People demand mortuary officials to release the corpse of alleged Lassa victim, stage protest – There was a protest staged in front of the University College Hospital mortuary, Ibadan, today, January 28. – The protesters were dissatidfied with the mortuary officials delaying the release of the corpse of Olawale Gbolagade Akinsaya. – Mr Akinsaya allegedly died of Lassa fever. The onlookers gathered in front of the University College Hospital mortuary located in the city of Ibadan, Oyo state, when the people, who, judging by their clothes, were perceived as sportsmen blocked the road, whistling and brandishing flags and red cards, around 11 am today. In the words of the protesters, they were showing discontent with the delay of the release of the corpse of a certain Olawale Gbolagade Akinsaya, who suddenly died on Thursday, January 21, 2016. Though the funeral was arranged for 10 am, the attempts to reach the hospital officials for the explanation of the delay proved abortive. Reportedly, one of the eyewitnesses claimed it was suspected that Mr Akinsaya had died of Lassa fever, so the doctors decided to carry out an autopsy which allegedly caused the delay. However, one of the protesters, Olalekan Ismail, a graduate from Ladoke Akintola Universiy of Technology and a member of the Nigeria Referees Association, claimed the mortuary officials were trying to make a fool of them as they had observed all the precautions required while transporting a corpse- carrier of Lassa fever. He said: “We were called yesterday to make certain arrangements, including the provisions for an ambulance with special protection precautions, according to the World Health Organization guidelines on Lassa fever, which we did. Now they are saying they cannot fumigate the ambulance as this may destroy it, while the family has been on ground very early.” The late Olawale Gbolagade Akinsaya was described as an active and dedicated leader, who was loved by all and everyone. There have been ever-rising concerns over the Lassa fever outbreak in some Nigerian states in the begining of January, later spreading all over the country. On January 15 the Federal Ministry of Health announced it would properly equip 10, 000 hospitals to help to battle the desease. However, up till now Lassa fever has been further expanding as the sporadic deaths are reported across Nigeria almost every day. https://www.naij.com/712576-people-demand-mortuary-officials-release-corpse-alleged-lassa-victim-stage-protest.html |
Marvin Yobana says he moved to APC because President Buhari was performing well Defectors claim PDP has nothing to offer Mr. Marvin Yobana, the Africa’s representatives in the World Assembly of Youths and former aide to Mrs. Patience Jonathan has revealed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lied to the Niger Delta people about the personality of President Muhammadu Buhari. Yobana said this at the reception of over 700 defectors of PDP to APC in Khana local government area, he was an ardent supporter of former president, Goodluck Jonathan and was deceived into believing that President Buhari did not like Niger Delta people but 60 days after his assumption of office, he approved the implementation of the United Nations Empowerment Project report. Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Rivers South-East Senatorial District re-run election predicted that members of the PDP will move en-masse to the APC before the state and National Assembly re-run elections. Senator Abe said that the Ogoni people have realized that PDP has nothing to offer to them. He urged those still in PDP and wishing to decamp to do so immediately as the APC is willing to accept them and work with them in the campaign pointing out that those who worked for the party during the elections will also be considered by the party in victory. “We expect that we will work together to move Ogoni to greater height where everybody will have a chance of prosperity”, he said. He explained that that singular action tells that the Ogoni stand to benefit more in Buhari’s administration than being in the opposition party. He urged Ogoni people to vote massively for Senator Abe and other candidates of the APC at the re-run elections. In his speech at the event, Hon. Emma Deeyah, a former member of the House of Representatives, said that the Ijaw people under Jonathan’s administration let the Ogoni down and urged the Ogoni still in PDP to decamp en-masse to give support to President Buhari, pointing out that with Senator Abe as their representative in the Senate, he would attract development projects for the Ogoni and speak their minds in the upper legislative chamber. Also speaking, Hon. Maurice Pronen, the APC candidate in the House of Representatives for Gokana/Khana federal constituency re-run election, said