barackodam: So, I was at a shop yesterday, and the guys were arguing, why City would not win the EPL. I asked why, he said, "seems you don't know this is epl? Anything can happen. Wait till next year when they start having injury crisis"
Then I asked him, "This City team with a 14 point lead?" he gladly said yes, claiming its epl. I just kept muted biko...
I cannot coman be arguing with delusional people Pep is breaking every meaningful record in EPL and yet some people have decided to live in denial still. Okay na... |

Debroslink: Man city can destroy the EPL as expected. But when it comes to Europe, the TRINITY are still there. I don't see Man city beating any of them in 2 legged tie. Mehn leave oooo. Although it remains to be seen, but the confidence oozing from those guys is second to none. The only thing that would separate them from the big boiz is when they show the so-called big boiz too much respect. Unless that is the case, they would hold their own against anyone presently. |

sebod: I am happy for Pep for proving the epl guys wrong. He's not only dominating but also doing it with the style they said was never possible. The narrative has changed though. What we keep hearing now is how he has to spend to play beautifully and I keep asking, does that means other managers are spending papers? Why nobody ever told us the kind of dominance and style could be possible in Epl provided a manager is able to assemble the right legs? Why the sudden change of narrative? Well; that's epl fan boys for you.
As regards PSG and RM, I doubt if a true Cule would prefer RM qualifying over PSG. I want to believe all what we read here are just jokes. What's my biz in having many Spanish teams in UCL to be favouring Madrid to qualify? Any team with a chance of knocking out Madrid has my full support.
As regards Neymar, he only becomes an enemy the day he joins Madrid. He's always my boy irrespective of the heartbreak he caused me when he left. If Ney go Madrid, , na divorce straight! |

sebod: Look at those we have back here! Dmcdad? Philapheron? Darkrebel? That's the magic of Classico!
By the way, Messi still owns me an explanation as to why he had to punish Marrcelo that wickedly before setting up Vidal for the third goal in front of Ronaldo. Pure magic! Mehn... The match was a joy to watch. They had their chances and could have killed the game in the first period, but thank goodness they were sloppy. We had ours in the second period and made them pay for their sloppiness. Meanwhile, to digress a bit... Man City will be celebrating Christmas with 13 points. Wow. I thought this day would never come in EPL, but lo and behold, the same overrated Pep is doing wonders with a City side not too great in my opinion. Yes, they are good and they have some world class players, but come on, they are nowhere near Barça's invincibles, and yet they're doing the Lord's work in the supposed Almighty EPL. Na wa ooooo. Wonders will indeed never end. Imagine this useless Madrid side and some people will wish PSG is eliminated from the UCL because of their hatred for Neymar. I don't like Chelsea, ever! But compared to Madrid? I love them with the full strength of my heart. |

jonsnow92: It backfired big time..In the second half Kovacic was tasked with following Messi around..If you watch our first goal,Instead of Kovacic to close down Rakitic,He kept running towards Messi and thus Clear road for Rakitic..It was sweet to watch!. Exactly! That shows how myopic Kovacic is... Football comes first before any other thing. Yeah, given, you were tasked with man-marking Messi. But then, does that mean if Messi leaves the pitch you'd go with him abandoning your teammates? He wasn't wise at all... |

One of Messi's passes to him was so close to goal that it was much easier to put the ball in the net than shoot over the bar.
But Andre Gomez shot it over the bar!

tesppidd: WITH RONALDO
1. World cup 2010 ronaldo features in all games and portugal gets knocked out in round one. 2. Euro 2012 ronaldo plays against spain and portugal gets knocked out. 3. World cup 2014 ronaldo features in all and gets knocked out in round one. 4. Confederations cup 2017 ronaldo features against chile and portugal gets knocked out.
WITHOUT RONALDO
1. Euro 2016 ronaldo does not feature in the final and portugal win. 2. Confederations cup 2017 ronaldo does not feature in the 3rd place against mexico and portugal win.
Infact ronaldo is the one holding the portugal side back. They lose when he features.
Portugal have never had no bums in their national team. All of these players played with ronaldo when in their primes; Nani, Quaresma, Bruno Alvez, Pepe, Moutinho, Contreao.
Not the kinds of players to leave portugal struggling with north Korea and ghana in the world cups if you ask me.
Everything we comment on is in relative terms. Ronaldo relative to Messi. And so like you said while Messi was padding up stats in the group stage Ronaldo was padding a single goal against Ghana in one world cup and a sinlge goal against North korea in another.
That's why i mentioned grey areas. smart people always pay attention to details and see millions of grey areas, not so smart people do not care about details and see black and white, yes or no, win or lose. that's not me that's philosophy. Not winning the trophy doesn't amount to failure.
On an individual level playing in a world cup final and winning the golden ball is far far far greater than winning the euros while not playing in the final. On an individual level i say! It's logic, except for mischief makers.
It's not about deafening your eyes and blinding your eyes to the substance or the details.
There was nothing magical about ronaldo in euro 2016. You guys just need to slow your roll about that. Even after euro 2016 and a 5th ballon dor I still listened to several sport luminaries including Ray Hudson, Graham Souness and Gary Linekar who all still say it's not a debate, Messi for them all day all night.
It's not a crime to support ronaldo and claim he is the better player but trust me as far as the entire world goes, you are in the minority.
All these talk about Messi losing in 3 finals wouldn't change any of that. I need buy you beer, or any drink of your choosing. |

tesppidd: Setting the facts right.
Portugal got to the semi finals of the 2006 world cup with veterans like figo, rui costa, nuno gomez and deco. That was the golden generation of portugal. Then they retired!
Since then portugal with cristiano ronaldo have flopped in every world cup with second round and first round exits.
Then uefa introduced the best losers' policy at the 2016 euros!
Portugal flopped in the group stages and managed to escape as best losers in a group with iceland, hungary etc.
For the first time ever a team got to the euros final without playing any of the european heavy weights like germany, spain, italy, england, and france.
Portugal eventually played a top nation france in the final and won the tournament without CRISTIANO RONALDO.
That is summary of the national team conquest of cristiano ronaldo; which you want to prove to us is better than playing in the world cup final and winning the golden ball. Better than winning the olympic gold!
There are a million grey areas. Stop flaunting euro 2016 around as if it's better than everything messi has done with his national team. It is not! Well said bruv... |
