Congrats..

Was this at Abuja?

Ebi1:
Hi everyone. So my family and I just got our visas! I’m f1. Husband is F2 and child F2. I had a child in the U. S back in 2019. The lady who interviewed us was scary. Lol. African American. We wer praying for the white lady to interview us cus she was nice to others especially students… but yea we got the African American lady. She thrilled us! Lol first question- why University of Saint Thomas? I told her that’s where I got my master of liberal Arts degree from back in 2014 and the school does more than teaching, it focuses on morals and ethics and it’s a tight knit community cause it’s a small school that makes it easy to interact with lecturers … She then asked when last I visited the US… I said 2019. She said how long did I stay? I said 5 months. She said why did I stay for that long? I said cus I gave birth. She asked if I told the consulate officer that I was going to give birth? I said yes I was taken through secondary interrogation where I showed them my doctor’s invitation letter and receipt of hospital bill… I then had to back track and explained how I went for my sister’s graduation and during the visit I had to do a doctor’s routine checkup. Then the doctor told me he could help me through the pregnancy with ease as I had gestational diabetes that he wanted to control through diet…. So long story short, she said my visa was revoked when my husband applied for his visa while I was in the U. S then. I told her I wasn’t aware that it was revoked because I didn’t commit any offense. That The consular officer then thought I wasn’t going to come back and that I have no reason to overstay. Then she said ok. Do you know that it’s now illegal for foreigners to give birth in the U.S that hope I don’t plan on having kids during my program. My husband and I said no o that we have two for now and we are ok until after the program…. Then she asked Who will be sponsoring your program? I said my dad. Then she asked what he did. I told her… she then faced my husband and asked what he does… my husband said he has a restaurant… then I whispered to him to add Cotonou that our restaurant is in Cotonou… then he added it. Lol. She asked who will be running it when we travel… he said he has staffs that run the business. She said staff as in? He said he has staff and a brother that will be running it on his behalf. Then she typed and faced me again. What do I plan to do with the program… I said to add to my current business which is for African youths and that I plan to use my doctor of education program to create a training institute for young adults… plus she asked if I had any relatives in the US. I said yes two sisters. She asked if my two sisters are citizens. I said no they are non immigrants. She said what are they doing there. I said one is on H1B and the other is a student. oh I forgot to mention that she noticed I didn’t write my full name when asked for other names used… I thought I was meant to write any other name I’ve been called so I used my short name and maiden name instead of using my full name… anyways she was like she was going to correct it manually from her end…. So yea she gave us the Visa… we packed soooo many documents and she didn’t even care to look down at any… I even tried to show her some , she didn’t even look; she was just looking at the system…

Not an issue

davidmatin:
Please I omitted my middle while filling my visa appointment schedule, and my visa interview confirmation came out without my middle name. Every other information is correct. It's just the middle name omission.

Would it be accepted at the consulate?

Thank you

Congrats.

How did you manage to get a date?

Thanks

gbegene2007:

I will guide you, your husband should be prepared to establish home tied through his work and his experience. That’s basically that and he should be conversant with all details pertaining to you his spouse such as schooling details, marriage details, if you have children etc He should be fine but from experience F2 for the husband usually gets denied at instance but yours may be different.

I was denied in January 10 in Lagos, re-applied and got a date in February 16 in Abuja and got approved. I was going to see my wife and children. I hope this helps

Try to locate OPTIMA HOTEL. it's about 5min walk to the US embassy in Abuja.

I wish I can perfectly give you directions on how to locate the hotel. But just keep asking around.
The least room there is 8k.

Wish you good luck.

You can drop the address from your Google map,

Please it is Abuja I applied to directly not lagos and I was given July 29th. I've applied for Emergency appointment twice and got denied, I don't know if I'm doing it wrong, is there anyone who can tell me what and what to upload to them for an Emergency appointment to be approved please.

