Car Talk / Can You Buy A Made In Nigeria Car? by diranfbi(m): 11:56am On Dec 23, 2013
http://e-magin.com/will-you-buy-a-made-in-nigeria-car/

Will you buy a car made by a Nigerian company?

The Federal Government, in a bid to ensure the successful implementation of its recently approved National Automotive Industry Development Plan, said it would encourage local auto manufacturers to produce less expensive models with price range of between N1.2m and N1.5m.

It also said it would collaborate with auto manufacturers, franchise holders, reputable motor dealers and selected banks to put in place an all-inclusive domestic dealership network through which a user-friendly vehicle purchase scheme could be funded by the National Automotive Council.

These are contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the NAC and obtained by our correspondent in Abuja.

The statement said, “Under market development, the NAIDP anticipated that higher-end expensive models will still be imported into the country in the initial stage, but the new strategy is to encourage local auto manufacturers to focus primarily on lower-end less expensive models with price range of between N1.2m and N1.5m; which is affordable to the middle class, coupled with other finance options.”

The statement added that the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Olusegun Aganga, had constituted two committees to ensure seamless implementation of the recently approved automotive plan.

Celebrities / Beyonce Finally Declares She's A Memeber Of Illuminati by diranfbi(m): 12:21pm On Dec 21, 2013
http://e-magin.com/boyounce-finally-declares-publicly-shes-a-memeber-of-illuminati/

In yesterday's much-anticipated interview with Oprah, Beyoncé finally admitted she was a member of the New World Order, also known as the Illuminati.

Rumors have swirled since the episode's taping; many fans wondered why Oprah never questioned the star about her alleged Illuminati ties and commented that it might be due to Oprah's own participation in Illuminati activities.

Less than three seconds into the interview, Oprah turned to Beyoncé and said, "So, you know what I'm gonna say to you ... the Illuminati." From there, Bey delved into her beginnings with the group, their assistance in her rise to fame, and her recent promotion to the highest ranks of the order.

Beyoncé says she finally came clean after feeling guilty over all the undue credit she's been given. "People keep thinking I'm this magical ageless beauty, when really that's the result of consuming all these blood sacrifices." Oprah interjected, "You still work hard, and you're raising a beautiful daughter." Beyoncé remained critical: "People ask me how I juggled my career and pregnancy without understanding that reptilian pregnancies last only 2 months."

Oprah's surprised reaction following this statement has been deemed inauthentic by fans. As godmother to Blue Ivy, she would have presumably been present at both the conception ritual and birth ceremony.

The pinnacle of the interview was when Oprah solemnly asked if the Illuminati was behind the death of Whitney Houston.

Romance / For Men And Woman: Difference Between Wedding & Marriage by diranfbi(m): 1:06pm On Dec 20, 2013
http://e-magin.com/for-men-and-woman-difference-between-wedding-marriage/

As far as many people are concerned, wedding and marriage is a matter of the use of words; they are synonymous. On the other hand, there are those who are of the view that wedding and marriage are two different events in one’s life.

Ideologically, wedding is a one-day ceremony of the beginning a nuptial journey whereby a “life contract” is signed by the couples involved and other witnesses in the public glaring. Therefore, their ideology posits that while wedding is a one-day festivity, marriage is a life time celebration. In other words, marriage is termed life after wedding.

Having said that, another side of the story has it that:
People invest a lot of time, energy and money while perfecting preparation for a spectacular wedding at the expense of other relevant matters, especially issues that are germane to a successful and lasting marriage.

They are of the view that a large percentage of people who are prone to elaborate wedding do not actually have the wherewithal, in practical term, to sustain and maintain such lifestyle after wedding. Consequently, all kinds of matrimonial acrimonies arise, especially financial matters which eventually often lead to divorce.

So, these categories of people wonder why someone would go extra mile badly in debt because of one-day merriment at the expense of their future’s financial well-being. They argue that inasmuch as a celebrated wedding is important, wisdom demands that one exhibit moderation in such a transient event.

One of the supporters of this school of thought is one Alhaji Mutiu Agbede, a Nigerian politician and businessman. In a chat with him, having been married for 16 years, he is of the opinion that considerable planning for marriage should be prioritised, not excessive spending on a one-day festivity.

According to him:“One can have a low-key wedding or an elaborate wedding; it depends of the financial capability of the persons involved. Wedding is just a day ceremony while marriage is for a lasting period of time. What matter most in marriage is the caring that must be invested in the marriage by both couples.

