Reports suggest discussions are at a preliminary stage at this point.

Yahoo has been attempting to sell off its search, mail and news sites for some time, as its seen massive profit declines in recent years.

Back in 2008, Microsoft tried unsuccessfully to buy Yahoo for around 45 billion US dollars.