You are requesting for EA at the wrong time. You are supposed to apply for it 120days before your resumption. If you apply for it in May, I'm sure it will be approved. However, you've already been denied twice and can't request for another. You either use the date given to you or pay a new visa fee to reapply.
On the other hand, try to reschedule occasionally you just might be lucky to see a favorable date

I'm going for an F1 Us visa for an associate degree in computer science. I was previously denied on Dec 3rd, I applied with my aunt who is close in age with me so we just said we were sisters, I know that was wrong. Also, My mom is a permanent resident in the Us and the school I applied to, classes begin Feb 14th
So I need a mock interview with someone from here

How were you denied in the 3rd of December and have a new date? Are you going again this January? Did you apply for Emergency and in the same place?

@dfutbolar, thanks a lot, this is very insightful, I appreciate your response and contribution God bless. Am sponsoring myself

Then I don't see a problem. You can make it known what you stand to gain upon your completion of your studies in this your present place of employment. Maybe a promotion? Your husband has no problem either. He has a business but he is following to ensure you settle down properly and get the necessary immediate assistance you'd need from a companion after which he will return to his business after some months. That's if you want him a F2 for him

Kindly assist with the following:
Why were you denied?
What has changed?
Why is your husband and children not going on vacation with you?

Thanks a lot for your response and contribution

I doubt they will ask you why you were denied in 2015. I feel this would have been asked if it was a F1 visa and was as recent as 6 months ago.

A whole lot has changed for you and your new job is a great home tie as well.

Your husband and children were not going on vacation because it was a work trip kind of vacation.

And as regards what your husband does, its still what he does you will say but you'll learn to sell him. I guess he is your sponsor.?

My husband is the Ceo and founder of so so and so Company that has been in existence since so so so year and registered with the CAC. The company is well known in the South South region and South West Region of Nigeria because they are the major distributor of aluminium sheets to both government and private individuals. Be ready to answer questions like how many staff does he have and branches of offices. Just sell him yet trying not to tell a lie.
Good luck.

US are really crazy o!!!! My cousin had his visa interview today at the US Embassy in Abuja and they denied him !!!! I think this transcript is very okay. The guy is feeling suicidal right now. Please guru’s in the house, please help me scrutinize this!!

* V.O: Pass me your passport and i20

* V.O: Where are you going to?
I am going to Texas A&M Kingsville University for my Masters in Electrical Engineering

* V.O: How did you hear about TAMUK
I have two family friends who currently study at Texas A&M Kingsville. They told me a whole lot about the University and the quality of education I stand to also benefit if I come.

* V.O: Which other school did you applied to and how many admitted you?
University of Texas at San Antonio, New York Institute of Technology and Texas A&M Tamuk

* V.O: Why Tamuk over UTSA, NYIT?
I pretty much enjoyed my interaction with Dr Armit Verma of the Department of Electrical Engineering in the Frank WIttcherweich School of Engineering. He provided me with prompt and precise responses to each of my request. We already built a good rapport. he was very excited on my admission to TAMUK as compared to the other Universities I applied to.

* V.O: Why Electrical Engineering?
Coming from my first degree on same course, I am now more passionate to acquire the requisite trainings to become a leading force in bringing about the lasting change in our power systems. Indeed there are numerous challenges with Power in Nigeria same as its opportinites and the vacuum here can only be filled by those who have the right knowledge.

* V.O: Why do you want to study in the USA?
Graduates of American Universities are always very well skilled. American Universities offer impeccable syllabus with a great blend of both practical and theoretical skills. Also, their degrees are highly regarded globally. They occupy juicy positions on their return to the country due to their acquired skill. Their degrees are well appreciated and recognized globally. Why do I need to consider anywhere else.

* V.O: Tell me about your study plan.
After my two years study stay in the US, I will deploy acquired skill into improving the power system of Nigeria by seeking for employment with the Ministry of Power specifically and becoming a contract lecturer with any of our top rated University in Nigeria. Instilling in them the right academic standard needed to be a better Engineer.