Celebrities / 8 Celebs That Tormented Us In 2013 by diranfbi(m): 9:25am On Dec 20, 2013
http://e-magin.com/8-celebs-that-tormented-us-in-2013/

2013 was a very eventful year for us here. We saw the worst of the worst all in the name of “celebrity”! We saw popular people with no talent become more popular, we saw people with no style at all torture our eyes on every red carpet.

This list names 8 people who tormented us in 2013, and whom we really wish they could ” make it stop”. So these people are what I would like to call, the train wrecks of the year:

1. Tonto Dike
From her crappy music, to her even crappier acting, down to her tacky style choices, this council member of the bleachers inc is certainly a train wreck.

2. Davido
What Davido lacks in talent, he makes up with a HUGE ego.
This noise maker is a product of a massive PR machine, oiled by (as we hear) family money.

3. Muna
If Muna would get off fighting with anyone who describes her lack of talent on Twitter, maybe, just maybe she would have one hit song.

4. Toyin Lawani
We woke up one morning and Toyin lawani was everywhere.
This stylist (her words not mine) and chairperson of the Bleachers INC is clearly the joke of the year. She’s currently pregnant, so I will try to be nice (lol).

5. Cossy Orjiakor
I cringe whenever someone refers to Cossy as a Nollywood actress.
So showing off humoungous “oranges” and a flabby body in the most rachet way possible qualifies her as an actress? Shame!!

6. Afrocandy
This “I am getting old, but I must be talked about” woman is hilarious joke.
She is described as a producer/director of soft bad movies, which she often features in.

7. Maheeda
I certainly don’t know how to classify this woman. I am not quite sure what she does, besides showing off her “vijayjay” on Instagram and there seems to be no stopping her.

8. Uche Jumbo
I am not big on Nollywood, but I hear that Uche Jumbo’s acting has improved.
I also hear that she has become a film maker, which is good too. However she is on this list because of her style or lack of it.

If “ONLY” Nelson Mandela was a Nigerian?? I am beginning to think South African’s are not so creative? Had Madela been Nigerian….hmmmmm;
1. The corpse will stay in the morgue for 5yrs to enable government prepare for “befitting” burial.
2. Government will set up burial planning committee with power to award contracts to construct new roads leading to Mandela’s home town, construction of new airport, importation of bullet proof hearse that will carry the corpse, construction of new stadium for burial reception, new presidential jet, etc.,
3. The national Assembly will pass new budget to accommodate burial expenses.
4. There will be a national aso ebi (uniform) imported from Holland, which will be made compulsory for every Nigerian to buy, sew and wear.
5. During the 5 years of mourning, Governors, traditional rulers, students bodies will struggle to book for appointments to visit and pay condolence to Mr President.

Celebrities / Kanye West Says He's The Next Mandela by diranfbi(m): 1:07pm On Dec 16, 2013
http://e-magin.com/kanye-west-says-he-is-the-next-mandela/
I will rather call him “Kolo West”.
This guy does not seem to be getting any better mentally, unfortunately.
We are all aware of Kanye’s recent series of controversy. From saying he’s more influential than the US president Barrack Obama to beating up a paparazzi, also saying his girlfriend Kim is the most beautiful lady in the world and much more.
His latest happened in an interview with WGCI radio in Chicago, the notoriously self-promoting rapper said that the death of the 95-year-old South African leader will finally allow people to focus more of their attention on West’s own accomplishments.

In the studio to promote his new music video Bound 2, the conversation soon turned to the day’s biggest news out of South Africa. West was asked who he thought on the world stage today could possibly replace Nelson Mandela in terms of leadership, and his unconventional answer left heads spinning.

“I am the next Nelson Mandela,” West responded. “I’m only 36 years old, and when I look at everything I’ve accomplished, it’s the only comparison that makes any sense. By the time I’m 95, I’m going to be a bigger hero than he ever was.

“Nelson Mandela did a lot of good work, don’t get me wrong. But I think I’m on track to do something even bigger. I liberate minds with my music. That’s more important than liberating a few people from apartheid or whatever.

“Not to say Mandela wasn’t for real. I have mad respect. I just think we need to keep things in perspective here. Anyone can be replaced. And I think I’m well on my way towards being the next great black leader. I’m already worshiped around the world. And there’s more to come.”

