Blesschemical:UX is different from UI, Learn about the difference, you can choose to major in one or both. You absolutely do not need to know any programming language. The reason most UX/UI designers have some coding knowledge which is usually restricted to (html, css & javascript) is because it helps you to relate well with the developers on your team during Project handoffs etc. You can easily see from their own viewpoints, understand terminologies. Just understand how code works. Run from any job that explicits demands coding from a UX/UI though. Else you'll be working 3/4 roles & getting paid for one. |
CodeTemplar:Doesn't work like that |
UX design & Research is a great niche but still relatively not really rated by most nigerian employers. You can learn from youtube etc But imo, Go to udemy, cousera, google UX researcher course etc. Pay, learn & get the certification. I can't learn that & work for nigerian companies who will want you to know 3 and pay you the salary of only (1) e.g Employed as a graphics designer, Does UI,UX,general design, edit videos, animation and a little bit of code. TF? It's a fulltime lucrative job on its own. Don't waste time learning in from the nigerian design space. |
Product design? UI/UX? Graphics design? Wow. Maybe you meant packaging design? In the design world, You start from graphics first. Before deciding to major in UI which is even different from UX in a way. Then finally up to the product designer role which more or less entails all i mentioned up there, including animations, video editing & such and involves a steep learning curve. I'll tell you the blunt truth. You love coding, stick to front end dev, It would even get you a job faster than designs which is more or less saturated, then add UI to your set of skills. Later you can add UX Design & research if you want. I understand its hard, but you're blundering all around the place, choose a path & stick to it nomatter what. Find a programming firm to intern instead of wasting valuable time somewhere because of the benefits. You will understand in the long run of having a solid foundation. And get a laptop |
Still on cruise. My more serious designs might start from the second page. So go ahead, judge the book by the cover ![]() |

How fast can you spot the error?

Sometimes you just find an image and complement it. Which do you notice more, the design or the images?

Last one for today. Full image for the above. Watermarked unfortunately ![]() So ironic. My trainer taught me to let them steal the idea but never the image. Go and design from scratch.

Want some attention grabbing designs? Find a designer that's good at stealing ideas & welding them with design. Like these samples below. Ideas & designs taken from Tomato paste, Bournvita, UI/UX, Chivita Containers, Social apps & Soap bubbles? Yes, I'm very sane. Thankiu

Another of my first attempts at Flyers, that Album art is really really terrible. But don't be suprised some artist would like it. Sometimes you just see some designs and wonder. Now you know.