* V.O: What will this degree do for you?
This degree will arm me to be a better competitor among the league of well trained engineers who are willing to help build Nigeria. It will formally align me to global standards in terms of being a properly trained Electrical engineer.

*V.O: Tell me about your academic background
I finished from the University of Port harcourt in 2018 having graduated with a CGPA of 3.85. For my final year project, I worked on the comparison between Proportional Integral and Proportional Integral Differential for Liquid level control. I use Matlab for basic computational analysis. as this was deployed at Afam gas plant in Rivers State.

* V.O: What you been doing?
After my compulsory two one year NYSC, I have worked with a few Nigerian companies in the Engineering sphere, such as (abc) height in Port harcourt, and now (xyz) Electric. Currently with xyz Electric where I function as a Maintenace Engineer, I carry out maintenance checks on Electrical parts with the help of circuit software JIRA.

* V.O: who is paying for your studies?
My Dad.

* V.O: What does he do?
He provides Industrial gas to manufacturing companies in Lagos, Ibadan and Benin.

* V.O: Can I see his bank statement?
Oh Sure.

*V.O Goes through the statement for over 3 minutes cross checking every detail
V.O What is FBM as stated in the statement?
I said its one of the transactions that occurred. Actually a case where a client made payment. The statement actually has N34 Million.

*V.O Goes through the statement again while typing some crap.
*V.O I’m sorry you are ineligible to enter the US at the moment, while handling to me the blue paper. Please check through section 214b …………………
I was dumbfounded, I felt my world was crashing in on me. I left the facility disgusted.

Sorry about the delay.

If I may ask, how much is the tuition?
Is it more than what the bank statement is?

Booking through their app means you will be paying with a dollar card.

I went to their office because I couldn't pay via the app as it was in USD. So when I called them, they said I should come to their office and pay; that was where I got to know about their student discount offer. They automatically give when they see your visa and age, so go with your passport.

I will like to know if you still had to do a pre arrival Covid test from Nigeria.

Guys, please I have a question

My visa interview is tomorrow being Thursday and if I’m approved of a visa, I might not be able to make it because my program starts the next day being Friday

And visa issuance takes about 3 working days. That means, if I’m approved, I would be picking up my passport with visa on Monday Or Tuesday the following week

I’ve informed my school about this and requested for an extension and they refused an said all students must be present at the mandatory orientation program which will be holding on Monday next week and the only option for me would be to defer to fall 2022

Since my program doesn’t admit for summer

This is really sad.

They said they would issue me a new I-20 for Fall 2022 if my visa is approved

I have accepted my Fate to defer to Fall 2022 which starts around September 2022

My question now is, how soon can I travel for my Fall Term Starting in September if my visa is approved.

Can I travel in June ?

I think you can only enter into the US not later than 30 days to the start of your program. Meaning August will be ideal month to gain entry

VO: I will be approving your visa, hold your i20 at the POE.

That's my wife's testimony today. It makes 1year+ that I entered USA.

Congratulations.

I think anything you want to try to prove should start from your ds160. Because US hardly ask you for any document to prove anything. They just want to hear you talk

I also explained I needed to resume school in over 60days but needed to be in the US from 30days earlier than start date.

After I did so. I got a request ID and sent a mail to the Abuja consular stating my request ID and asking for a follow up.

All last night and this morn got a mail that it was approved.

I rescheduled and dates available where from Jan 13.

I hope this helps someone.
I also pray I'd come back with a positive transcript to encourage others

Hint: type a detailed message while applying for EA. You can as well put your SEVIS ID, resumption date etc. Your message shouldn't be scanty. Give it a try! Good luck to us all!

Thanks for this update. However, I need some clarifications.
You applied for EA was it through your portal or via the email?
If through your portal is your start date for class presently within the next 60days?
