Hi guys, I'm Grace Ademola. But my name has changed to Grace Adeoti after I married Bidemi Adeoti. Great waters had gone under the bridge as they will say. But I must hint you that I poured a lot of water too under that bridge. Of recent I met officer Yemi, a police officer whose life had been interwhined with mine and he told me he saw someone that looked like my husband. Though Bidemi died last year, I want to be sure he is not the one.

I'm Bidemi Adeoti. I'm presently in an induced coma. I'll wake in June 2017. And I won't remember anything from my past. So, let me quickly tell you about myself. I have had series of issues that haunt me consistently. The latest being that some men haunted and killed me because I created a car that uses water instead of petrol. In this my induced coma, I'm seeing a future where water would be a problem- lack of it and abundance of it. My dreams come true. But as I said when I wake I won't remember who I am or anything.

as many as you want, as far its not going to confuse someone.

there's this guy I would have loved to meet from another fenced heart. that guy in the dark with the baby. so bad we never got to see his face.
Lol...

For the characters, you can't be confused. You said stories na...

And I take all my characters seriously.

As for that guy, funny enough he was a lose end. I don't know him also. But I'm trying to make him John in the part two. I hope I'm not spoiling John's reputation.

As I sat in the office, I chewed my pen again, knowing the outcome of a useless day like this. The protesters would make some useless noise like the wailer they are and they would return home tired. The next day, they return to their normal way of life.

I tuned off the radio in my office, switched off my phone data, and even proceeded to switch of the phone, but I stopped myself. I had been trying to reach my girlfriend since morning. Normally, we make plans on what to the previous day but I wasn't able to charge the battery of my phone. Who Could?

President Buhari is someone I hate to think about. I never voted him. I never voted. Yet, I suspected things would go wrong. From onset, I knew he would be a lie just like his 'laiing' information minister. How would things not go wrong? President Buhari was announced as the winner of the election on April 1st. Nobody saw anythong wrong in that. But I did. I always do. And I told them, but none listened. He was another prank on Nigerians.

My phone rang. It was her. ' Ann, where have you been-'
But she cut me short. ' Baby... Police is harassing me..'
' Why?'
' They said I stood with tuface'.
' Why are you standing with him?'
' I'm not standing anywhere ... They are trying to take me away..but some guys are.. come down here'.
' Where are you?' I said as I rose from my chair, having dropped all I held with me. ' Where's here'.
' At Ikeja...Near your office'.
She was just near my place of work. I dropped my car, which I had picked in a haste.
' I will be there.. Ah... ' I screamed as I put off my suit.

Then I remembered Ann wouldn't support that. These guys are in serious trouble. One, for touching my girlfriend. Two, for harassing her. I rushed there and I saw a lot of policemen stationed at the back of the protesters who kept moving peacefully. I wasn't scared. I strive in such situation. Who wouldn't? If you were born and raised in Oshodi?

It took me a great effort not to run immediately I got out of the company. The moment I got there, I became confused. Instead of Ann arguing with the police it was some thugs.
' How you go dey touch am?'
'If you touch am, I go shoot you', a policeman said.
' S.O leave am for me. God wan do am'.

I hurried towards Ann and made sure I spoke audibly, 'who touched you?'
Ann turned the moment she felt my touch. ' No.. No.. It's over'.

She pushed me. Police and The Thugs were still arguing. Her oval eyes penetrated into my soul. I remembered why she was insistent on my not fighting. We had been dating for three years now. She became a Christian last three months and I just did last Sunday. I changed because she change, in a lot of ways, from a lot of things. I loved the change I saw in her. Normally, she would have broken a bottle on the Policeman's head. She had done more than that. For example, fighting a soldier without fear.

' Just tell me Ann... What would a Christian do here?'
' Jesus said we should turn the other cheek'.
' Are you for real?'
' Chuks.. nor do this. Let's go'.
After about five minutes of restraining me, and for the fact the police were focused on the hoodlums, I agreed with her.

' Who are those guys arguing with the police?'
' They stopped the police from harassing me'.
By this time, the police and the hoodlums had moved away from each. Maybe because none of the protesters cared.

