Just look at how myopic your reasoning is with this long essay. Nigeria has been travelling out in troops even before now. In my days as an undergraduate in the early part of 2000s, there were so many friends of mine that sought the desert route, many never made it. I, personally left during Jonathan's period (through legal means of course) as things became unbearable. I have my residency but i am already thinking of returning home in few months to reunite with culture and all the people i have missed.
However, as it reached the turn of GenZs, they suddenly began thinking they are the first set of Japa, that they even had to coin a name for it.

A doctor, Chioma Onwuelingo, disclosed this after expressing shock that some couples have sex only three times a year.

The same woman will still leave another man that bath 3 times daily all because he doesn't have good money - then you will understand that for most women, all that matters is for you to have money. Whatever you do as a man, sha try get money, get it plenty - And when you have it plenty, the day you empower such that she can get anything for herself, that's the day your bad character she ignored all this while will become obvious. So, she didn't know he bath once in 2 days since they were courting and since they got married? Suddenly she realises he doesn't bath grin grin grin Come abroad come see many men and women that only bath once a week tongue tongue tongue

What if he is found guilty with glaring evidence?

Would the NLC still threaten the law?
Nobody is above the law, as long as he is clean, nobody can victimise him, not like he has done anything to warrant arrest unless if there are hidden things he is covering up, aside that, to this level, he needs not be afraid of invitation.

Every church that sprang up in the 80s till date have only one motive, convert worshippers from other denominations whilst tagging them unchristian-like or unchristian-enough through a rigorous de-marketing strategy.
Well, in my church, there are committee members that handles all the donations and offerings - make account, document it, pay the pastor in charge and other workers, send the missionary contribution to the headquarter if there is any surplus, bank the rest in the parish's account. From time to time, they read this out or inform the general church during announcement. The only funds the church does not interfere with is the direct gift by members or outsiders to the pastor. In that case, if he likes, he can give portion of it as the bible says, it is his sole prerogative.

Throwback:
It cannot be escaped.

Protest or no protest, government must always raise funds to run the country.

I will only advise every government to focus on more taxing for the fat cats who cannot even stage a protest in the midst of the luxury they already enjoy. But not too much taxation that prevents their creation of jobs for the ever angry mob.

To run campaign as a populist supported by the youth, is not the same reality with taking hard decisions as a leader for the greater good.
Sadly, these fat cats can use the media to stir up confusion, these wild cats can pay bloggers to misinform the public, they can instigate the masses against the government, using the economic status of the people as a weapon.

Imagine the CBN newly proposed tax on banks, see the sentiment it is already whipping across. On a more reliable note, a new generation bank CEO (name withhold) recently accrued to himself 1 billion naira from the profits made from forex. While he shared couple of tens millions to departmental heads....a sister of mine got about 6Million naira. All they do is take advantage of the system to manipulate the naira to dollars - And they are so smart that they can evade CBN during bank's audit. That's how crafty and unpatriotic banks have become, plus all the other profits they make from unsuspected customers. Also imagine what kind of stupendous profits the bigger established banks are making. Little wonder how a bank CEO can become a billionaire overnight without any industry or factory that produces anything for him.
RomanceRe: Man’s Response To Girlfriend Demanding N250k Monthly Frm N800k Salary Goes Viral by djseanjohn77: 8:49am On Aug 08, 2024
DyshApp:
@freshyonly_: A leaked chat between a Nigerian man and his girlfriend, showcasing the man’s response to her demand for N250k monthly from his N800k salary, has gone viral.

The couple’s private conversation, which surfaced recently on social media has since sparked widespread discussion.

In the leaked chat, the girlfriend, whose previous monthly allowance was N80,000, demanded an increase to N250,000 after discovering that her boyfriend, Kunle, earns N800,000 a month.

Expressing her frustration with the current allowance, she wrote:

I’m very angry. Kunle you get N800k monthly. Out of N800k it’s only N80k that you give me monthly Kunle. Is that fair? I want increment. That N80k does not do anything in my life.

“Try and increase it for me. At least N250k maybe. I am not negotiating. It’s 250k no reduction. I don’t blame you. You disgust me
.”

In response, the boyfriend angrily replied:

“Tell your daddy to give you N250k monthly or any of your brothers. Or wait, they can’t. You are so inconsiderate and your sense of entitlement is crazy. Tell me what you have done in my life. Your overblown sense of entitlement and lack of intelligence is annoying.”

