Yes you can go pick up your passport and medical parcel. It has been picked up by DHL so it's ready for collection. You can go with a photocopy of your datapage. You may also need to show them the email you got.

@brownesugar please did you get a text from the embassy regarding your passport pick up? I got the attached email from them few minutes ago. Does that mean I can go pick my passport up? Also did you go with an ID? I don’t know if a photocopy of my passport data page will do. A swift response from those that have picked up their passport will be highly appreciated.

Yeah my bad, we use zip codes and not postal codes. The postal code for Lagos is 100001. Though I still used 23401 in some of the documents

We use postal codes in Nigeria, what we don’t use is zip codes.

My K1 visa was approved and I want to say a big thank you to LegitBachealor & the rest of the members here for all the contributions. I had my interview on Jan 15th and I just tracked it, it's showing issued, so waiting for the notification to go to DHL. So let me give the low down how everything happened.

Our case actually expired on 28th Dec,2019 but I was able to get interview date before expiration. I did my medicals in Lagos 13th December and picked it on 14th January morning because I don't stay in Lagos. Even though it was ready as at 23rd December. The consultant practice Ikoyi very friendly people.

I collected police certificate same day I did medicals and paid them 8k at Alagbon picked it up same day.

On 14th January I lodged at Atlantic hotel vi lagos musa yaradua road. I didn't want stories. The hotel is 25k per a night and I didn't mind because I wanted to be close to the embassy as possible. Woke up 5am and got to the embassy 5.30am. People don full everywhere. I paid one security 1k and dropped my bag and phone. My interview was for 7.30am.

So after all the queue and all, we were inside for the interview. No be small thing. Those for visit visa b1/b2 were just so much. I kept hearing please take your passport you re not eligible for the US visa...I'm sorry I'm sorry everywhere GOD. Those for immigrants were about 40. I focused on myself, already arranged all my documents in different transparent folders. Secondary evidence, primary evidence, compulsory requirements etc.

My turn for the submission window and thumbprint verification. The lady asked for Affidavit of support, police clearance certificate, medicals (don't open it until you get to the embassy & they ask you to at the queue), original birth certificate, w2 tax etc, passport photo and my international passport. I gave her all in 2 mins. Had it all arranged in my compulsory folder. Then I sat down and waited till I was called around 11.30am

The consular officer a black American asked me to take the oath which I did, finger print and interview startedooo. I tried my best to keep an eye contact on him, everything I learnt on this forum. Questions upon questions

How did you meet?
Where's she from?
Where does she stay ? ( THIS one I named the address in full)
What does she do?
Where does she work?
How many times have you met?
When did you propose?

I was already doing so well with All my legit answers then from nowhere he asked me this question...

You have been denied tourist visa 3 times, what's the circumstances surrounding it?

I explained to him the conference I wanted to attend but was denied, i gave him dates of all the application even the 1st one in 2014. No lie at all. Thank GOD I never lied in my application or said married when I was single.

He then asked me if I had ever lived outside Nigeria...I said No.

Next thing he said I believe I have enough information to approve your visa. He gave me two papers and said I should pick up my visa in two weeks and circled the Dhl address. I said thank you.

Wow it can only be GOD. Nigeria is really on a radar even if you are genuine, you need to pray that everything works out well.

Okay, go to your WhatsApp, click on calls, then choose the ones you and your fiancé had, just click on the exclamation mark and the details such as call duration, time, date and even the MB consumed will show. Just do screenshots of many as possible, especially the ones with longer call durations, send them to your email and print them out at a cybercafe if you don’t have a printer at home.

This guy ehn.. Get your facts right and don’t speak out of assumptions. It is perfectly legal to date or even get engaged while separated. I know sometimes you think you’re telling the truth but you don’t always have to be very brash when delivering your message.

The consular officer saw on my DSform that I'm a graduate of psychology and the year of graduation was stated. So he maybe felt its a coincidence that I'm getting out of the university and entering the United States on the basis of marriage. Most skilled workers are denied visa application that are not centered on working visa's. They feel it's a sham.

However, myself and fiancé wants to appeal on IMMIGRANT WAIVER Section 212(k) provide for a waiver where the foreign national is able to demonstrate that he or she did not know and could not have known a labor certification was required and otherwise holds a valid immigrant visa.

If I tell you that I understand all these mumbo jumbos then I’ll be lying. This is really sad, I’m sorry to hear about this bro. Hopefully you guys can get married and go through CR-1

Shit!!! I saw this on visa journey. My petition was invalid from the start. I got her engaged on the 27TH of August 2018 and her divorce was final 21st of February 2019. Lol please don't make this mistakes guys!!! We are withdrawing our petition.

I don’t understand this, was she not separated when you engaged her? From what I know, married couples who wants to divorce have to be separated for a duration of time, depending on the state of residence. However, you are free to date or even get engaged while separated, you just cannot get married.

What you can do is to keep checking, but mind you that if you don’t pick a date now, you might not get an earlier date and the dates available now would have been filled up.

I heard QLife is cheap, I did mine at The Consultants Practices and I paid almost 90k for medicals and immunizations

He then gave me 2 papers (visa pickup instructions and IMBRA) and told me visa will be ready for pickup in 2 weeks.
He also advised against getting married before entering the states as that would invalidate the visa.

He walk away for about 30secs, then came back, stamped and signed something (I think it was the affidavit of support). Then said “I have all I need to approve your visa, gave me 2 white sheets (one was pick up location while the other was IMBRA. He reminded me that should I get married here, the visa is automatically revoked. He Never asked for proof of relationship, IRS or W2. I only submitted the affidavit of support along with bank statements where I did my fingerprints.

Bottom line is Pray to God to be with you every step of the way. Lastly, know your fiancé/fiancée in and out.

Visa granted guys!!! My interview took barely 3mins. To God be all the glory!!!

Good day people, for those who did their medical exam in Abuja at MHAC. Did you make payment before attending your appointment. I called them to make an Enquiry and book an appointment and I’m being told I need to bring proof of payment while coming for the appointment I was also given an account number. Pls help me confirm this I don’t want to be scammed.

Those who did their medical in Abuja should please give a response to this.

In my own opinion, if the account details tallies with the name of the Clinic and you got the details from their contact information via google, then you should be fine. I heard QLife also confirms your appointment only after you make payment.

PS: Read the reviews too. It helps a lot.

Hello everyone, please for those who have gone for their interviews, how did you hold the pages of documents like pay stubs, bank statements, IRS transcripts and Affidavit of support together without using a stapler? Was there certain instructions in regards to this at the security point. I will appreciate a swift response to this please.

Did you change your phone? If you can find the chats perfect, but if you can’t, ensure you back up your chats henceforth so as not to loose them later. Start doing screenshots of your call records with her too, especially if it’s WhatsApp calls(voice/video).
