Ok please post these problems on my blog. Will reply there i promise. Visit http://gtbensmag.com |
Donbona8:Ok. I Will respond to this problem the best way i can but i believe your problem is adding the right repository for Kali Linux Headers. Apt by default is an Ubuntu Command line installer like 'Yum' in Fedora/RedHat/CentOS. Kali is for security & penetration testing. Apt needs to be directed to the right software base to update or install the apps needed. Also, i think you should try running KVM incase VMware keeps giving you issues. KVM is an open source Virtualization Suite from RedHat. Its free & powerful too. Please, kindly post this question to our blog http://gtbensmag.com go to forums and post. Its for Linux lovers in 9ja & Africa plus it will help others who have such problems. There are folks from Fedora & Ubuntu community who are ready to solve problems on the site. |
My Brother Linux Mint is wonderful. Love it a lot. UEFI boot is just bullshit. Anyway, you have to disable it from Bios first or boot option. Am happy to see Linux lovers on this channel. Feel free guys to ask questions on Linux on http://gtbensmag.com click on forum to post questions or share your knowledge on Linux. Its open for everyone. Thanks guys. Free your PC with Linux |
It should be, but could have issues with proprietary drivers. You can hit the community for more options bro. Development is on-going |
CENTOS is a free alternative to Red Hat. Fedora is short support as you have to upgrade every 6months. Techies love CENTOS cos its just a free RedHat in the Enterprise. I prefer Fedora to it though as it comes with newer packages & cutout technologies plus a bigger community. Ubuntu is lovely, but Fedora is for the core System admins. They do samething my brother. Linux is Linux but RedHat has more development going on. OpenShift Cloud, JBoss (java suite used by betting companies like Nairabet, 1960bet etc, KVM - Virtualization) |
Who wants to commit to the kind of ladies we have in the society today? 90 percent of them won't add value to your life. Deduct from your account & think fucking u is a huge favor when they give it to a higher bidder anyway. How many babes will visit their bf house & cook with their money, do his laundry or fall in love with a broke guy with prospects? Shey after we hammer them think say we go easily forget? Many are called but few are chosen. Most of these ladies have slept with married men, random dating & seek refuge where they did not invest. Yes men disappoint but your best bet on getting a husband is building a relationship & being submissive. Invest your time & make a few sacrifice if the guy is nice. I no say make u sponsor am ooo. |
True. Very true. Unity offers the best Desktop experience but GNOME is tight too. Especially after tweeking. Am a Fedora/RedHat person. Fedora is raw & rugged either as server or Desktop |
Currently carrying out a survey from a Nigerian perspective as to which Linux Desktop users love the most. For those not familiar with Linux, there is GNOME, GNOME-Classic (Fall-back mode), MATE, Unity (Ubuntu), KDE, XFCE, Cinnamon and more. Kindly visit http://gtbensmag.com to vote. Note you cant vote twice as our webserver will detect your IP address. |
Hmmmm! This analysis harsh oh! But very correct for most of it. |
Eleyi gidi gan! This one hard oooo! Done it & on both occasions gained nothing. Can't anymore but sex isn't the major reason for going into a relationship. Strange but true; it gives guys some leverage when the deed is done. Na the only thing most of our babes fit offer sef |
Dem want a knight in shiny armor instead of a regular guy with prospects. How many of these our ladies will add value to a guyz life rather they'd help deplete your account. Husbands dey, na women (you're not my type or level) attitude hold them for work. I pray for such ladies to realize their mistakes early enough & change. Even bride price payment na another issue. Who wants a lifetime of regrets? Men have their issues too but every sensible guy wants a understanding woman for a wife. Hussler, Academician or military man, we want same thing. |
The gay guy is an asshole. Is this worth mentioning to the public? Na wa oo. See how Gay shit is crippling into our system. |
The sad thing is, if you concentrate on getting traffic from other African countries you will gain more success. Nigerians just have this i dont care attitude especially when the owners of the blogs are their friends. Deal with them formally else its considered doing you a favor rather than gaining knowledge. Am getting traffice from the U.S, Britain and Russia, for a tech blog meant for Africans. Quite funny. |
