I'm sure your answer is correct because its wot i got. However, the picture is my illustration. if the numbers increase then i guess it would be wise to use the chapman equation. Please explain wot the PTC and PT and PCC and the rest acronyms mean. i was able to draw out the the scenario and i hope richyblack would acknolege my answer. it is just a capture of the question at any one time. Clearly, there are 19 cars on the road and for one in five cars there is a truck behinfd it(count from left), and for three in four trucks there is a car behind each of them. So from the pciture, the fraction of trucks on the road is 4/19. But then again if there were more than 4 trucks and 5 cars on the road , i would recommend using dinozzo's solution.

PTC, PTT, PCT, PCC are the transitional probabilities for the states T trucks and C cars, like using a markov chain for two given states.

using the chapman equation; PT = PTT x PT + PCT x PC

PC = 1-PT

PT = 1/4PT + 1/5(1-PT)

PT = 1/4PT - 1/5PT + 1/5

This new technology called High Defintion is just a way the oyinbo man is using to collect more of our money. I have seen movies(HD DVD) played on the so called high-definition TVs(1080i) in many stores but i see no much differences. The sellers told me it was six times clearer than my DVDs on a sony projection screen. All na lie.
Blu-ray, HD-DVD, LCD HDTV. All na story.

there is a whole lot of difference,even when watching a 720p mkv file downloaded from the internet.

I can't even remember anymore again, This is the only onces i can remember i have watched since January. I hope the writers strike will end soon because am feeling cranky with all these stop gap series because of the strike.

Its a terrible addiction. Once i watch an episode, i must finish the season before i sleep. What a way to spend your weekend

I haven't really watched any show for the past week except for TBBT and HIMYM . Prison break is going to be back for a new season with Sarah I think. NCIS is starting next week so I get to watch it again, lost is off till ending of April, they promised a cliffhanger for the break but I was totally disappointed, the producers over hyped it as usual.

lol, because I said i like Jet li . War was ok, yeah mindless action but it was still generally good for an action flick so was vantage point

I beg to differ. The questions says he does the laundry 6 more times than he mows the lawn and not he does the laundry 6 times more than he mows the lawn. i think it should be 6 + x.

ok, if I'm to go with that I'll have 0.5(6+x) + 1.25x = 12.75

1.75x=9.75
x=5.57, I don't know doesn't look like a good answer, maybe the analogy i'm using is all wrong then

lets assume the lawn was mowed x times in a month and the laundry y times in a month. the laundry was done 6 more times than the lawn which means y=6x

he was paid $12.75 for the month which basically means: for the x times he did the lawn and 6x times he did the laundry he was paid $12.75. in mathematical terms: 0.5(6x) + 1.25x = $12.75, simplifying will give; 4.25x = 12.75; x=3

therefore he mowed the lawn thrice

I think its 3/8, been a while though so I'm not sure. Since there are 100 seniors and each seniors name entered 3 times so thats 300 entries, 150 juniors entered twice thats another 300 entries then sopohomore's once that makes 800 entries in all, 300 of which are seniors. So probability will be 300/800 which will be 3/8.

wow so many films, I know i'll definitely be going to see the incredible hulk, iron man, speed racer and the dark knight on the big screen. I am hearing forbidden kingdom wasn't that good but thats rumours its not out anyways, Jackie Chan and Jet li in the same film now that will be something.

o you like spoilers, I'll give you the biggest one, Jakes dad dies in the season finale, come to think of it, not that much of a spoiler , another one Eric's (jakes brother) wife dies in one of the later episodes or have u seen that already.

The thing with all this shows is that once they start dropping in ratings the tv executives get edgy, I just hope they don't cancel PB yet. One more season will be just fine.

Ratings for HIMYM were up by an additional 1 million thanks to britney maybe but Sarah chalke of scrubs starred in it too, do you watch scrubs too?I watch it sometimes on tv, don't even know if it has been cancelled or ended yet. There was nothing special about britney in the HIMYM episode, funny her role was that of an emotionally troubled and dumb secretary. I guess playing that wasn't any problem

I don't watch Grey's, ok i think i watched a couple or so last year but desperate housewives naa, too feminine I think. I can't be watching that every week .
