Politics / We Are No Longer In PDP – Governor Wamakko by diranfbi(m): 4:28pm On Dec 09, 2013
Governor of Sokoto Aliyu Wamakko said that the five governors who join APC has left PDP for good.
The governors don’t have future plans to come back to PDP.
But this is politics, who can predict what happens tomorrow?

Daily Post reported that the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that five members of the G-7 PDP governors defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) while Governors Babangida Aliyu of Niger and Sule Lamido of Jigawa said they were still in the PDP.

NAN observed that only Governors Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State, Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State and Babangida Aliyu of Niger of the G-7 attended the meeting with President Jonathan.

The meeting, which started at about 8.45 p.m on Sunday night at the First Lady’s conference room, Presidential Villa, ended around 3.09 a.m. on Monday.

Wamakko, however, said he attended the meeting following a presidential invitation extended to him and his other colleagues.

He said that the meeting afforded him the opportunity to brief President Jonathan that the G-5 Governors who defected were no longer in the PDP because they since moved to another party.

Politics / War In Oyo State by diranfbi(m): 1:46pm On Dec 09, 2013
The former governor of Oyo state Senator Rashidi Ladoja who earlier alleged the All People’s Party (APC) administration led by Senator Abiola Ajimobi (present governor of Oyo state) that they had destroyed the civil service by its sack of some permanent secretaries, got a response from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyo State chapter that Senator Ladoja lacks mental depth to understand modern civil service.

Nairaland / General / 7 Years Jail Term For Social Media Users In Nigeria – Senate by diranfbi(m): 11:19am On Dec 05, 2013

The Nigerian government that once praised the social media has now turned its back on it.
A minister once went around saying that president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration brought Facebook and other social media into Nigeria (Laugh Out Loud).
He is also known to be a great fan of the social media platform.
Due to the fact that the social media has made it easy to expose the ills of the government and ensure that it is spread very fast, the government has seek for a way to control that by making it a crime to talk against them on the different social media platforms.

Romance / 9 Steps To Be A Great Kisser by diranfbi(m): 3:25pm On Dec 04, 2013
1. Prepare your lips. Keep your lips relaxed and open slightly to let your partner know that you are ready for a kiss. Avoid puckering or pursing them, as this will send the wrong message and make French kissing physically difficult.
• Keep your breath fresh by brushing your teeth or popping a breath mint beforehand.
• Tackle dryness with chapstick or by licking your lips slightly. Ladies, try using lip gloss or flavored chapstick to make your lips irresistibly soft and shiny.

2. Set the mood. Let your partner know that you want to kiss him or her by maintaining eye contact and smiling. If you are in the middle of a conversation, then slow it down and lower your voice slightly to signal that you’re ready to stop talking and start smooching.
• Some people get so nervous before the first kiss with a new partner that they end up talking too much in order to fill the silence. Avoid doing this as it could ruin the moment and make your partner lose interest.

3. Lean in for a kiss. Watch your partner as you lean in to determine whether to tilt your head to the left or to the right (move your head in the opposite direction of your partner’ss). You should also tilt your head back slightly and point your lips and chin forward to avoid banging your foreheads together.

4. Start off slow. Keep your lips ever so slightly open, but avoid using your tongue at first. Start off with a few slow, gentle kisses, lingering on your partner’s lips each time.
• Keep things interesting by repositioning your lips in between each kiss. Tilt your head slightly more to the left or slightly more to the right, or switch sides entirely so that your head is now tilted in the opposite direction as before.

5. Open your mouth a little more. Once you have been kissing without tongue for a bit, it’s time to take it to the next level. Lock lips with your partner so that his or her bottom lip is in between your two lips, and then open your mouth slightly to signify that you’re ready to French kiss.

Business / To Succeed In Business, You Have To Network by diranfbi(m): 3:17pm On Dec 04, 2013
To make it in life, you have to make contacts.

Here are some tips to mind when networking:

Be sincere
The last thing people want is to feel harassed and used. When you acquaint yourself with others, don’t be pushy and arrogant; rather, be straightforward and sincere.

Be confident
People like to be associated with confident individuals. If you don’t have a spine, they won’t take the time.

Have an opinion
For people to trust you, they have to respect you. Therefore, it’s a good idea to keep yourself informed and always know what you’re talking about, rather than just looking like you know what you’re talking about. Your point of view might not always coincide with others’, but at least they’ll respect you for voicing it.

Don’t kill the conversation
There is such a thing as overdoing it in a conversation. When you have been speaking for a little while and there isn’t much left to say, exit the conversation smoothly and move on to other people. You don’t want to be caught in a silent gaze with someone you just met.

Leave on a high note
In addition to not talking too long, make sure you end the conversation on a positive note. If you crack a couple of jokes a la Jay Leno and the person seems to like you, there is no need for encores. Simply get the contact info because the show must go on.

Blend in
During social gatherings, you have to blend in with your surroundings and adapt. You don’t want to create a ruckus, but you don’t want to be a fly on the wall either. Learn to associate with others while maintaining your personality.

Don’t ask for favors
One of the most common mistakes people make is appearing too eager and in dire need of professional help. But think about it: People don’t gain anything from assisting helpless souls that reduce themselves to begging. They want to help confident characters that pull their own weight and simply request information and guidance.

Asking for information and tips will get you much further than asking for something to be handed to you on a silver platter. Work toward your goals, but ask for some help along the way.

Search for a mentor
Developing a mentor/student relationship can be very healthy and beneficial, as the mentor looks after his protégé and takes pleasure in guiding him. If you ask to be set on the right track, most people will be glad to help.

Governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomole was caught on tape using unexpected words on a poor widow.