I am really excited about writing this article. Ubuntu Touch has come a long way in the last few months and I was thrilled to be able to finally try it out on a Nexus 5. What follows is a brief overview of the process as well as some screenshots. But first, a warning. Warning! Flashing system images to your device is a risky operation and may void your warranty. 2buntu is not responsible for any damage caused to your phone by following these instructions. Now with that out of the way, on with the show! Requirements This article makes the following assumptions: You have a Nexus 5 running Android 4.4. You don't care if your phone gets completely erased. You are running Ubuntu 14.04 on your computer. Although it is completely possible to flash Ubuntu Touch to other phones with other Ubuntu releases, this article will focus on using Trusty to flash to the Nexus 5. Let's Begin The first step is to install the following packages: sudo apt-get install ubuntu-device-flash phablet-tools If you haven't enabled USB debugging on your phone yet, you will need to do so by carefully following the steps below: Open Settings and tap "About phone" (it's at the bottom): Android - About Phone Scroll to the bottom and tap "Build Number" seven times until "You are now a developer!" is displayed: Android - Now a Developer Press back and you will notice that there is a new entry named "Developer options". Tap this to open a new set of options: Android - Developer Options Inside, you will find a checkbox that enables USB debugging: Android - USB Debugging You may be asked to confirm that you wish to enable USB debugging. If so, accept the dialog that appears by tapping "OK". Now whenever you connect your phone to your computer, you will be asked to confirm the connection to the computer. You will need to accept this connection to continue. Starting the Bootloader Some of the steps that follow require that you reboot your phone to the bootloader. There are two ways to do this and both are described below: Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable, open a terminal, and run the following command: adb reboot bootloader Power off your phone. Now hold down both the power and volume down buttons until the green Android image appears. Unlock the Bootloader Before we can flash anything to the phone, we must unlock the bootloader. Start the bootloader (see above) and connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable. Run the following command in a terminal: fastboot oem unlock (If this fails for some reason, try prefixing the command with sudo.) You will receive a warning on your phone's screen. After accepting it, the data partition on your phone will be erased. Flashing the Images Now you are actually ready to install Ubuntu Touch. Start the bootloader again and run the following command in a terminal while your phone is connected to your computer via USB: ubuntu-device-flash --channel="ubuntu-touch/devel" --bootstrap --server="http://system-image.tasemnice.eu" This may take a considerable amount of time depending on the speed of your Internet connection. Once the ubuntu-device-flash tool finishes downloading the correct images for your device, it will then flash them. Wait until the command exits - it may take some time to complete. The Fun Part Once the flashing is complete, your phone will reboot and Ubuntu Touch will start for the first time. It may take a minute or two for the boot process to complete. You will then be greeted with the lockscreen: Ubuntu Touch Lock Screen You will also be greeted with a brief tutorial explaining the different swipe gestures for getting around. Taking Screenshots Getting a screenshot is difficult but not impossible. The phablet-tools package contains a command named phablet-screenshot that obtains a screenshot from the device when it is connected to the computer. Unfortunately, it didn't work out of the box. I had to edit a couple of lines. If you want a diff, use this: --- /usr/bin/phablet-screenshot 2014-04-16 04:21:45.000000000 -0700 +++ /usr/bin/phablet-screenshot 2014-07-01 18:56:56.987368596 -0700 @@ -105,8 +105,8 @@ CONVERTOPTS="$CONVERTOPTS -depth $depth -size $size" echo "I: Dumping $FBDEV ..." - adb shell mirscreencast -m /tmp/mir_socket -n1 - adb $ADBOPTS pull /tmp/mir_screencast_$1.$sfx ${PICDIR}/fb + adb shell mirscreencast -m /var/run/mir_socket -n 1 + adb $ADBOPTS pull /tmp/mir_screencast_${1}_60Hz.$sfx ${PICDIR}/fb [ ! -e "${PICDIR}/fb" ] && echo "E: Capture failed!" && return convert $CONVERTOPTS $sfx:${PICDIR}/fb[0] "$DST" If you're not sure what a diff is (never mind how to use one), follow these instructions: Open a terminal and launch your favorite text editor as root. Open /usr/bin/phablet-screenshot and locate line 108. Change lines 108 and 109 to the following: adb shell mirscreencast -m /var/run/mir_socket -n 1 adb $ADBOPTS pull /tmp/mir_screencast_${1}_60Hz.$sfx Reinstalling Android If you change your mind and want to revert to Android (which, thankfully, is very easy to do with a Nexus device), you can do so by following these steps: Download and extract this file. Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable and run the following command: adb reboot bootloader cd to the directory containing the files you extracted in step 1. Run the flash-all.sh script: ./flash-all.sh That's it! When the process completes, you'll be back in Android. Is It Stable? Unfortunately, Ubuntu Touch is not very stable on the Nexus 5 - the Mir display server frequently crashed or froze on me, requiring a hard reset. I do not recommend using Ubuntu Touch on a Nexus 5 that you use on a daily basis. All of that being said, the OS looks very promising and has come a long way. As a bonus, I will include another screenshot showing our very own 2buntu app for Ubuntu Touch running on an actual device: 2buntu Ubuntu Touch App on Nexus 5 Looks like we have a font-size issue to fix. *Smile* http://gtbensmag.com

