Hello everyone, so i got to the US yesterday afternoon, my POE was JFK and my time with the CBP was seamless. most connecting flights were cancelled, luckily for me, mine was not. Please elders in the house,how long until i can apply for my temporary SS card and what is the procedure? God bless you all and good luck to everyone else behind us.

Zero issues. I presented my passport and the package to the immigration guy. After that, he took my fingerprints and referred me to someone else. I waited for some minutes until it was my turn, then the new guy asked for my address in the US. I told him my address, and he said we should get married before the visa expires. After that, he gave me my passport and i went on to check in for my connecting flight!

I can say for sure that the K1 visa is not affected by the ban.

Exactly evaluation of any foreign certification be included in the application not necessary WES,my hubby choose WES cos its known globally/accepted by uscis..

So say I bring my transcript along personally, it might not be accepted except it is sent directly from my school?

this is not needed for US entry, the medicals already cover everything, I think the yellow card is for visits to African countries because I was asked of my yellow card at the POE during my previous visits to two different African countries. I had mine anyway because i was informed about it

My bro just heed his advice immigration rules are changing,for graduates in the house if you are coming in kindly come along with your certificates and have your transcripts arranged to be sent down as its part of the important documents one must have before you can file for adjustment of status,it must be evaluated by WES(World Education Services) &sent to USCIS over here..... am in a fix /putting calls of how to get my three certifications down heard it was made compulsory effect feb 24th alongside the ban... anyone read about this too ?

Depending on your partner’s work schedules . The requirement is that you meet at least once, but meeting more than once increases your chances of getting approved. Many people met their partners just once and were approved (myself included), while some people also met their partners more than once and did not get approved. There are a lot of factors being considered by the VO before approving a visa I believe.

Whichever studio you’re using to take the passport, ask the person to email you the soft copies and attach your fiancé’s email address to the mail too.

I’ll suggest you fill the DS 160 form first before paying the visa fee. You can create your profile on ustraveldocs after paying the visa fee using your CGI print out from GTbank. Good luck

Bro I’ll suggest you and your fiancé just take the spousal (CR-1) route because waiting for USCIS to get back you guys might take long and a waste of time too. That’s my 2cents though. Sorry once again

My us k1 visa was denied under Section 212(a)(5)(A), when I asked the consular officer for the specific reason for the denial he didn't tell me, however he told me to get an immigration lawyer, what can I do, can I reapply for a new interview ?

I am sorry to hear that bro. But from what I’ve read here taking the spousal route is your best option. However, make sure to do your research on that section 212(a) (5) (A) of immigration law I think, so understand why exactly you were denied so as not to face another denial.

It will be extremely difficult to prove hardship for k-1 visa but it’s possible! Please read up on other cases in regards to people under the 2017 proclamation!

Update: I went to Dhl this afternoon, they said my passport wasn’t ready, I drove back home and within 1hr I got a text to pick up my passport! So I will go back on monday

Guys been a while i posted,got here(Indiana) on saturday it so so cold here and didnt get over jetlag until today,i am so happy for the new members that recently got approved,praying for a successful interview for those awaiting theirs,also praying that this ban will be lifted sooner than we expect Amen.. came in via qatar airline,all trip was great except the delay we had in lagos,my port of entry was Philadelphia&it was a smooth entry. the immigration officers there was just okay and doing there job well/friendly to some extent compare to the way some of them are at other intl airports.. i was greeted by a white woman(immigration officer) who took my finger prints and asked me where i was travelling from/if it was my first time travelling told her yes..there she collected my pack from me/ with my passport,a form and place them inside a file and ask another officer take it to a room for secondary inspection/ask i follow him..
In the secondary inspection room was asked to sit down with some other pple while we were being called differently,a young dude called my name upon getting to him He asked where i was travelling to,told him,he asked how long i have know my fiance/where we met,what he does,he said okay after reply well and asked what job i lld like to do, told him he smiled sheepishly and said thats the job his wife does and how there is job security on it and he would encourage me to do it blah blah in my mind i was just like just stamp my passport in man ,dont want to listen to his stories&co..lolzz..as i was so tired ,8hrs to qatar and 14hrs 20mins to philly last thing i needed was a gist of his wife jobs&co..lolzz... after stamping me in he showed me.the date he entered that we must get married before that date..after stamping me in and co as i turned to leave again he asked if my fiance is picking me up@the airport(indiana) said yes and here just took my hand luggage left with pace cos he seems to be less busy to try&engage me in some sort of conversation again.lolzz.

I picked up my passport and packaged documents from the DHL office today. I spent only 2minutes and was done, they are very professional. It’s time to start packing my people. The excitement today pass the day of my interview. ��

It looks like a drilling right? But No I didn’t feel like I was been drilled. In fact it felt more like a conversation..I honestly don’t think I spent up to 5mints with her. she was nice and she kept on typing as she was talking to me. It’s normal to feel nervous no matter how genuine your relationship is but honestly you have nothing to fear or to be scared off..a pointer is the availability of seats to immigrants of which such luxury is not accorded to NIV peeps.it simply means you are special..lol. So feel special but not entitled and like they say smile and be honest pls don’t lie or try and play smart with them,if they ask you a pointed question,trust they know what they are asking and have the answer.they are trying to see if you are honest... .look into there eyes when answering questions or better still just look at them cause they are busy typing anyway.wish everyone going for there interview best of luck.

P.S the questions might not be in order and at some point she asked me to flip through our pictures and she was asking questions (not necessarily related to the pictures)
Candid advice: All intending applicants should pls endeavor to studiously go over all interview transcripts on here and also on visa journey.

my girlfriend is about to come down to Nigeria which will make it the first we are meeting in person and she intends to file for my k1 application, I hope one time meeting isn't bad or what are my chances ...she has a good job and own properties she's 54 and I'm 30, I really need help on what to do.

Just one visit coupled with the age gap might not be so convincing, especially given the rate of high denials these days.But you stand a chance if you both have been in communication for long and you can prove your relationship is bona fide. I’ll recommend you both take the spousal route though, either way you still have to convince the CO that your relationship is bona fide.

So the package you’re to give the CBP, did you hand it over at the JFK airport in New York or at the airport in North Carolina?

If my fiance lives in New York, but I'm landing in Newark NJ...is it a problem? Because of the envelope I need to submit at point of entry. Must it be the city my fiance lives? Pls advise

I think I’ll need clarification on that too, because I’ll be passing through New York to Virginia.
