Please how long does it take for a case to get to the Embassy after it says “in transit” from the NVC?

I tried reading back on the old threads but couldn’t find a duration of time. I am asking this because my fiancée is going on sea next week and she is hoping she knows my interview date before she leaves. Thanks.

LegitBachelor post=Anyone can call. But I recommend your fiancee calls. She might get better audience. However she needs to be specific on what you guys want from the Embassy. Do you guys want to get married before she leaves? Or Do you intend going with her to the sea? Or do you want to wait for her to come back before moving to the States? The Embassy can expedite interviews but they require a very convincing reason for that. The Embassy can also extend Petition Expiration date as well if you provide convincong reason.

Police Report has a validity of 1 year. So you are good.

What some people is to go ahead and schedule an interview date with their casenumber and then hope that the Embassy will receive their case before then. But its always recommended to do that if you have a genuine reason to do so. In your case, why aee you concerned about getting a January date when your fiance won't be in the States by then?

Yes they can. But they rarely do unless for a very convincing reason (mostly health related, I think).

Thank you very much for the info boss, I cannot go on the deployment with her as it is for military personnel only, what we are hoping for is if either the 6months duration I have to stay in Nigeria after my visa can be extended, or the 90days for us to get married on getting to the US can be extended if by chance she doesn’t come back from the deployment on time. ( Though they’re supposed to be back by March, but the military can always change plans).

In other news, our case says “in transit” when I tracked it yesterday, so is it wise to pay the visa application fee and book an appointment now or just wait until it says “Ready”? I have already filled the DS160 form.

Thank you once again for the info

LegitBachelor I don't understand your question. Why do you need your fiancee to send you her pay stubs? And can't she send it you online for you to print? And what is the exact complaint you made to NVC that made them refer you to the Embassy? I'm asking because NVC has no business adjudicating over K Visa. The only thing they do is give your petition a case number and then transfer to the appropriate Embassy.

Dont mind my many questions. I just want to understand your case. I will answer some of your questions even though I don't really know why you are asking them. It takes the Embassy at least 7 days to respond to emails, so wait a little while. If You want to call, click on this link: https://www.nairaland.com/4800968/usa-fiancee-k1-visa-thread/46#80773637 Their number is somewhere on that post.

Don't worry about your case expiring by January 26. As long as You are not the one delaying your case, you are fine. Just be proactive. Follow up with NVC to get your case number. Track your casefile until you can confirm it is READY with the Embassy. Then schedule an interview and do all the necessary things like police report and medicals. Then prepare and go for your interview.

Thanks so much for the info. The thing is she’s a military officer, they were supposed to go on a deployment back in September. However, the deployment was postponed owing to their ship not being ready, which made her request for an expedite on our case. The expedite was accepted and our case was approved on the 30th of September 2019 and sent to the NVC , now their ship is ready and deployment is for the 18th of this month, she will be on sea until March (Hopefully).

My questions is 1. She might have difficulty accessing the internet as often as she will want to, so when we talked to the NVC about the situation, they advised we call the embassy and explain our situation. I want to know the appropriate channel to reach and if i can call them or it’s best my fiancée call from there.

2. I did my police report last month and it expires in 3months which is January. Will it still serve?

3. Our case according to NVC has gone through administrative processing and will be sent to their Embassy in Lagos, at least that was what they said 2weeks ago, but nothing still shows whenever i track it. So I worry that i might not be able to find an interview date for January.

4. Does the embassy expedite interviews?

I hope i was able to elaborate properly for a better understanding on our situation??

Thanks.

Hey guys, so it turns out my fiancée will be going on deployment come the 18th of this month, meanwhile our case is still at the NVC even after they said it has passed their administrative process. Now they encouraged my fiancée to call the embassy and explain the situation to them as she won’t be available to send me her paystubs for November and December, plus our case will expire on the 26th of January.

My question is, is there a number i can call? Because we’ve sent an email over 5days ago and no response yet. @Legitbachelor @Sukey @Sharpman1 @drenimarcus and others i couldn’t mention.FYI pleasee

[quote author=capello1 post=83762956]Had my interview today

Got to the embassy at 5:30 am for my 7:30am appointment ,heard everyone including the security talking about the new fees of 40700 once your visa is approved and no one could explain what visa category needed to make that payment ,so I had to rush back to the hotel and got my atm to withdraw from the bank ,the guys outside were helping people for early interview withdraw and charged 1k.When I got back did normal security checks given number 14.

Went into the main building, submitted documents at window 16 submitted appointment letter ,Ds160,medicals,police report, tax return,w2,paystub,birth certificate ,gave me back some evidence my fiancee submitted to uscis and told to sit and wait for my number, there are seats for immigrants to sit and the non immigrants stand.

There were only 2 officers to interview immmigrants and they were approving people ,by 9am i was called to window 17.

He asked :
my relationship with my petitioner
How we met
When we met
How many visits
Dates
Why not marry in Nigeria ,didn't ask to see any document ,then he gave me 2 papers one for my rights in america and one circled where to pick up passport and visa would be ready in 2 weeks .

Congrats man.. May all our interviews go smoothly like this. I’m patiently waiting for our case to leave the NVC. They told my fiancée our case passed administrative process over a week ago. Just keeping my fingers crossed

Thanks but i wasn't referring to the issue of having to do an X-ray.

The tests you’ll run at the clinic might reveal how many weeks or months pregnant you are. Provided it tallies with the date you last met your fiancé, that shouldn’t be a problem. You might be asked about it by the CO and you might not. (Please don’t be offended by what i just said oo).

[quote author=mekusa10 post=83550648]Questions asked... by a gentle African American
1.How long have you been engaged ?
2. How long was first visit. ? Then he laughed and said seems like she likes nigeria, why don't you both live here he asked, I answered.
3. What is your job about.?
4. How did I propose ?
5. When did the relationship turn romantic?
6. Can I see pictures?
7. How and when we met? ( this one came b4 question 2 above)
Congrats you are approved, have a great day he said and handed me the paper with instructions on how to pick my passport. Goodluck to everyone smiley

Congrats bro. I pray we keep getting positive news from people ahead of us. Our own case is still at the NVC.

[quote author=Drenimarcus post=83492308]First of all, blur your case number please. Secondly, your case is still at NVC, the NVC will then send it to the embassy, once it says in transit, that means it is being sent to Nigeria. Once it says ready, start gathering your docs and send an email to the embassy to confirm if they received your case.

Thanks so much bro. Done. I will keep try to be more active henceforth. Once again thanks

Hello guys, so I’ve been a silent reader on the platform so far and I’ve been able to get some vital information while following the thread.

So we got our case number from the NVC on Friday (my fiancée called NVC) and so far I’ve filled the DS160 form, just the visa application fee is left to be paid.

However, whenever i try to track our case with the NVC the attached image is what pops up, when I read through the instructions, it seem different from the K1 visa procedure I’ve read about so far. Please guys can anyone share more light on this and tell me the next step to take?
