[quote author=Dutchleez post=85648039]My experience at the embassy earlier today was pleasant except at one of the security point whereby I was turned back to remove my smart watch. Other than than, everything looks good.

I was interviewed by a black American woman (Probably in late 40s) and here goes the question that was asked:

Who petitioned you?
What’s her name?
How and where we met?
Have you applied for a tourist visa before? No
Have you traveled out of Nigeria before?
Have you been arrested before? No
Have you ever been involved in drugs? No
Can I see proof of relationship?
How many times she visited? Just once
When were you engaged?
Do you have kids
Does she have kids
Have you been married before
As she been married before
How old are you
How is your fiancé
Where do I work?
What kind of work do I plan to do in US?

Then she said congratulations your visa is approved. Should be ready in two weeks at this pick up location and make sure you read through the pamphlet. Enjoy the rest of your day.

The above questions are not really in order of how it was asked but the questions were asked in a relaxed way. Spent about 7 minutes with her.

Tips that might help:
1. Put God first
2. Don’t let anyone infuse fear in you
3. Smile or laugh when answering question, it relaxes you.
4. It’s normal to be nervous, I was too. But the moment the CO called me, her approach relaxes me immediately. Kindly compose yourself to expect anything from the CO on your first approach.
5. No one knows your fiancé (e) better than you, find that expression when answering questions.
6. I noticed all the consulate at IV section seems kind and compassionate. So, if they drill you with questions, bear in mind that they are just doing there job and are willing to approve you when they are convinced.

Wishing everyone the very best.

Congrats once again man and I wish you and your better half all the best. Thanks for sharing your transcript

[quote author=Glorioussugar post=85438050]My visa was denied today. I really don’t know why. But before the co called my name, he was going through my documents, and then printed the refusal paper and kept on his table before he called me. He just asked me who petitioned for me, where does he work, has he been married before, have I been married before? He then asked if he has come back to Nigeria since the last time he visited.( my fiancé is not a Nigerian. He came to Nigeria once for the first time to see me, and he stayed for 8 days. ) I told him I went to his country when his mum passed. And I stayed with them for 2 weeks. He then ask what I do for a living. And asked me what kind of work I’ll like to do in America. I told him my main aim of going is to get married. He asked if I don’t want to do any work when I get there. I told him I want to get married. Asked me how I met my fiancé, and then he looked at my past application in 2013 and asked who’s Ojo? I told he was my ex he asked if I was married to him, I said no, but we lived together. I’ve never been married. Asked when I met my fiancé and when he came to Nigeria. Didn’t ask for any evidence. And then issued me the letter he printed out earlier on.

Sorry about the Denial dear. Your fiancé needs to talk to an immigration lawyer as I believe they must have felt with a similar case as yours. I can’t possibly begin to imagine how you’re feeling now but God will strengthen you and your fiancé and provide a way out of this situation.
You mentioned that 5people were denied before you, are those people also for the K1 category??

Hey guys, a quick update on my medicals; so I did mine with The Consultants Practice at 25, Raymond Njoku street, Ikoyi Lagos. Their staffs are very professional and helpful, no attitude at all, I will highly recommend there. Though I arrived there some minutes to 8am and had to wait outside along with people who came before me until 8am when they let us in and attended to us according. Below is the breakdown of payment I made.

N61,550.00 = For blood test, urine test, some other tests and X-ray .
N23,175.00 = This is for immunization. I was given two shots, some people were given three which amounted to about 33,000 or there about. The price for immunization varies as a woman was asked to pay 15000. My result will be ready in two weeks and I am to go pick it up, they’re not sending it to the embassy as we heard earlier.

I also stopped by at the Federal high Court for my Age declaration. Please elders in the house, kindly help me look at it and tell if I need some corrections to be made. With the attached Certificate of birth and Affidavit, do I still need to get the long format from NPC office directly? Because I did my certificate of birth at my local government.

@legitbachelor(abi legitmarriedman) @Sharpman1 @Drenimarcus @Mekusa @select500 and the rest of the gurus in the house. Please I need your insight on something, especially after reading on page 60 about one of the followers issue he had regarding the affidavit of support.

My fiancé filled all the necessary details, she however did not state in details the exact nature and duration of contributions she intends to make in Part 7. Additional information as stated on page 4 of the affidavit of support. She only wrote her name current full name on 1.a of page 8, and wrote her the other names she’s used before on 3.d. of same page 8 which is her family name. Please will that be a problem since she didn’t put it in writing on part 7 how long and how much she will be willing to support me. I need your opinions please so I know if she has to redo that page 8. Though she is currently away on deployment now but hopefully I can communicate with her when they dock and we can find a way to sort it out, if it will be an issue. Thanks in advance guys. [quote author=disguy1 post=84276588]Bro, Yes I have. So, I scheduled with my old DS-160 form initially and later realized that I had to fill a new DS-160 form. I filled a new one and mailed traveldocs. It was rectified within the hour. they've linked the new one to my appointment date. So, I'm golden.

I'm thinking of last week in December for the medicals. Do we have to call them to book a date in advance? I've heard varying opinions on here.

That is good, I think given that we have enough time, we should place a call to make inquiries. I will update you on how it goes since I’ll be going there before you.
Wishing you best of luck.

TravelRe: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by dicsnemma: 6:45pm On Nov 17, 2019
LegitBachelor post=84091272]. There's nothing wrong with getting a February Date. The most important thing is that you get a date before the petition expires. But if you want to get a date earlier that's fine. Just note that once you get your visa, you have a deadline to leave Nigeria to the States (around 5 months deadline or so) and the moment you touch down in the States, you have a deadline to get married and fill the AOS form (3 months). If you factor all that in your calculation, then you are fine.

I and my fiancée discussed it and we decided to choose a date in January as she’ll be back from deployment by March. We don’t want any issues with the petition expiry date. I found a date in January and scheduled one already. Hopefully before the 16th, Our package would have arrived and I would have received my packet 3, then I can go ahead with the medicals.

TravelRe: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by dicsnemma: 6:24pm On Nov 14, 2019
LegitBachelor I don't think there's any need to request for any extension. If your medical report is done such that it is ready when your interview date is close, your visa will have a validity of over 5 months. So you can still remain in Nigeria till when the visa is almost expired after which you then travel to the States. When you enter the States, you'll have another 3 months of grace to get married. So, in effect, you have 5 + 3 months grace.

As regards booking appointment, you can wait till it says ready. Ideally you are supposed to wait until you get an email from the Embassy. If you wait, it means the interview date you'll likely get will spill into February or March. That's even more grace period for you. When is your petition expiring?

Yes bro, I and my fiancée thought about that and did our calculations, but waiting until I hear from the embassy or see “Ready” on CEAC website might lead to me getting February dates, which I don’t think will be good for me because our petition will expire on the 26th of January. I just have to find a date ASAP given the recent development I’m hearing here. I have paid the visa application fee today. Just waiting until tomorrow to see if I can find a date in January. What do you think?
