This their information doesn't give one enough clarity about the practical classes attendance

Is it everyday everyone across all departments will be going to VI or practical venues for 3 weeks straight (from May 2 to May 20) at the same time?
Where's the money to burn on tfare for it and do they really have the space and resources to cater for everyone's attendance?

I saw a schedule daily timetable per practical course in 2 batches A & B in one Abeokuta study center on telegram but I don't know it it applies to all study centers in the country or it's only for Abeokuta study center.

So confused right now with questions and no one to answer them🤦.

Pls is it true that the LAGOS MAINLAND CENTRE 1 STUDENTS is for Apapa study center and not VI study center?

If yes, when is the SIWES defense date for VI study center
DivergentSony:
Pls someone who is knowledgeable about SIWES should answer this.

The ITF Form that they said must be signed and stamped, is it signed and stamped by my employer at IT placement or I'll take it to ITF office to sign and stamp it?

Is there anything I need to go and do at ITF office before defense date?

Submission and Defense is this week. I want to be sure I have everything in place.

Oh! Don't mind Seun Osewa and his Programming gimmicks😂, he has definitely blacklisted or programmed his nairaland to remove telegram's chat root domain (t(.)me) like he does for any CTA link that most people use like wa(.)me, WhatsApp group links & bit(.)ly to stop them from stealing traffic from nairaland 😂, unless you pay for ads/traffic.

Just add t(.)me to the prefix (beginning) of the link. It'll go.

And what's the meaning of 23 units showing on the menu section of my nouonline.net portal?

Does it mean it's a max 23 Unit total courses I can register this semester?

Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by DivergentSony: 12:56pm On Mar 08, 2023
OK, great, that's exactly what I've been trying to do too. I was even able to mark out CIT191 which I've done as CIT292 with the same name. I noticed it was showing in nouonline as outstanding but was not on support.nouedu.ng at all.

The same thing too for CIT423. It's on nouonline as outstanding but was not on support.nouedu.ng at all and it's not also on the faculty of science course list for info tech https://fos.nou.edu.ng/b-sc-information-technology/ which is my dept.

The only worrisome thing for me right now is it's showing as a compulsory course (C) on my nouonline.net course list for 400L 1st semester.
I'm confused if I should do it or not because all my course unit I calculated this semester that I'm meant to do this semester is around 24/25 unit is.
Enskynelson:

Go to support.nou.edu.ng
Login and download your result. You will find outstanding courses listed there. Check them to know what you are left with. Secondly, if you have registered this semester, try to REGISTER COURSES from 100L first semester to your current level to know if you have anything left behind. Compare what u have there with what is in the result you downloaded. Prior knowledge of change in course codes is desired for effective analysis. For instance FMS207 is the same is BUS207. If you have done FMS207, you may still see BUS207 listed as outstanding. Such outstanding should not be considered as you have done and passed the same course with different code.

Pls, who can explain how to do portal analysis of all courses as a final year student in order to graduate?
Some of the courses in my outstanding courses on support.nou.edu.ng are courses I have done before and it's still showing as outstanding courses.

Going through my nouonline.net portal level by level, I can see both courses I've already done and some I missed at 100L & 200L. I'm confused how it happened especially the ones I missed maybe they were new courses added while I paused my studies years back.

If someone has already passed a particular level e.g 300L and they add new courses to 100/200L, is it compulsory to take those newly added courses before you one can graduate?

First class?🙄 So you want First class or a certificate to define your success in life😒, dey play, just dey play 😂

Form1 - Request for Placement of Student Letter
Form2 - ACCEPTANCE OF SIWES PLACEMENT
Form3/4 - SIWES EMPLOYER’S EVALUATION FORM

Form1 is for you to take to your place of attachment seeking for approval to do SIWES in their place
From2 This is filled by your employer after accepting you to begin SIWES in their establishment
Form3/4 Is the form the employer will use to evaluate you. After the evaluation, you are required to take same to you study centre. This form is normally filled after you have completed your SIWES.

The above are a the forms.
Under logbook and forms, just convert the above forms at the end of your SIWES to a single document pdf and upload.
Take the same and submit at your study centre.
Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by DivergentSony: 4:20pm On Feb 15, 2023
OK, that's Placement Acceptance letter/form stamped and signed at my IT place. I took it to my faulty but the person that attended to me didn't collect it. She just told me to bring it back on the day of defense and I will upload it on the day of or after defense.
I don't know if that's the new way they do it.

What about SCAF form? You have an idea where and when I'm submitting that one?
Enskynelson:

Yes. But the form is meant to be uploaded back to siwes.nouedu2.net. The form is printed for the same site and after signing should be uploaded back there.
Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by DivergentSony: 3:14pm On Feb 15, 2023
Pls is there any form I have to submit to either school or the ITF office within 2 weeks of my commencement of SIWES? Maybe like SCAF form?

I was watching a YouTube tutorial on logbook filling now and the person said SCAF is to be submitted with 2 weeks once I find a place for my IT. I don't know if that applies to NOUN.

The only form I know that requires submission within 2 weeks is Job Reporting form and it's like it's no longer required as I heard, it's not available on the SIWES portal again.

Samisha500 pls I need your reply too on this, thanks.
Enskynelson:

There are places for the supervisor at where you do your SIWES to sign.
Make sure the date and stamp on the acceptance letter are appropriate.

Is is applicable for students studying information technology too or it's only computer science?

On the announcement paper carrying the list of the old courses and their corresponding new course codes & names during last year's exam, it's the CIT342 & CIT308 is only showing under computer science section, not on information technology dept.

That's why I'm asking to be sure.

DivinityVen:
Yes 308 is now the new course code, even if you register the old course code what u will see in the timetable for exam will be cit308.

ANY 300L INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY STUDENT HERE (2ND SEMESTER TO BE PRECISE) WHO HAS PAID HIS/HER SCHOOL FEES THIS SEMESTER?

Pls help me check if it's CIT342 or CIT308 that is showing in your portal as part of your registrable courses this semester?

I heard they replaced CIT342 as an old course with CIT308 last semester for computer science students but I don't know if that's the case too for students studying information technology.

I registered it last semester but left the exam because it's a hard course and not easy to assimilate 😰 So I'm thinking of swapping CIT342 Formal Languages and Automata theory out with CIT308 Formal Methods and
Software Development

OK, thank you very much🙏.

So the next steps I should take now is to take the signed placement letter to my faculty, upload it and start filling my SIWES logbook right?

P.S: What signing do I need to do on my logbook and where do I do the signing?
Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by DivergentSony: 1:12pm On Feb 08, 2023
Ah! is there no way I can backdate my starting date to meet up six months so I can defend it this semester? grin
I'm in 400L 2nd semester which is my last semester and I waito make sure I finish everything about NOUN this semester and make graduation list this year.

Though I paid and registered the SIWES on the SIWES mylearningspace portal since 2021 in 300L, can't I just edit my starting date to meet up the 6 months duration requirement in the SIWES record on SIWES portal and on my SIWES logbook?

Is it from the time I go to desk officer to submit acceptance letter from my place of IT they'll count the 6 months from or the date I filled in the logbook & placement acceptance letter as my starting date?
Education / Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by DivergentSony: 4:56am On Feb 08, 2023
Pls who has recently concluded his/her SIWES last year or very knowledgeable about SIWES?

Which form is Job Reporting Form (004) and how can I get it?

It's not on the SIWES portal, it's only placement form, acceptance & employer's evaluation form that's there.

Secondly if I start my SIWES this semester, is it possible/will they allow me defend it this semester in April according to the academic calendar? The defense is by April.
I'm a final year student.
