The fact can not be denied that Europe is the center of football for now. So if we are looking for a model, it cant be Latin America but europe.Abouki was not given the award on the basis that he didnt play in europe but that he need improvement and change of environ because africa has standard. it will surprise us when caf will give d award to non african playing in african soil.

This is not the matter of who speaks english more than the other but a case of having facts on ground.The issue concerning the succeess or failure of Togo national team has little or nothing to do with the awrad given to Adebayor. Liberia has only appeared 2wice in Nations cup and has never passed group stage but George Weah has won African best 3 times. Liberia has never smelled the road to world cup in the history of football, yet Weah has won world best in 1995. My point is that Europe is the center of football in the world for now. All the world best players are all coming out from European Leagues. I know one day africa will break the record but let that local champion calling himself Aboutrika stop eating his mother's food every day before and after going to football pitch. Let him go out and face challenges like other players, succeed in those clubs and possibly make it at home, then he will be considered.

u are rigth. But if check list very well you discover it not common at all. Lets be reasonable, how can somebody born, bread and buttered in Egypt, started his football carrer in Egypt, Playing league in Egypt, infact all in Egypt, HABA, its too much guy. Even if not Adebayor, it shouldnt b Aboutrika at all. Let him miss up with other players outside to see the difference. 99% of players in his league are Egytptians. I understand, the guy plays well but need to miss up with bigger buys out there.

African case can never be an exception. Africa follows world standard set by FIFA. In the history of football, no home base player has won world best footballer of the year. Home based can be compensated by giving them second or third but not the best. If Aboutrika had been playing in Ghana or any other country in Africa, He would have won straight away based on his performance.