Health / 10 Ways To Stay Fit And Healthy by diranfbi(m): 1:50pm On Dec 14, 2013
Health is Wealth! We need to do whatsoever we need to do to stay healthy!
Our health is what keeps us going. Our businesses, family, career and so on will suffer on the long run if we do not take cognisance of our health.

Here are some ways to ensure a healthy lifestyle:
http://e-magin.com/10-ways-to-stay-fit-and-healthy/
1. Kick Your Bad Habits
Well, some of them at least. The other ones you might just be able to cut back on. Habits in the “quit” category would be smoking, drugs, unsafe sex and other unhealthy addictions. There’s just no way to do any of these in a “healthy” way. It might take some time, but it’s worth it if you want to lead a healthy lifestyle. On the other hand, there are some habits that are not so bad, but can easily become a problem if taken too far. These include alcohol, sugar, caffeine and junk food. These things in moderation or on a “once-in-a-while” basis are doable, as long as the majority of your choices are mindful and healthful.

2. Get Your Checkups
Photo Caption Get to your doctor for your annual physical. Photo Credit Jochen Sands/Digital Vision/Getty Images
Get to your doctor for your annual physical just to make sure everything is as it should be. If you have insurance, usually these services are covered, so take full advantage of your benefits. That being said, know your own body so that you are aware when something seems awry. Do breast or testicular self-exams, and get suspicious moles checked out. Get exams regularly even if you are healthy, so that if and when something is abnormal, you know about it and can take action, in conjunction with your doctor.

3. Sleep
Photo Caption Sleep affects our physical and mental health tremendously, and many of us do not get enough. Photo Credit Konstantin Yuganov/iStock/Getty Images
Sleep affects our physical and mental health tremendously, and many of us do not get enough. Lack of sleep adversely affects metabolism, mood, concentration, memory, motor skills, stress hormones and even the immune system and cardiovascular health. Sleep allows the body to heal, repair and rejuvenate itself in a way it simply cannot when a person is awake.

4. Exercise
Photo Caption Even if you just get out for a walk a few times a week, exercise is important for being fit and healthy. Photo Credit Pixland/Pixland/Getty Images
Even if you just get out for a walk a few times a week, exercise is important for being fit and healthy. Cardiovascular exercise helps to strengthen the heart and lungs, strength training helps to strengthen the muscles and stretching helps to reduce the risk of injury by increasing flexibility. Exercise also improves circulation and body awareness, and regular exercise can help combat depression.

5. Eat Healthfully
Photo Caption Get as many fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet as possible and make them the main part of your overall diet. Photo Credit Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Getty Images
Get as many fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet as possible and make them the main part of your overall diet. Include lean sources of protein such as poultry, fish, tofu and beans. Eat balanced meals and do not overeat. Stop eating before you become completely full and give yourself a chance to digest your food. Snack on whole foods such as fruit, vegetables and nuts. Avoid highly processed foods that contain artificial sweeteners or colors, hidden sugars or excessive fat.

Celebrities / Touching Story! Diego Frazao Torquato by diranfbi(m): 9:57am On Dec 12, 2013

The boy who cries in the photo is Diego Frazao Torquato, who played the violin in the String Orchestra of the Afro Reggae. Afro Reggae is a non-profit organization that gives kids hope and an escape from their impoverished and crime ridden environments. The occasion was the funeral of his social project coordinator, Evandro João Silva, who was murdered in downtown Rio. Diego contracted meningitis at age four, aggravated by pneumonia, and struggled with memory difficulties.
He still managed to learn the violin. Diego, born and raised in the slums of Parada de Lucas, dreamed that the violin would take him to see the world. Sadly, shortly after this photo was taken Diego died of acute leukemia and meningitis. He depended on the help of machines to regulate blood pressure and had a cardiac arrest.. At Diego’s funeral José Júnior, the coordinator of Afroreggae stated, “I think the legacy of Diego is hope, it is the willingness to change, to transform”.

Celebrities / Why Oprah Winfrey Will Never Have Children. REVEALED! by diranfbi(m): 9:04am On Dec 12, 2013
A lot of people in the world have been wondering why one of the richest and influential woman in the world never had kids. Some people have been speculating if she was barren or have an health issue.
Anyway, the ice has been broken and we have heard from the horse’s mouth.
Here is what Oprah had to say:

“If I had kids, my kids would hate me. They would have ended up on the equivalent of the Oprah show talking about me; because something in my life would have had to suffer and it would’ve probably been them.
Gayle was the kind of kid who, in seventh grade home class, was writing down her name and the names of her children. While she was having those kind of daydreams, I was having daydreams about how I could be Martin Luther King.”

