Evening nairalanders, I am at a cross road. I am a HND graduate of Architecture, completed NYSC in 2013. My plan is to digress a bit from architecture at the Postgraduate level into disciplines like Construction management. But looking into schools around, I haven't been able to find a school with any of such courses. Pls guys, I am open to suggestions as to options.

I need a means of survival as soon as possible. I am about to be thrown out of my apartment. My rent due on the 1st of June. Eating is now problem. Pls, save a soul.

It depends on how you can manage your time but will give you brief info on the job time.

Morning shift: Starts from 7am-4pm, between this is an hour break which is spread to 15, 15 & 30mins. You need to get to work by 6:30am cos you will have a briefing before each day work. Though there is transportation, meaning you may have to leave home by 5:30am depending on where you live in order to meet staff bus. In essence, morning shift takes at least 11- 12hrs depending on where you live.

Afternoon shift: Similar to morning shift but some people take much longer time than that. Shift starts from 11:30am-8:30pm. You will leave home by 10am and get home around 9:30pm. Same reason as morning shift and location dependent.

Night shift: Runs from 8:30pm-7am. Log on duration is 8hrs and the remaining time is for break. You also need to leave early just as the reasons above.

From opinion review, afternoon shift is the most consuming shift because you will leave as early as 10am and get home by 10pm. Meaning you spend the whole day at work.

Believe me, you will be extremely tired after each of this shift work.

You can use this to plan your time.

For interested fellows, you guys should give it a trial. I just talked to a top staff and it is possible the pay get better compared to the present pay.

There is a feeling flying around that the pay might be up to 55k (yet to be really confirmed but can't strike it out beccause of the source of the info).

It is possible ISON got a better contract with mtn.

And also, I learnt they want fresh hands and not former employees or present employees working at the airtel call center.

Its minimum of OND. The writer about ISON is correct but if I may add, yyou have to be healthy I.e have good health to work with ISON BPO. That's just the truth. The job is stressful. Take it or leave it. It is good for a career in customer service.

Also, your training is 25days + 5days practical training(called OJT). After which you now go on 3months real OJT and then another 3months probation. If successful, you will now be handed a 1year renewable contract. Shikenah.

Training= 20k
3mnth OJT= 35k per month
3mnth Probation= 40k per month
1year contract=46k per month.

You work 5 days, 2days off. 9hrs/day (splitted 1hr break inclusive). There are 3 shifts.

You are sure of a renewed contract if you aint sacked.

It's obvious to me now that you are looking for applicants who doesn't have experience in customer service. Am saying this based on what you said about an applicant who is a machine operator and yet still applied for the job.

I will then have to ask you why you need to certify someone with 3yrs experience and with various trainings and certifications most of which include Centum Learning and PAN AFRICAN TRAINING.
I can bet it that your certification can't stand both of them.
I believe my years of experience was stated in the form I filled.

Going to what you said about the phone manner of an applicant, I also have to say that the person who attended to me yesterday when I called did not behave like a good customer service agent. If I happen to audit that call the person will score a fatal which means zero.

For you to have a good call, your Politeness and courtesy, Accuracy of resolutions and Completeness of resolution must be on point.
1) He wasn't enthusiastic. 2) When he couldn't hear me, he wasn't polite with the way he asked. Those are the two I could remember from that conversation.

It will be better if you can work on your staff too even if you can't upload where they also performed badly.

In ISPON we have what is called student membership, u can easily play with level 1 and 2.Graduates can also do level 1 and 2. Level 1 and 2 are good but nt designed for graduates but most corpers will always go for it because of the cost.In my own opinion 1 and 2 are equivalent to General HSE.Level 3 is the highest level among other levels but you should also note that level 3 is cheaper than General HSE but in practice u must do General HSE b4 u do level 3.(Level 3 which is HSE SUPERVISION is usually called HSE COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT LEVEL 3). Before now it is sponsored by SHELL(Called HSE IN CONTRACT). In summary we have Basic HSE 15k(level 1),HSE APPRECIATION 20k(Level 2), General HSE 45K and HSE SUPERVISION(Level 3) 45k...(NB: ISPON). In some other organisations you may see things like Level 4:Award in supervising good safety in catering, Level 4 Award in food safety management for manufacturing