I beckoned to the hoodlums and told them I really appreciated their effort. I told Ann to borrow me three thousand naira, which I gave them. They hailed. Some jeered at the police. And I went my way, holding firmly to my girlfriend.

Later in the night, when the street was dry, when I was tired of work, I drove off. There was no girl to return home to. After Ann became converted she stopped sleeping over at my place. Then I saw some policemen and one of the thugs exchanging envelope. I looked away. As a street boys, I've learnt you don't stare. There, I understood that the evidence the Nigerian police claimed they had was never there. They would have created an evidence through that fight. If I wasn't a Christian, I would have started a riot like the 2012 riot which happened during protest against fuel subsidy.

I like the idea but in order not to make it more of reader's choice, why not create a criteria for nominating them. You can take for examples: Authors whose story have made FP so so and so times.

Even God had to talk about the ignorance of the people. Politicalthug had misplaced his usefulness and embarked on an unending journey by trying to discredit or make writers feel worthless. Even if he had tried it on other section, he shouldn't have brought it near writers who may devote their years of writing to discredit, disgrace, disfigure his little usefulness on Nairaland. I might not be hurt if he had said anything about me. But I'm hurt to see him go about on this section to discredit nairaland writers. Humans are supposed to be ray of hope for those using their brain. But he's not encouraging them in anyway.
If you think you are a writer on this platform, you are yet to stand amongst the great writers many of this your so called 'wannabes' have gotten to. Many of them might have not gotten where they want to, but they have hope. So, before you try to blow it off, we will shove you out. Thanks sir Eze2000

Well, I've learned to read terrible comments made by people who may not know what they are saying, smile at their ignorance, and move on. I have nothing to prove to anyone. I just do my thing. Everyone is entitled to his opinion, no matter how preposterous.

I should have insulted the guy, but he's not my friend. I insult only my friends. cheesy

One very funny thing about being a writer :everybody wants to be one too. Many want to tell the stories we tell. A good example is Politicalthug who believes writers are lazy because they don't update on time.
Let me tell you how I survive writing my storie. Peju Amadi (Repogirl) and Humbledbygrace have continually told me how much they want to update as regularly as I. But the truth is that any day they update, their works always come out better than mine. Many people use laptop to write and update per time, but I use my phone. Writing with laptop expands your mind(for me). Writing with Wps on an andriod device can be slow, but I manage to write close to 2000 words per day. Bibijay123 can bear me witness, editting with WPS can be really frustrating. And the funniest part is that after writing and the first editting you will notice you've spent close to 4 hours. Yet, there would still be errors which can only be seen by a laptop or after reading it another day. I wrote the Unknown shadows, Her Beauty Calls, Comfortless Arms, Die oh Baby die(aka Life Under The Table) etc with phones. So you see the problem those with Android face.
What about those that type directly with smaller phones? It takes instinct. They have the story playing on their mind but to type it is not easy.

What about that use Itel, who post just because they want to be better. Writers on this forum are really trying their best. Any reader who wants to criticise should remember their pain. Point out errors and lapses but don't ask them how come they never improved( especially when they say they've been studying) like someone asked Audreytimms one of those days. Funny enough many of you don't even drop comments. You don't give them money. You don't comment on the blogs of those that have it. Even to buy their books na wahala. Larrysun writes into paper before typing and used to type with a blackberry phone.
Ask yourself why good writers are not encouraged to write on. People like my ogaz Royver, Kayemjay, Frank316, Glowingscenes, Ekaromail, Sammyhoe, D9ty7. They squeeze their time to drop updates. I read most of politicalthug's posts and I saw how he kept calling stories Useless and I wonder if he had conjured any story since his inception. I ought to keep quiet but it's high time we shut some people up.
Their works have been plagiarised times without number and they kept writing but your own poem was plagiarised once and you stopped writing. So, learn how to accord respect whom it is due.

Literature › Re: Why Do We Have Lazy Writers That Post Uninteresting Stories On This Section? by Divepen1(mod): 1:24pm On Jan 30, 2017
I think the op has a history of calling writers useless.
Well, the type of mind a man has will make him see everyone as a particular thing or the other. In other words, only a useless man calls others useless- basic psychology.