Mr. Atiku Abubakar...during your tenure as the VP of Nigeria, while Obasanjo was the President - I was a University Student in LASU. Unfortunately, our academic year lasted the same years as your tenure. Within that 8 years, we had more than 10 strikes, some lasting over 6 months. That set some of us back 4 years. In one of those usual student protests, you and your president Obasanjo deployed armoured tanks and military / mobile police to our school gate, they not only shot at us, but killed and wounded many. That was just my school, and this was reminiscent of the happening across all citadel of learning at the time. Till date, nobody has been brought to book. You and Obasanjo ordered military to wipe out Odi village, today, not only did you come back to contest for president, nobody in your time was held accountable. I can go on and on. I know most of the kids (GenZs) in this platform will not understand or didn't have the slightest knowledge of what happened between those 2 tenures. That period birth the OPC, Egbesu, Bakassi etc, these people were used as tools to attack civilians, they literally bring people out of their homes and massacre them, till date, none of these people were prosecuted.

With all these, you, Mr. Atiku thinks you have any moral right to speak on justice, or accountability, let's not even delve into economical aspect, where all the assets of Nigeria were sold to cronies and paddies at the expense of Nigeria. Tell me one asset of Nigeria sold during your time that worked afterwards, instead, the machineries were sold off for profits e.g. Nigeria Textile, Railway, Nigeria Airways all were liquidated during your time.

What about Section 7 and Schedule IV? Well, your type can't know.
Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Fourth Schedule. Functions of a Local Government Council is explicitly highlighted. Governors simply wants al power to themselves. Why are there LGs allocation, or should that be scrapped too, then the money solely given to States, then States can choose to do as they wish, either create LCDAs as they wish instead of LGs. Lagos has 27 LCDAs, 20 LGs...the LCDAs are not the headache of Federal Govt, the State can choose to do what they dim fit with it.
US does not run a LGs system. The India that the were mentioned runs an operational LGs system. Then each State creates more as they wish which are not recognised federally but by the State.

Local government in India - Check Wikipedia
India is a federal republic with three spheres of government: union, state and local. The 73rd and 74th constitutional amendments give recognition and protection to local governments and in addition each state has its own local government legislation.

Don't be a dunce to be quick to believe politicians and their lies. He is still a beneficiary of LGs allocation from the State as a former governor. They have shared the proceeds of LGs for life to themselves.

foleskay:
It's the exchange rate that causing all of these. We used to subscribe for dstv premium for 10k in 2014. That' Same premium now is almost 30k
It has nothing to do with exchange rate - I pay 14.99 dollars monthly over here, when i learnt about what Nigerians pay, it sounds ridiculous. I tried switching my bank card to Nigeria card so i can use the Nigeria version, but it didn't accept it.

In the case of DSTV, it is also myopic to think of that. Even at that, supposing dollar rate was $750 when subscription was 10k, 10k would be equal to 13 dollars or let's round it up to $15. Dstv today is 30k, 30k today is 20 dollars - there is factor of additional 5-7 dollars in excess.
DStv does not spend their profits in Nigeria, and so would not be affected by Nigeria's inflation rate. However, the factors necessitating that would be diesel cost (operational cost).
However, i must also inform you that most network mast of major world network providers do not run on national grid, except for offices. MTN/SA uses diesel to power their mast. The current price of diesel fuel in South Africa is ZAR 23.13 per liter or USD 1.28 per liter based on the latest update from 08-Jul-2024. Which was why MTN/SA launched a complete reneewable system to power their stations.

Please give them the protection they need
Every protest starts with such motive - when the ration of police to protesters become 1:10,000 what is the end result?

At the end of the day, the houses and properties of the politicians will not be affected, what will be ruined are the lives of the protesters, properties of good citizens, public properties etc.

You are free to protest, but go to your State, or go to Abuja, go and do as you like. The last protest destroyed properties in Lagos more than all the 36 States and FCT put together, yet Lagos is not the seat of power.

He was given a tax-free on importation and construction, for the better part of Buhari's tenure, he was given CBN dollar rate, which he of cos traded multiple times with his aboki bureau-de-change before eventually importing with the profits, he got free-trade zone lands from Lagos State, entered into agreement to instead construct roads. Rather than construct the roads with the exempted tax fees, he hiked cement price to x2, then x3 while using the proceeds from these excess profits to drive economic hardship.

The same Dangote that got interest free loan from Akingbola of Intercontinental Banks those years (under Jonathan) and still refused to pay back. Federal government had to use Nigeria's money in the tune of $7billion to keep the banks afloat and save depositors money. Him and his billionaire colleagues are walking freely today.

Dangote is one of the Nigeria's problems. he and his billionaire colleagues benefitted largely from the era of dollar subsidy (aided by Emefiele). Forming same oligarchy's style in Russia, widening the gap between the rich and poor. Until a Federal Government emerges that fights these people such that they begin to tighten their exploitative loopholes with which they suck the nation without fear or favour, Nigeria can never be better. Their collective billions are simply at the expense of the masses (unevenly distributed wealth by the billionaire elites).

These external advisers should just leave us alone. Can they allow us to breathe in peace. Already, we have economic saboteurs, the farmers and the business market themselves sabotaging and taking advantage of the process to make excess profits.
They even take the produce to neighbouring countries to create artificial scarcity just to drive the prices up.
