Music Business / Re: Why D Hate For Fruity? Professional Answers Plz by DLloyds: 11:00am On Apr 09, 2010 |
Good question? on the other hand if u use strictly FL for your beats, I can tell so can a lot of other folks who's either used it before or who just have darn good ears for full, robust sound which FL lacks. |
Music Business / Re: Producers & Audio Engineers: What Software Makes You Tick? by DLloyds: 10:48am On Apr 09, 2010 |
souljahman: Guy! Don't even try! I breathe FL man! Don't get it wrong, its not a hate for FL, i mean if not for image line, a lot of folks would still be finding it hard to make there own songs. Consequently, it stole a lot of cheese from producers who make beats on some serious gear(so i understand why some people are mad at FL) The good thing bout Fl is that its got an open architecture unlike Reason, but the samples are quite lame especially drums, bass and pianos. The most powerful plugin I think, is the Sytrus, its got some killer synths! Well, to compensate for the weak samples, just rewire Reason or Hypersonic into FL , or get some nice samples online or make yours and free your music from the cliche sound that comes with using FL the way it is. |
Music Business / Re: Mixing And Matering Experts Urgently Needed by DLloyds: 8:16pm On Mar 20, 2010 |
Since you put it that way, let me ask you a few questions. To get international standard music quality, you must follow strict procedures from scratch. 1. What is the quality of your mic 2. What is the quality of your preamp 3. Signal to noise ratio? 4. Quality of your samples, tone generators etc Well, if all your answers meet international standards then you can get what you looking for. Mixng & mastering engineers are not magicians, we can only work wonders with the materials u give us to work with. We'll be willin to work with u on your project. If you willing to give us a try. Ever heard of reelmix studio? Thats our history.

Music Business / Re: Producers & Audio Engineers: What Software Makes You Tick? by DLloyds: 9:59am On Mar 19, 2010 |
ElRazur: In my opinion, there are more beat makers than producers. Beat makers of the lowest cadre are the 100% fruity loopers, above those are dudes who's got a hang of the midi controller. On the other hand, there are some great producers who cant even play an instrument but could tell the instrumentalist what to play. Audio engineers, I mean the real ones really do exist on nairaland. I know some SAE grads, Protools Operators, Live sound engineers here in Lagos and trust me they qualify. How much more of my trumpet should I blow? |
Music Business / Re: Producers & Audio Engineers: What Software Makes You Tick? by DLloyds: 8:06am On Mar 18, 2010 |
Im pretty cool with using Nuendo/ Cubase Sx , the GUI is cool, flexible to use. the only snag in it is how it rewires with Reason which is why Im now stuck on the new Protools 8. PT 7 doesnt really cut it for me in terms of GUI and plugins but PT 8 is a monster and for the fist time Im begining to see why its the most preferred DAW internationally. |

Music/Radio / Re: Amazing Studio Offer For Recording Artistes by DLloyds: 11:47am On Jan 28, 2010 |
@churchboi. Yes we do analogue MTR as well. As regards choir groups, the promo does not cover those, however we could arrange some sort of discount for them during the duration of the promo. |
Music/Radio / Re: Amazing Studio Offer For Recording Artistes by DLloyds: 9:01am On Jan 16, 2010 |
The deal is simple. What we are doing is that the artistes will pay 15k-our standard studio session fee + 1k admin charges and that is it! The producer and engineers will be providing all other services for FREE! Also, because of increasing demand on our studio time now because of the promo, its an artiste per song basis. Thanks shouts out to Phat Wall, Reelmix and TIC studios |
Music/Radio / Re: Digital Studio by DLloyds: 9:52am On Jan 15, 2010 |
Basically you need to add a fairly good mic, headphones and or monitors(speakers), some softwares like cubase, reason etc and you good to go! Hope that helps |
Music/Radio / Re: Amazing Studio Offer For Recording Artistes by DLloyds: 11:50am On Jan 12, 2010 |
Well, first all Classick, that for sure is the console I we have in our studio. Its a Digidesign C/24. I mean it aint goin to cost you nothing to verify that! Secondly, I would be lying to say I didnt know bout Phat wall vs Dlloyds. Truth is the Dlloyds moniker is an open end one (all our engineers (5) and producer is got access to it) One of em started the beef-end of story! Finally, the 16 gees a track is only going to last for a month and we back on 55gees(Entry level) a track. |

Music/Radio / Re: Phat Wall Muzik Studios.top Quality Production @ The Most Affordable Rates. by DLloyds: 2:27pm On Nov 03, 2009 |
I don't mean to sound mean but Ive come across this name(phat wall) quite a number of times on naira land. My take is you guyz aint good for the music business, what kinda music you want to make for 18gees without compromising quality, when Id cabasa and the so called top producers get 100-150gees per track. just because u wanna EAT you selling stuff to guyz for 16 gees! Get a life bro and step up your game. I bet its just some fake ass, some piece of shit gadget u put together that you call a studio. I run a standard studio and i know how much it cost to put it together not to mention how much i put into tuition to study sound engineering. Stop calling ur crib or kiosk a studio. Its because of guyz like you that crappy sounding productions is flooding and corrupting the naija industry. |

Welcome to Darren Lloyds Studios where all your sound engineering problems end! Cost is relative because the it depends on the magnitude of what you are doing. Im a sound engineer and I wouldn't charge you the same thing for a 24 tracks, 5min song as I would for a 56 tracks, 10 min song (usually hiphop and fuji respectively) But overview is Studio Sessions are 12G TO 20G/Session (Depending on which of our studios) Mix or Mastering - 10 - 20G (excluding session fees) for more info: 0803 0473796 |
