He will assist you to check the SCREEN or the INVERTER/MODULE.
This two things often cause Dim display in a laptop but in extreme cases the motherboard can cause it. In that case the motherboard is not supplying the accurate voltage to the inverter.

Hi, if it is windows password download 'pc unlocker' in .ISO format. Burn it into a blank cd then startup the system with the cd. But if it is a 'power on password' contact me via 08036409952....cause procedure is somehow technical.

Hi, is it power on password. If so contact me via 08036409952. This is because the process for the removal is a bit technical. Moreso, if it is a windows password you can format it but there exist a software you can use to remove it (pc unlocker).

Pr0ton: This has been a burden for me for over 2yrs now. I just abandon the laptop at home till I see any hope of recovery.

I've forgotten the BIOS password, so I can't gain access into the laptop. I've heard of the CMOS battery stuff, but it's useless to me since my laptop, dell inspiron 1100, has no CMOS battery.

I've tried the backdoor password and the ones from password generator, yet none worked.

Well, I don't wanna call Dell, and I'm not willing to change the motherboard.


Someone told me that If I change the hard disk (or mayb hard drive) the BIOS password would get erased. Please how true is this?

valmunich: Please naira landers, just hoping this is the right section to do this, Yesterday evening, it was raining heavily and I tried closing all my windows and then headed for other parts of the house but mistakenly and unluckily for me, I left one open and my laptop was very close to that window, before I Could get back to my room, the rain has drained my laptop though covered, I rushed and closed the window, took my laptop and dried it as fast as I could being a novice to this kind of situation, I tried putting the laptop on(a dell inspiron 5040) but it wouldn't on, the power light shows when put on but subsequently will blink like the laptop is being put to sleep, that's when I knew I was screwed, I messed up by putting it on at first, to cut the whole story short, I have tried drying(turning upside down) for 12 hours now, I don't know if I should on it now to see if it's working. Please guys, I need help urgently, the laptop is still staring at me turned upside down

your ipad has a provision for micro sim. just get one from airtel office. then subscribe to their bb monthly plan. insert inside your ipad and enjoy. See what you should do. Get another charger and try it. The charger should be of the same voltage with the former.Don't connect it to the car battary. Use NEPA or generator light. If it does not power then the fault is from the motherboard. Moreover, you can still waybill the laptop or come down yourself anytime you have the chance. I have a customer from benin and currently i am handling two of his laptop. Just contact me if you decide otherwise.

why did you do that? i quess is ignorant. don't you know that there is assigned voltage for laptop that why they do have assigned charger for a laptop to burnt the charger will burnt instead. i am so sorry to say that you have blowout your motherboard. you are not even sure if it's a workable ic not all are changable. and repairing might be risky also. some other ic might later be affected if it work at all.