First African-American female billionaire, one of the richest women on the planet, 59 years old Oprah Winfrey said this in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Winfrey, at 14 gave birth to a baby who only lived for a number of weeks.

Gayle is her best friend and is a mother of two.

Nairaland / General / Enugu Women Protest Ritual Murder Of Nine Women, Forceful Marriage To Deities by diranfbi(m): 2:17pm On Dec 11, 2013
I wonder when all these crazy acts will come to an end.
Lives of innocent citizens been taken for almost just any reason.
It’s high time the government did something about this.

Our Source has the report.
Angry residents of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State stormed the Enugu State Government House on Tuesday, protesting the ritual murder of no less than nine women from different communities in the area.

The protesters, mostly women, who were clad in black and black alleged that chief priests of different deities in the area collaborated with the ritualists in carrying out the dastardly act.

Apart from the ritual killing, the women equally condemned forceful marriage of their daughters to deities.

They cited cases of Amachalla and Ugbaike communities, where two ladies – Victoria Ugwuanyi and Rosemary Ugwuanyi – were forcefully “married” to a deity called “Iyakpala Ugbaike.”

The chief priest of the deity is alleged to have also forced the daughter of a deceased man to marry him after claiming that the same deity killed the father of the girl.

The women holding palm leaves, pleaded with Governor Sullivan Chime to ban forceful marriages to deities in the council and to also prevail on security agencies to put an end to the ritual murder.

The petition they submitted to the Governor read in part, “We strongly appeal to Governor Sullivan Chime to look into the gruesome murders, investigate the cases with the aim of uncovering the perpetrators and bringing them to book.

Politics / Senate Reverses 7 Year Jail Term For Social Media Critics by diranfbi(m): 2:02pm On Dec 11, 2013
After much pressure and negative publicity that came along with the bill proposed by the Nigerian senate to jail social media critics for 7 years, the senate has reversed the decision.
The suggestion should not have come to life in the first place, bearing in mind that Nigeria is a developing country with freedom of speech and information, and we know the advantage the internet is playing to achieve development.
Anyway, it’s good thing that they have changed their minds about the bill.

Punch reported that the Senate on Tuesday rescinded its decision to pass a bill that seek to jail online critics of the government seven years. By this the Senate had bowed to pressure over criticisms that had greeted its proposed bill on electronic transactions and fraud detection, which stipulated a seven-year jail term for any user of social media who post information that threatened the security of the country.

Specifically, section 13 (3) of the draft bill stipulates that “any person who intentionally propagate false information that could threaten the security of the country or that is capable of inciting the general public against the government through electronic message shall be guilty of an offence and upon conviction, shall be sentenced to seven years imprisonment, or a fine of N5m, or both.”

The controversies that the provision of the bill generated after the public hearing two weeks ago, attracted negative publicity for the Senate.

But the sponsor of the bill, Senator Adegbenga Kaka, in company with the Chairman, Senate Committee on Information, Media and Public Affairs, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe announced to journalists on Tuesday that the offending clause had been deleted from the bill.

“I have the permission of the senate leadership to announce to the world that that the section 13 (3) shall be deleted,” he said.

Kaka added, “The bill that I presented to the Senate, precisely on July 28, 2011, was a bill to regulate the electronic transfer of funds and after presentation, by the time we got to the second reading there was a remark that a similar bill was tabled before the sixth senate by Senator Ayo Arise.

“I was then asked to go and rework my own and marry it with that of Senator Arise. In the course of doing it, a bill for an act for the prohibition of all electronics transfer, all electronics transaction fraud and electronic transfer transactions in Nigeria and other related matters was presented.

“It passed through the first reading, and the second reading and last week, there was a public hearing by the joint committee on Judiciary, narcotics.”

Ronaldo is greatly inform but went trophyless last season. Ribery is a good player and won the tripple last season. Messi is the all time world best but having injury problem this season and won a trophy last season. I think it should go to Ribery. I had always fancy Ronaldo and especially Messi, but Ribery should snatch it this time.

Nice analysis, but I think it might go to Ronaldo this time around. If not for anything, for compensation/pity.
