Thanks for the information Bro.
18 months is a lot for someone that is seeking to start in 2024 Winter semester.
What if i get the admission and don't get to meet up with the Visa interview appointment, would the admission be voided?

As for research on town, i tend to Google the cities the Universities on Daad.de shows me, as to know if its a town or City, and their population also.

I feel that cities would give better opportunities than towns, i don't know if my feelings are actually valid?

As for research on the school, i don't know the aspect i should concentrate on, since i believe foreign schools are somewhat standard on a general scale.

I didn't graduate with a first class, and i don't know if the wait is worth it for a visa interview, or for me to seek admission in UK or another country altogether.

If you fall into category-B, better to seek alternatives as you also run the German admission. To be safe. You can find opportunities almost anywhere in life, but I meant a city of 200k or 3million will definitely offer more to you than a village town of 50k inhabitants.

Also admissions can be deferred if visa interview dates are an issue. When the time arises, you can tell the school to present you a new/current admission letter.

I admire the way you responded to the guy.

Please I'm done with computer science in Nigeria.
I intend to study in Germany or UK, Germany as first choice. On or before September this year.

But I've just been wandering online, but decided to use nairaland to get information.

Please do you know where i can start? Any info or hint.

I'm into IT.

Hi,

It's best you read through this thread. I know its a lot, but its what I did when I started my journey. I didn't use any agents & got most of my info from here. Honestly, getting admission isn't the issue, it's securing a visa interview appointment at the embassy. If you recently graduated with a first-class (not sure about 2:1), you will have better chances at Category-A. Otherwise, waiting times for Category-B are taking up to 18 months or thereabouts.

Search for your studies at daad.de or 'uni-assist website'. Ensure your program is in English 100% to avoid wahala. Also, make research on the school or town in question. Where you reside here sometimes determines your quality of life as an immigrant. Goodluck.

Thank you for taking out time to respond to my Questions. I really appreciate. I just migrated to Canada two months ago and I'm feeling so much regrets as regards to not getting a job yet and have to pay bills , Issues with housing here and there. High Tuition fees to pay . I'm feeling devastated already within a very short period of time

You're welcome. I've heard about issues regarding Canada. Best to decide if you gonna stick it out there and relate with NIgerians on ground for proper info to navigate life there or you prep a backup exit plan to somewhere you feel is better. But do your research thoroughly. Wish you all the best.

Hi . Please I'll like to inquire about something.

How is life over there in Germany?

Has it been easy getting jobs as an international students ?

So far will you interpret Germany as a friendly country ?

Lastly , How is the housing situation ?

The reason I'm asking these questions is cos I just migrated to Canada two months ago and I'm already questioning my actions for coming here.

I'll appreciate your Response 🙏

Hello,

Life is fine. Cost of living has risen but that's a global problem. Weather on average isn't amazing but Summer and spring is glorious. Bureaucracy would drive you crazy sometimes but we can endure. Hardwork does pay especially if you understand the law of the land. And learning German improves your quality of life ten-folds. Salary here is low compared to the US & the taxes are higher here too. Though cost of living is lower in Germany and the health insurance system is awesome.

Getting jobs as an international student isn't hard. Depends on the type of job. inside a warehouse like Amazon etc. can be done within a short time but office jobs may be harder to get without German language skills. Unless you're in IT, there english can help you land nice office jobs. Internships are available as well. Sometimes, the faculty may pair with institutes and one can take advantage of those.

Germans are not the friendliest people; know this and know peace smiley . Their culture can be cold and direct. They're hard to crack into as friends but once you're in, they're amazing and will defend you to the core. In big cities like Hamburg, Koln, Berlin etc. you will find nearly all nationalities. SO you can make friends with anyone and find your tribe.

Housing can be tough depending on the city. In the bigger cities there is lots of competition for housing so folks may live an hour or more away from the center. some could get lucky and find something within the city in a nice area. depends on luck, networking etc. Also if you have a high budget, getting a house is quicker.

Wish you good luck!

I beg you all please stop indicating any interest to stay in germany for a period more than the partcular study you are going for in the Visa Application, be it for Further Studies or anything. even when the VO tries to convince you to further ur studies, convince her/ him how your intention after ur study is to come back and get a Job or start up something. A friend was denied Visa also because he stated his intention to proceed with his PhD. NO! The Embassy expects you to finish one study, return to ur home country and not applying for further studies and scholarships. Please desist from that Trap

I don't think that's entirely true. I stated that I wanted to get a PhD degree in Germany when I was done with my Msc then come back home to Nigeria and lecture. Every VO has their own discretion I guess.

Bros... Thanks a lot!! This has helped. Please, if I want to send a million, am assuming that access will charge for transfer right? Do you know the estimate of there charges? Am asking so that I will know how much to leave (for access bank charges) and how much to send. Thanks as I await your reply.

Sassy92 can you help?

Just leave spare 60-100 euros in the account to be safe, for charges or you can use your naira account to bear the charges as well.

Thanks boss. I'm still awaiting my AM after my interview on the 28th August and submitted updated block confirmation and university letter of confirmation of language of instruction on the 10th. I was thinking not sending by courier was the reason for the delay.

It's well. I also had my AD on the 28th. Submitted my confirmation via mail last week.

Discount is given to all students but price depends on the departure airport. Flying from Abuja is more expensive than from Lagos.

Got it. Thanks

In case you are not in Lagos and you do not have any that can help you walk into their office, you may as well try the email option;

LAGOSSALES@THY.COM
Their phone number is: 012772230
TOT NGN 176,127

Does this price apply to those flying through Abuja Airport?

Hi guys

After sending the funding confirmation to the embassy mail, do they send any form of confirmation that they've received it?

That's the issue now. The one that fintiba gives is 3 months and embassy is asking of 6 months. Whats the solution?

Get one from Mansard insurance or other reputable insurance companies. Or use TK (German coy) via coracle. You can do the registration online. You get free 6 months travel insurance if you sign up for their health insurance package. Good luck

Good day friends,

After I managed to raise an amount for my SL. It appears like I've been scammed! This is 37th day my sponsor started the SL procedure (as he claims) at the Berlin Ausländerbehörde and up till date, I haven't seen it as he keeps posting me. The supposed sponsor is my uncle's friend. What's your advice Fam?

Best to find a loan ASAP for blocked account. I also got disappointed last minute regarding SL. All the best
