NLNG has Shell, Total, AGIP and NNPC as its shareholders. This alone should answer your question.

I think one company that might come close here to NLNG is Total. I stand to be corrected though

Judging by what I saw on this recent offer, NLNG pays well but not as much as IOCs. Total Upstream pay is handsome but Total Downstream pay is terrible.

Hello guys. I would like to know your mpg especially for people that drive around Lagos regularly for work. My mpg is at 13 which is by every standard low. It could be because of the start and stop due to Lagos traffic. Let me know what you think.

Pls what could be the cause?

Check your spare tire and make sure it’s fastened well. That could be the problem. It has happened to me couple of times. The tightening screw unscrews sometimes with time.

Hello there. Sorry nobody got to answer your question on this. I hope you’ve already taken the shahada. So the answer is no. It’s not compulsory to take shahada before witnesses. However it won’t be a bad idea as it’ll help people around you know of your status and address you as such. It’ll also help them in assisting you with the knowledge to practice Islam the right way. May Allah SWT see you and us through. Amin

I no wan tag anybody here but why do some Nigerians feel that you have to go through the long process before you get something you can get in an easy way. It doesn’t make sense. Life is about making things easy. If you found something the hard way, your aim should be to make it easy for people coming after you to seek for that same thing. The fact that people want things easier doesn’t make them lazy and not hardworking.
This same mentality is why some people in high places don’t help other people because they feel like they went through tooth and nail to get where they are and so you should do the same.
It’s very wrong. E no make sense.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Can A Muslim Skip Fasting If He Has Nothing To Eat Before And After The Fast? by Dmamasboy(m): 8:04am On Apr 02, 2022
Alamkir:

Oga send something for the guy even if its 1k that's the best ibada, The reward is enormous not all this poverty preaching asking the Hungary guy to be looking for places to beg for food. Haba now lets learn to put our self in other pple shoes

You are wrong. This is not hungry preaching. The fact that you think that then you need to work on yourself and your Iman. We all do sha.
Money is important but the right religious attitude is more important. If he understands the importance of Ramadan he wouldn’t say what he said. I’m merely enlightening him.
Nowhere did I say he should beg. Read and read through again. A good Muslim wouldn’t resort to begging as the Prophet Muhammad SAW said it’s better for a man to go into the forest and chop down wood, carry it and take it to the market and sell than to beg. Hence my story of the sahaba that will visit and will be invited to eat without him begging. But if he does beg we are told to give and if we don’t have, then we say it with kind and soothing words. If he goes to the masjid as some of us have suggested, he won’t be begging. He will be invited to take it. Or some will tell you to queue.
This is me putting myself in his shoes. It doesn’t fit but this is the best solution without any assistance.
But you are right on only one thing. He does need our assistance.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Can A Muslim Skip Fasting If He Has Nothing To Eat Before And After The Fast? by Dmamasboy(m): 2:49pm On Apr 01, 2022
Khalifaibb:
So many Muslims like me tomorrow are going to have nothing to eat before and after fasting tomorrow, is there a possibility of leaving it or what can one do In such situations?

Am already starving and our only hope comes from Allah brothers and sisters what can you suggest for us the less privileged?

Are we allowed to leave the fasting?

No you are not allowed to. It’s sad that you don’t have the food or the means. May Allah SWT provide it for you. But Ramadan is also a month of giving. A lot of people take food to the masjid when it’s time to break the fast. If you are not prideful or arrogant, having a food at that time is as simple as going to the masjid and collecting it. If the masjid around you doesn’t do that, look for another one. Preferably the one close to rich Muslims area.
A poor sahaba used to go to his fellow sahaba’s homes to learn from them exactly around the time he knows they’ll be about to eat, then they’ll ask him to join them. He doesn’t beg but he gets free food. (This is to make you feel better about your situation)

Also Allah might choose to open your ways for your devotion to his commandments. Mind you fasting the month of Ramadan is the only Ibadah for Allah. The rest is for you and your hereafter. Try my brother. May Allah see you through.

Also someone that doesn’t have food is not part of those exempted from fasting. In a perfect Muslim society, you wouldn’t go into Ramadan without anything as your neighbor is obligated to help you

ZALA64:
Good evening dear Nairalanders, I have a story to share with you and I will appreciate your candid advice

I have a junior sister of about 21 years of age, finished secondary school in 2019, tried gaining admission but didn't get eventually, also did A level but at the end, there was nothing to show for, this isn't cause she is a dullard but something Sha must end up something, she applied for another A level at Unilag, and was pushing through not until the news of her pregnancy came in, she was two months gone when I got to know, I really tried to persuade her to abort because I was concerned about her Education and our parent feeling but she insisted and I allowed her take her decision, we informed my dad and mum then the big issue starts, right now my dad does not want to have anything to do with her, she is currently living at my dad's junior brother house

The most annoying part to my dad was that she got pregnant to a Christian which my dad would not approve of, even when they tried to talk to him multiple, right now, he does not care if she exist or not, all he knows is she can't live under his roof anymore

I am the elder sister and my consign goes beyond the religion issue, the boys mother is some sort of hell, didn't like my sister and she looks really fetish, the whole family looked cursed to me, the guy is the only one that managed to finish ND and he is currently learning Mechanic after his ND Program, I have tried to persuade my sister to not have the intention of getting married to the guy now, because first she's young, second how would she feed and third that family is a no no, the red flags are just too glaring, Her strong head is just too much which is why I'm putting it out, if she's reading comments from another person maybe she'd pick something, I have invited her as a guest to Nairaland and she would be seeing all your advices. Kindly help us.

