We need to decongest Lagos. But how do we do that? By creating job opportunities in other towns and cities I believe. Now again, how do we do that? Is our government working towards that? Too many questions begging for answers that's definitely not forthcoming.
#GodblessNigeria

Too many question, few answer, give me lagos to Calabar rail line, and I will be coming to lagos daily from Ore to do my business and go back to sleep jejelly, less noise, less pollution, but my fat filled NASS will not allow that.

Celebrities / Re: President Muhammadu Buhari Arrives China by dklex(m): 6:57pm On Apr 11, 2016
olatade:
If you still want to know why we support General Buhari here is the main reason.

Our friends and families in the North East were living in fear and terror for four years. Their markets and sources of living were destroyed by the insurgency. They couldn't go to their farms or markets, and they couldn't even pray in peace. The government did little to help them.

The security situation under Buhari has remarkably improved. Boko Haram is no longer capturing villages and towns. People are now living in relative peace. People are returning to their towns and villages. The military and our security agencies are doing their best.

Many of us supported him because we knew he would address the problem of insecurity. He did. And we are grateful. We hope the government will support the reconstruction of the communities and infrastructure destroyed by Boko Haram.

The problems many Nigerians are now complaining about, such as fuel scarcity and lack of electricity, are things very common in the North East for many years.

We will continue to support him so that he can fulfill the other promises he made of improving the economy, creating jobs, and fighting corruption.

We will tell him when things are not going well in other sectors. But we have NO REGRETS for supporting Buhari.

In God and PMB I trust to bring back Nigeria lost glory and put us back on the right track. Haters, u are on a long thing.

Politics / Re: Buhari Rejects N’assembly’s Peace Deal On Budget - Punch by dklex(m): 12:36pm On Apr 11, 2016
olatade:
The moment Nigerians slumber and take for granted the character of Bukola Saraki, the nation may be doomed for it. There is no worst Nigerian elite corrupt criminal than Bukola Saraki. First, he hid the budget to say it was missing, later the lost but found budget was roguely padded to favour their criminal interest having realised President Buhari wasn't going to allow them rip Nigerians off through dubious constituency projects anymore and now, having failed in all those, the one and only criminal Saraki has just invented another criminal tactics, what I can describe as "budget lifting". Just like how shoplifting is a crime, that has been rebranded and introduced to our budget system - removing one project and diverting the proposed expenditure to another uncontemplated and unplanned projects. The intention is to connive with some rogues in the ministries to phantom the projects and siphon the money. However that we have the calibre of Buhari as our president as well as now better informed Nigerians, this is not enough unless we take peculiar step to stem the growth of this cancer.

I want to use this opportunity to call on all Nigerians to rise against Bukola Saraki before the devil completely destroys our system. We have no other country than this, so this devil must be exorcised, decapitated and decimated before he sends the nation into irreparable destruction.

At this point, enough of any political diplomacy; Presidency should fight this alien like an act of war or else, should he have the upper hand, we may all be consumed. All of us will just wake up one morning to hear that Saraki and his co-criminals have impeached the President and the Vice-president. This is the time to act. No more "siddon look".

Anybody that will want to shout one nonsense human right abuse or democracy tenet should continue to shout, when the circumstance is beyond ordinary, extraordinary hands are needed.

I totally agree with you, this Saraki of a guy is fast becoming a thorn in our skin, he is playing to much with this year budget. Trying to hold the Fed govt to ransom.

U wish!

Since u seem ignorant, Calabar n PH do have working ports. Infact, Calabar was once Nigeria's state capital.

And since u sound simple minded, rail transport generally is cheaper, more efficient and less prone to accidents compared to road transport. And d rail is to open up d hinterlands, after-all d rail will have stops in most towns it passes thru. Also, should there be high speed passenger rail, u can even work in PH, yet stay in Owerri.

Simple as ABC

God bless u sir.

This is an example of missplaced priority...why build a lagos to calabar rail when even 20% of that money can be used to build a world class port in calabar and port harcourt..who want to travel from lag to calabar on a train....or of what do you hope to bring into calabar from lagos that cannot be brought in through the sea.
The yoruba oligarchy have decided to ensure that the south south never get a port so that people will not leave lagos and the innefectual buffon after 6yrs in power could not even build one port in his home region.
The only way for igbos to leave lagos is to build a port in the south south, complete the onitsha inland port and all industries in lagos will move with it and lagos shall cease to be no mans land and go back to the binis or yorubas and it will join the degeneracy of the rest of the waste..

So is the national rail only going to serve the purpose of goods transportation? What about the rest of the states the rail will run through? Guess u know what u are saying, but u just want to to mislead the public.

God bless Nigeria and those wishing Nigeria well.

Don't blame them, the Israelis did more than this in the wilderness, and the journey of 40 days turn to 40 years for them, no man can please the world, no man. If we can not do anything for the generation yet unborn, let us us just take the pains of reducing this corruption that has reduce us to nothing in the eye of the whole world. Can anyone tell me what Nigeria would have turn to assuming the PDP won the the last election? Is high time we stop complaining, is time to roll up the sleeves of our shirt and put on our thinking cap to help this country, is the only country we can call our own.

Business / Re: What Exactly Will Go Wrong If The CBN Floods The Economy With Dollars? by dklex(m): 7:47pm On Feb 19, 2016
LRNZH:

Even when FG's forex earnings drop, their overhead usually does not. FG has to pay salaries and keep all arms of government functional. This is a reason why governments devalue their local currencies.

Say FG was earning 100B USD and it drops to 50B USD, by devaluing the local currency the 50B USD will have more local value and probably meet the local demands that the 100B USD was satisfying.

The problem is that for an import-based economy, if you devalue so much to satisfy government spending, it reduces how much can be imported. This can lead to a food crisis for example. This, I believe, is part of what PMB's government is seeking to avoid.

Devaluation is more beneficial to export based economies because the price of their commodity becomes cheaper internationally thereby stifling competitors. This is part of the Chinese strategy and it worked for them. They pegged the Remnibi at a lower than appropriate floating rate to fuel exports. That is partly why Chinese goods are relatively cheaper than goods from other countries.

I suspect the PMB government is hoping oil prices will recover sooner than later and reduce the pressure on Naira, since CBN will have more USD to spread around while his government diversifies the economy by increasing power supply, loan accessibility, reducing imports by fixing refineries. Another drain on our Forex is the war in the NE. We keep spending forex to 'buy' weapons to fight the insurgency.

PMB came at the most unfortunate time. But tough times bring out tough leaders.

Respect. I think is high time we all put on our thinking cap, to get Nigeria back on his feet, this is the only country we can call our own

God bless Nigeria.
