How can a Nigerian survive in a system where you can't pay money to someone to “Run it for you”(whatever the context may be) How can you just exist where they can't “work it” where you can't settle someone to settle another someone.. This is not a moral write up, it's purely idealogical… Why Nigerians are like this is because this is the only system we have ever known. Speak for yourself please - I have lived in systems where i do not have to pay anyone or settle or know someone to know someone before i am able to do anything. Perhaps because while in Nigeria, i never benefitted or rely on government or favor from anyone for anything. My father worked with United Nation, and aside that he raised us in a certain way - For instance, i do not rush to get anything, when i get there and see people jumping queue or acting like barbarians, i step aside or come back when the rowdiness is gone down. I didn't get bursary even as a student, because my father was exempted from Tax....Nigeria didn't do anything for me whatsoever, zero benefit, and it didn't change who i am while living in the same Nigeria...... I do not complain about the things i am unable to have or get - For 33 years of my life, i lived in the system but chose not to allow the system to get to me - I have never offered bribe to anyone before, i ensure i have correct papers for everything, no cutting corners, everything can wait. And when i eventually left 13+years ago, it felt normal to adapt and adjust to the new system. Me aside, i have seen people also easily adapt. Even while in Nigeria, i do not throw liters away anyhow on the street or through the windows of my car. Changing the nation or anything starts with you, it is not about the government or policies but you as an individual. Perhaps you were raised to pay your way through everything, be rowdy and get things done at all costs any which way. perhaps that is what skewed your mindset, but do not generalize it. Not everyone is like you or raised as you. |

malali:This thing is simple - you get a portion of crude from Federal government in naira, which is in turn enough to supply the Nigeria market, why not sell the crude in naira to Nigerians and sell the crude in dollars for your exported products? The stakeholders are dumb themselves, each time they interview him, and he makes these flimsy excuses, they lack the knowledge to ask the appropriate question - or is it that they have been paid to ask foolish questions only. |

Also, most of their wars do not follow UN engagements. They bombard schools, hospitals, civilians, power greed etc. They mostly do not succeed wherever the people are united or patriotic. |

Ofunaofu:The difference is - are we borrowing externally or internally through Federal government bonds? Federal governments have looked inward for borrowing - using Federal parameters rather than external borrowing. That is the difference, and another difference between this government and the past governments in NIgeria history is, the President do not write or make it public any internal borrowing - they just dip their hands and take since it is a fund at their disposal. It's even on record, that, as soon as World bank saw that the President wrote to borrow funds, they offered us 11 billion dollars and IMF offered 50 billion, but the government rejected it. Since then, they both have result to media attacks. |

As if you are not aware that people deliberately pay through back channel to get fake government stamps - which they themselves are very aware the approval is not authentic. They just hope they will get away with it, or government will look other way for couple of years. I have heard people say - Government no ey come easily, at least i go don use the house for 5 - 30 years before they come. Offenders understand who they are patronizing. The developers know what they are doing, theirs is to get the project done, sell it off before government appears. Never, they will first use the advantage of dollar as world's reserve currency to weaken you, steer up regime change (internal fracas), then attack you and then claim victory.... Government saw their insincerity and clamped down on their excesses. Now, they are crying. This is not just limited to farmers; an average Nigerian is like that. bankers will do their own, lecturers will do their own, tomatoes, fish etc seller will do their own. I hate OBJ with passion. There was a time we sat at home for straight 8 months, another one 6 months and several other smaller months. They merged batches for admission later on sef. Nigeria's education system under him was terrible- That's why anytime that witch Oby Ezekwesili talks, i sigh....as education minster she was horrific. She was always disagreeing with ASUU, condemning their demands. The same woman today complains about Nigeria not working when she was a monumental failure. She should point out 1 reform she brought to education system or university. |

StoriesUpdate:This is the conversation i have been having with some people recently, I have maintained that many of these people always attacking government, saying they need new governance, many of them have benefitted from the rot, therefore they are part of the rot they condemn. Graduates are as good as uneducated - many are unproductive, cannot solve basic life problems talk-less of complex job problems. I am and Environmental & Sustainability Manager abroad, I have few Nigerians I have helped guide in the job, however, the way some of them handle simple and basic data calculations is disturbing as a sustainability specialist. Some do not even know Mean, Median, Mode - simplest statistical data analysis, how much more complex. I have taught and continue to teach, explain that i am now fed up. My baby girl is 9, she is smart and will solve this at a GO. When you have to explain same thing for years and you ended up helping them prepare their reports, then it is frustrating. I have come to the conclusion that, these are one of those who paid through education, or all together did even acquire one. All they can do is speak English. Some dumb people will say in abroad, your education is not required or necessary - but what life problems can you solve? You can't even demonstrate critical thinking, yet you talk down on education. You think these are things you acquire with your dumb head? You must have a form of education. Elon Musk and the rest didn't just rise to the top, they are either secretly supported by Mossad, used by the government (government create wealth for selected individuals they use especially for data collection - I can't say more than that). Even at that, these people use the brain of other educated people to achieve their billionaire status. I belonged to the class where your hand has to touch your ears before you are deemed right for primary school. I was the last set in the mid 80s. Then my secondary school then is better than many private secondary schools today (mushroom schools). We had every apparatus and chemicals/agents for sciences - we had standard laboratories, and one of the best teachers. My school back then in the 90s usually top the SSCE distinction list..on 2 occasions we were the overall best school. My secondary school was better equipped than LASU of those years. The school already prepared us for the challenges ahead, ours was the era of A1, A2 & A3 before B was introduced. 1 Like |

PHYTECH:Iran is the only true independent state in this region - Their fate and future is in their hands, their security, their lives and that of their people are in their hands. No one dictates to them and that is why we have this war. They do not want to be vassal to any imperialism. The rest pays America heavily for security and protection, they rely on America to survive and whilst they themselves pursue their own agenda in smaller African Arab countries.