Thank you.

There is so many wrongs and not just on her part too. The fact that your concern goes beyond the religious aspect it’s a big wrong. The fact that you want her to abort the pregnancy is a huge wrong. I would assume that you are Muslim since you brought up the religion part, this will mean you and your sister are terrible Muslims. A Muslim woman would know not to associate with a Christian man (only our men can marry Christian women). That part alone is a sin as she has gone against Allah SWT’s command. Fornication is also a sin. But so is abortion (same as murder) and so is making religion take a back step as a Muslim.
Too many wrongs cannot make a right. The deed has already been done. Your sister needs to keep the pregnancy. You and your sister need to educate yourselves more on Islam. Your sister needs to end her relationship with the man and she needs to repent. Your father’s reaction is understandable but with time he’ll come around so long as he sees your sister is repentant in her actions and her words.
Religion (both Islam and Christianity) is very important because it has a blueprint of how we should live our lives even in this century. Being a Muslim or a Christian by name is not enough, knowing your religion deeply is.

Romance / Re: My Boyfriend Just Moved Into My Apartment by Dmamasboy(m): 9:27pm On Dec 28, 2021
NovesaTillie:
Good morning and merry Christmas everyone.

Please I'm in dilemma and really need some good advice.
This guy and I have been on this relationship thing for 5 months now with occasional misunderstandings here and there. The first one was because he visited me and refused to go after the time he said he would leave, when he finally left I got back home from work only for the security to call me that I have a visitor at the main gate and behold it was him.
I allowed him stay the night because he's a nice guy, really good in bed and also helps in the house to do stuff like wash the dishes and cooking.

Fast forward to December 15th we agreed he comes over and we spend the Christmas at my place then go to his place from 27th so we can enjoy the new year there. As we agreed, he came to my place on 17th of December and has not made any moves to leave or for us to go to his place. I am moved to create this thread because I got home from work yesterday and noticed more of his things have been arranged in the wardrobe with his shoes arranged by the front door..

Please how do I address this? I can't go on like this. He eats a lot. Snores also.
Is relationship not supposed to be the other way around why is he moving into my apartment like I'm going to marry him
We both stay in Abuja.

Mods please kindly move to Frontpage.
He stayed over, you complained. He left, you complained, now he’s back and you are complaining. You better decide whether you want this relationship or not.

Well done boss. I have an issue with my speedometer. It used to work on and off before and then it stopped completely. When it’s working, the gear shit is smooth but when it’s not working, the gear doesn’t go beyond gear 3. It was diagnosed and the diagnostics said it’s the front left speed sensor. I changed that and it worked for a minute or so and then it stopped working giving us error c1201 and c1406. Also the abs, brake, check engine and vsc and traction light is on constantly. When the speedometer works(before before), only the brake light disappears. The rest are still on. Do you have an idea what the issue is?
My car’s model is Corolla 2010

Congrats to all new GTs.

Prepare your mind for the following:

(1)The coronavirus will most likely affect resumption date. State govts across the nation are banning large gatherings and minimising physical contacts as much as possible. It is clear your orientation will be postponed.

(2) The problem is further compounded by the extremely low oil prices which have not even bottomed out yet. Nigeria is currently producing at a loss with the current prices, and we are not even able to sell our crude. No oil firm recruits during periods of low oil prices. NNPC boss has emphasized the need to cost cuts to.produce at current prices. Most companies fire or place employees on furlough. So the orientation will be moved to much later date when or if things stabilise.

(3) You are yet to receive official appointment letter. You have only received a notification of success. By law, no company is not legally bound to recruit any candidate that has not yet received an offer letter. Even with official letters, there has been several cases where govts or insitiutions withdraw offer letters even after resumption with no consequences. So the current case is even more precarious.

I therefore foresee a situation where the new GTs are put on reservation list for several months or years. A worse case scenario is that the recruitment eventually be cancelled or extremely streamlined. Forget sentiments, this is a real scenario right here.

I therefore ask all new GTs to hope and pray this crisis pass as soon as possible. The longer it stays, the less chances you will be recruited.

This shows what you know about the whole process. You don’t even know that GTs have already been given official letter or apl. Also GTs are no longer part of the recruitment because they’ve already been recruited hence the federal government notice on recruitments doesn’t affect them. Only your first point is valid.
