Replacing J30 with J35 is POSSIBLE.

Its done everywhere, consciously and otherwise.

I have replaced j35 with J30 on my personal Van.. Its still serving the current owner.

I have also slapped in a complete J30 engine and transmission into a 1999 honda odyssey.

Same harness.

Same ECU.

It was a plug and play.

And it worked.

This is HONDA.

I don't think it is Z1. Please verify. It uses the Honda CVT fluid. It is just called CVT fluid. Its a nice little car with plenty of room inside and a generous boot. The fuel efficiency is amazing if you keep speed below 100km/hr.

Honda city car is one of d best car manufactured.It is smooth while driving n fuel ecomomy is second to none.It is less expensive to maintain.Recommended transmission fluid is Z1.

Anyways, like I replied earlier.. He should look for a J30 engine.. But a J35 engine won't do any harm.. Only extra power and reduced mpg..

Personally, I was getting 18mpg city driving and 23mpg highway on my 2002 odyssey with factory J35 engine.

I replaced the engine with a J30 engine and guess what?

I got 19 mpg city driving and 25mpg highway.

Am sure the OP has mounted the J35 engine already, and it worked.

check what u wrote n see how they relate.Where were u trained?

Different camshaft profiles, different injectors, fuel and ignition maps. The J35 can end up delivering less power in the Accord, due to lean running, incorrect knock control etc.[/color]

J30 is a V6 3.0 Litre engine which comes in most honda accord, and Honda odyssey 1997-1999. There are variants of this engine.

J35 is V6, 3.5 Litre engine which comes in a Honda odyssey 1999-2001, honda pilot, acura mdx et al .

Look for a J30 engine. There is a difference in mpg for both engines.

There is no harm in using a J35 engine, tho. But anticipate lower mpg.


Personally, I'll go for the J35 engine. It churns out more hp. Up to 240hp for the highest variant..

P.S, I did a J30 transplant on my honda oddysey 2001. I got improved Mpg, and drop in power.

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has said that he has no apology over the controversial advertisement he placed in newspapers on Monday, January 19.

Fayose stated this via a statement released on Tuesday, January 20, in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