A lot of new devices and smart phones keeps hitting the market every now and then but the major players from a hardware point of view seems to be Samsung, Apple, Microsoft, LG, HTC, Tecno and the rest. From an Operating system point of view its basically Android, iOS and Microsoft (Android or or Fork). Without further ado, here is the result for our survey for estimated sales and who tops the list for the first quarter of 2015. 1. Android Obvious leader with so many Hardware vendors shipping this great yet OpenSource OS on their platform. From the Nexus, to Samsung to Tecno (especially here in Nigeria), HTC; androids have been sold to a tune of over 243million devices put together for 1st quarter of 2015. 2. iOS The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have helped Apple sell an astounding 74.5 million iPhones during the first quarter of the company’s fiscal 2015 year. That’s more iPhones than they’ve ever sold during a single quarter, up from the previous record of 51 million iPhone sales reported during the same time last year, and above the consensus estimate of around 67 million per Wall Street analysts. That’s a 41 percent increase year-over-year for iPhone sales. Apple also moved 21.4 million iPads during the quarter, down compared to last year’s 26 million units shipped. The record-breaking number isn’t just significant in that it earns Apple bragging rights – it’s a very loud, very clear answer to critics that claim Apple is looking at winnowing growth opportunity for its smartphone division. It’s also an indicator that Apple made the right call in addressing display size with its last update, since the larger iPhone 6 and 6 Plus seem to have been responsible for a lot of the iPhone’s overall growth and record-breaking quarter. Part of the iPhone’s tremendous success has to do with its ability to sell more devices in key growth markets, including Greater China. Analyst firm Canalys reported earlier today that Apple has shipped more smartphones in China than any other smartphone maker for the first time ever, and its surge ahead of both Samsung and recent top dog and Samsung usurper Xiaomi must translate to a huge increase in regional device sales. It’s hard to understate what an accomplishment it is for Apple to have led that market, and how key its strong position there is for future growth potential. 3. Microsoft Microsoft announced that during its last quarter that ended on March 31 (its 2015 third fiscal quarter), it had sold 8.6 million units of its Lumia smartphones. which was an increase of 18% compared to the same period a year earlier. Overall, revenues from phones came in at $1.4 billion for the quarter, which was down 16% compared to a year ago. Microsoft also sold 24.7 million non-Lumia phones during the quarter, which was also down compared to a year ago. Microsoft said the "market for feature phones continues to contract". Hopefully, Microsoft will offer more info on its phone business during its conference call with financial analysts later today. Although Microsoft sold 8.6 million units of Lumia smartphones, that is down from last quarter where it sold 10.5 million. Visit http://gtbensmag.com to know more

How can a Governor Owe Primary school teachers for 13 Months and even have the balls to say it publicly like paying them is a favor and not a service. I prefer Rochas to Ihedioha or any PDP led Government but this is an outrage. These pot bellied law makers and Professors will not speak up now cos their kids and families are not involved directly. Democracy is not a stunt show, Rochas fix Eziobodo-FUTO road (The real FUTO Host Community), Complete your round-abouts and Fly-overs, empower the masses by bringing in Breweries, Steel Plants, Railway lines to the North & South (Imo has no access point besides a local cargo airport), Automobile industries & Agric Research Centers Partnership for the masses & farmers. |
Jimmy Kimmel, veteran black Hollywood actor and comedian together with some team of re-knowned software developers came up with a nice looking Application to curb racism in the United States and hopefully around the Globe. This was done to help curb racism in the US. Visit http://gtbensmag.com to watch the free video or download the app.

He's saying this because he's well to do. Make him go bankrupt & hungry again his tone will change. Typical problems of rich Nigerians. Am not from 9ja delta but pay them & compensate its their right. Cut down the salaries of the legislators who do nothing but enact useless laws (anti-gay was the only good one they passed into law since 1999). Cut down Ex governonrs gratuity, Ex presidents, refine all petroleum products locally, restore Ajaokuta stell plant & see Nigeria grow to greater heights. |
