You shouldn't have shown the website to your clients in that form. You should have sent the homepage in jpg format. That is, preview the page and press 'Print Screen' on your keyboard. Then paste on your workspace (a graphics editor like photoshop). Save and send to him/her. The worst he will do is to start designing afresh using your own format. Sure you know he cant. He cant even edit it, copy codes, It would be purely read-only. When he pays, you start designing. Why should my clients make a down payment? They pay in FULL. Well, it depends on where you have reached in the buisness. Note, the more professional word used for what you meant was MOCK COPY not DEMOS. |
Mindsets like this will do nothing but make you a second-class learner. |
kooldamsel, please be more polite in your writings. |
I lent a neighbour my flash drive. On getting it, I discovered it was infected. Can you imagine that the virus is so powerful that it closes any operations that wants to clean it away from my system. A friend sent me an antivirus into my box. When I tried reading the mail, it closed that window. I bought a new 2009 bitdefender antivirus (about 30,000 Naira). It did not allow it to play, talkless of installing it. It shuts it down whenever its initiating. I'm fed up right now. Where should I go? |
Fellow webmasters, you see that's the way it is when you don't understand the nitty-grittys of a buisness before going into it. This is not music, you don't create demos for your clients. You create a mock-copy! |
Good post, magnam! |
Guys, please place your answers close to your questions. Some people are simply reading! |
Heeey poster, some OSUites are reading! |
Andala, this is NAIRALAND. I think you should have posted this in DOLLARLAND! |
Costy, the school determines whether you did well or not, NOT YOU. You know you are not the only one applying for the admission in the school; brainiacs from around the country have come to compete for that little space. For a school like UI, you have to work extra hard from your O' levels, to UME and P-UME to fall in their "smart-ones" list. They thought you weren't dim-witted afterall, that's why they offered you botany. Are you sure you met ALL the criteria for medicine? |
HELLO JAMBITE. I AM A 1ST YEAR MEDICAL STUDENT (2008/2009) IN ONE OF OUR GOVERNMENT UNIVERSITIES HERE IN NIGERIA. I HAVE THIS LITTLE SECRET TO SHARE. I HOPE IT HELPS- 1st, I want to advice you all to beleive you can only get admission (and your preferred course) by reading. The universities are earnestly in search of bright minds that will fill the little space they have. When I realized this, (although not late in life- I got admission early) I worked on it. I read every topic in the JAMB syllabus (my 4 subjects) and I got used to the system which the university use in setting P-UME questions before the P-UME exams. I was so satisfied with my thorough knowledge on the subjects and to the glory of God I passed well in my exams (the both.) I was far above the computed cut-off mark for the school. I was chosen. Only 32 of us out of more than 2500 candidates- I wasn't an indigene. UNIVERSITIES MUST GIVE THEIR BEST CANDIDATES ADMISSION. Now, I want to point your attention on this- I think it's more advisable to choose a federal and state university as your first and second choice respectively when filling your form. My 2nd choice admission (a state) was positive- medicine & surgery. UNIVERSITIES (mainly state) RECOGNIZES 2ND CHOICE, DON'T ALLOW ANYONE DECIEVE YOU. But try to pass very well. Apart from just reading, get used to the admission requirements for your course. It's important. 2ndly, Clean of the mindset that admission in Nigeria is only by knowing someone, cheating or paying some people. This will lead you KNOW WHERE. I know of people that knew the provost of the college of medicine that missed admission. And note, ADMISSION RACKETEERING IS A VERY SERIOUS OFFENSE. PLEASE DON'T DO IT. Someone I heard of payed his way into my school- a 2nd year student. He was allowed to pay the school fees (you know how comparatively large that of medicine is) and other necessary fees before he was sent home. Some universities will even wait till 300L or 400L. This mindset will also prevent you from putting your best into your preparation- It really poisens your zeal. Here I must say "GET CORRECT INFORMATION." It's your life! You are the one who wants the admission, not them. You want a good future for yourself. The may not know that. At the end of it all, they will only say "eh yah, sorry." Don't allow anyone sit somewhere and feed you with lies and stories. Update yourself with the latest and correct information everytime. You may have to go down to the school sometimes. Be very serious during the course of your preparation. You really have to discipline yourself on many things- Association, sleep, food et al. It's just for a short time. Lastly, PRAYER IS VERY IMPORTANT. Imagine situations like lost scripts, cancellation of centers et al. All these are beyond your control. You need God to work on your behalf. Remember, starting early pays more. I see you in school this coming year. I see you getting the course of your choice. It's very possible, stay positive. 07030604262 |

Thanks a lot posters. Yes, I also heard OOU is standard in terms of facilities (which is what I'm really concerned about) or what do you think guys? |
Please NLDers do you have any news about UNIJOS 2008/2009 admission? |
Please NLDers, I need to study medicine & surgery in one of these state univerisities- LAUTECH, OLABISI ONABANJO OR LASU. Please tell me which one with reasons. I will also appreciate it if u rank them for me. Thank you. |
Come down to the school. Everything will go so easy or call 07030604262. The guy has the list with him and he will tell you if your name is there. Acceptance fee payment closes 17th November, 2008. |
yeah, the list came out some weeks ago. |
Hello Nairalanders, I think i need your opinion on this- Why do almost all students want to study medicine & surgery nowadays. It's so scary to see the number of applicants that put in for the course in univeristies even though there are few spaces available. Aren't there super courses also? The most surprising fact is that it's the same thing in some other countries in africa and abroad. I need your views all. |
Yeah, the merit list was posted in the tribune last week monday! Acceptance 30,000 before 17th november. |
Hey man. You just said it, "Religion forbids it" Or do you want to go to hell? It's a temporary pleasure and it's not worth it. Pease CHANGE and I bet you will be very glad you did. |
Nairalanders! I haven't gotten any order yet, please. |
Good job poster. I really appreciate this piece. The act is really disgusting and I hope they all CHANGE! |
Possesed? My dog! |
please help me out I need a favor !! I have a puppy I am giving away (FREE!). It's a Dachshund, it's house broken, and it's great with kids. I am giving it away because the dog stares at my wife when she is undressing, and that gives her the 'Heebie Jeebies'. I think she is just weird ! If you're interested, or know someone who is, let me know. Here's a picture of the dog (scroll down below) .

You just have to realize NOTHING is compulsory in this world apart from holiness and your salvation. "Every man shall bear his own burdern- bible." Leaving theological world. Bill gate stopped school, did what he liked and later decided to go back. Nobody condemed him or did it seem bad instead he was celebrated. Man, follow your dream and accomplish your goal. The end justifies the means. Lastly, note that education is NEVER totally indispensable. B.Sc. is just one of the degrees one can get as a scholar-always Remember. My dad had a HND and he is doing really well. Really well among his peers. May God guide you in your quest for excellence. Amen! |

As at now 12-09-08, it's NOT out. When it comes out, it will be on http://eportal.oauife.edu.ng/ - the university's eportal service website. Best of luck! |
Ok, Trace back the steps you took and make sure you registered correctly. Your hosting company MUST attend to you on issues like this so maybe you will have to go back to them also. |djkunect@yahoo.com| |
You must have a very strong backing for that, But that shouldn't bother you at all if you meet their cut-off points, or? |