This is least expected from a former labour leader and a current serving governor.
The citizens of the state were not happy with what the governor said to the widow.

Adverts / A 16 Year-old Nigerian Founded A Social Media by diranfbi(m): 3:55pm On Nov 28, 2013

It is hard to believe that a guy from a large and low-income family has managed to promote his own music portal without money and advertisement, and then to sell it to a major communication portal in Nigeria.
But, nevertheless, Dayo Obiora became the local legend, for his friends firstly. It was the wish to fulfill their dream, which led the teenager to the idea of creation of his own music portal.

It all started with a dream and absence of voice.
The teen admitted that he had always dreamed of becoming a musician and even tried to play the guitar. Unfortunately he had neither a good ear for music, nor the voice. His parents, a father, who is a driver, and a mother, who is a primary school teacher, wanted their son to become a successful doctor. Therefore they did their best to collect money for his education. Every month they saved small sums in order to pay for college. However, the boy had low interest in medical handbooks. In order to get closer to his dream, Dayo started communicating with street musicians, which later created a small music band and played in the streets of the city. This is how the guy got his musical surrounding.
According to Dayo, when he listened how his friends play he realized that he would never become a musician. Walking through the streets he also saw scores of talented people who sing, play, but remain unnoticed. And one day he made a decision to help his friends- musicians to become famous, to make their music available for everyone, at all cost. The pocket money, provided by his mother for buying a lunch, was saved in a moneybox. His initial dream was to collect a sum necessary for recording a music album, and to donate this money to friends. The teen also confessed that in many cases he gave his dribblets to musicians in the streets. Not because out of pity for them, but because his heart was aching as the teen saw indifferent faces of people passing by, and heard wonderful music at the same time. The idea that he had no talent, but many other gifted people who had it, but still remained unnoticed, made Dayo really sad.

Music portal just in 2 months.
The parents presented a second-hand computer for Dayo’s birthday. After watching tons of music home videos on the Internet, the teen realized

Sports / Amunike Beat-up Iheanacho's Agent by diranfbi(m): 11:58am On Nov 20, 2013
Emmanuel Amunike a former Super Eagle’s player and current assistant coach of the Nigerian under-17 team that won the just concluded FIFA u-17 world cup was accused of assaulting Kelechi Iheanacho’s American agent at Rockview Hotel Owerri, Imo state at about 6 pm.

The assault occurred based on the decision of the Golden Eaglet star to sign Galliano as his agent contrary to Amunike’s choice. Amunike was said to have recommended an agent for Ihanacho earlier, but he went with the american instead.

As agent, Galliano would be responsible for arranging club transfer deals for Ihenacho, a member of the world-conquering Golden Eaglets.

Iheanacho was selected by FIFA as the best player of the just-concluded FIFA U17 World Cup in the UAE. He has since been linked to top European clubs including FC Porto and Manchester City.

PREMIUM TIMES learnt that Iheanacho has signed an agent deal officially with Galliano with a copy of the agreement sent to the secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF. The agent also confirmed that a copy of the agreement with Iheanacho was submitted to the NFF on October 21.

In a chat with PREMIUM TIMES, Galliano and his Nigerian partner, Solomon Oluwaseun, accused Amuneke of assault; and threatened to press charges against him.

They said the coach invited them for a meeting before he got angry, saying that his (Amuneke’s chosen) agent must be the one to handle Iheanacho’s transfer.

“The coach invited us, we went to see him and he started threatening Kelechi that he should follow him to Abuja to sign with his agent who is working with a Nasiru Jubril, a staff of the NFF; or else Nasiru, the man in charge of the ITC (International Transfer Certificate), will not release kelechi’s ITC to him and they will both make sure that he is banned from Nigeria football; also he will not get a good club.

Entertainment / RA*PE FESTIVAL by diranfbi(m): 11:46am On Nov 20, 2013

This sounds unbelievable but it’s true. I strongly suggest the United Nations should look into this barbaric act.

Men in India are already beginning to celebrate as the annual Assam Rape Festival is just days away. Every non-married girl age 7-16 will have the chance to flee to safety or get raped. Madhuban Ahluwalia who heads up the annual festival told reporters why the event is so important. “This is a long time tradition in Assam dating back thousands of years,” says Ahluwalia. “We rape the evil demons out of the girls, otherwise they will cheat on us and we will be forced to kill them. So it is necessary for everyone.” The Assam Festival began in 43 BC when Baalkrishan Tamil Nadu molested everyone in his village of Doomdooma. Baalkrishan Tamil Nadu is remembered every year at this event, in fact the trophy given to the man with the most rapes is called “The Baalkrishan”. 24-year-old Harikrishna Majumdar told reporters that he has been training all year for this event. “I’m going to get the most rapes this year. I’ve been practicing all year. I rape my sister and her friends every day. I will be rape superstar number one! I will get the Baalkrishan prize this year for sure!” 12-year-old Jaitashri Majumdar told reporters she almost made it through last year’s festival without getting raped. “I came so close to not getting raped. I almost got to the ‘rape-free-zone’ at the edge of town, but......

Celebrities / Genevieve And Kate Henshaw's Feud Continues In Public by diranfbi(m): 6:46am On Nov 19, 2013
The dispute between the two Nollywood damsels Kate Hensaw and Genevieve NNaji was once again exhibited at the wedding ceremony of Peter Okoye of P-Square which took place on Sunday, 17th November, 2013 at the Ark Event center, Lekki.

The two rivals sat on the same table yet did not talk to each other as others around them chatted freely.
Rumours have it that one of the ladies call the other a "Runs girl" a term used for ladies who sleep around with different "rich" men for benefits, while the other called the other a divorcee.

One is not sure what started this prolonged quarrel nor how long it has been.