that APC parades candidates with better credentials that PDP in the likes of Senator Magnus Abe and others. In his own speech, Hon. Asita Okorie Asita, the APC deputy gubernatorial candidate, said that they saw the victory of Buhari coming and asked Rivers people to be in the train, but some did not listen; but today, Buhari is the president. He urged Rivers people to eschew violence during and after the re-run elections and remain steadfast in APC as such will bring accelerated development than being in the opposition. In his speech while receiving the defectors, the State APC Secretary, Chief Emeka Bekee, said, “This is a great party that will handle the problem of Ogoni people. You have joined this party, go and preach our gospel, the gospel of peace, love and development of Rivers state”. https://www.naij.com/710785-pdp-lied-us-buhari-former-patience-jonathan-aide.html/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_group=free |
"CORRUPTION & WASTAGE: Buhari And Jonathan, At A Glance. FACT IS FACT. 1] Jonathan sold Petrol at N87 while Buhari is selling at average of N300 & above, yet Buhari supporters think Jonathan was more corrupt and wasteful. 2] When Jonathan Budgeted N1bn for feeding in Aso-Rock in 2011, and N517m in 2015, APC cried wolf and now Buhari's budget for same is N1.7billion. Yet Buharists are mute and still think GEJ was more corrupt and wasteful. 3] Jonathan spent N1.4bn to service all presidential jets in one year while Buhari spends N6bn on same in 6month yet Buharists think GEJ was more corrupt and wasteful. 4] Jonathan gave more funding to education while Buhari's 2016 budget favours Ministry of information more than education yet Buharists think GEJ was more corrupt/ wasteful. 5] Jonathan spent an average of N8million on each international trip while Buhari spends an average of N55million on each international trip, yet Buharists think GEJ was more corrupt and wasteful. 6] Jonathan created Over 5.8millon jobs in 5yrs while buhari has sacked over 2million workers in 8months. Check Federal Bureau of Statistics. 7] Jonathan made Nigeria's economy the best in Africa and No 1 investment destination & quadrupled our GDP in 4yrs while Buhari has dragged Nigeria's economy down to 14th position in ranking in just 7months. 8] Jonathan left Naira exchange rate @ N185 to $1 but Buhari with his Adama and Eve economics has destroyed the Naira in just 8 months which now sells at N315 to $1. 9] It took Jonathan less than 2weeks to select his cabinet including foreign based technocrats while it took Buhari 6months to do same. Even with indicted people and no single economist among the 36 names. 10] Buhari claimed that subsidy was fraud (Who is subsidizing who@) but buhari has spent N1.2trillion on fuel subsidy in the last 5 months and still no fuel while all Buharists have suddenly gone dumb. 11] Buhari/APC accused Jonathan of corruption but have not been able to pin one stain on him, while Muhammadu Buhari himself followed the crowd that entered into the #DasukiGate. 12] Under Jonathan freedom and liberty of Nigerians was not determined by party affiliation, but today under Buhari his perceived enemies and political opponents are leveled with frivolous allegations of crimes and intimidated with either the EFCC or the DSS. 13] Buhari does not have an Honorary WAEC but bags an illegal Honorary (Ph.D) from a university that have no PhD student and Not approved by NUC and yet Buharists respect his NEPA Bill more than GEJ's PhD. 14. Buhari used his secondary school principal's recommendation letter to become Military Head of State and again used Court Affidavit to become President and no one reminded him that these are the height of corruption. He Refused to declare his assets public, suppressing the FOI and denied all his 81 election promises and stayed in the last 8 months blaming former leaders. Jonathan was in that position, he never complained or blamed anyone, but faced his work even when Buhari's disgruntled brother ensured that Nigeria will know no peace. JUDGE FOR YOURSELF." |

Gov. Chuibike Amaechi's Youth Empowerment - By Steven L. Jaja 65, 000 youths turned up for the APC mega rally in Port Harcourt and were paid N3, 500 each. My cousin collected too. Do the multiplication. Amaechi is still owing 2012 Corp members their allowee. Amaechi is yet to pay the 13, 000 teachers he hired their salaries after many months of working for the state. Amaechi is now the ATM of APC. My state is bleeding courtesy of Amaechi but he won't go unpunished. Its obvious most people came there due to the high level of poverty and not because they actually love APC . Fellow Nigerians, if PDP or APC organizes and pay you, pls happily collect it and vote for your conscience during the election |

I intend to run my masters with uniport, but my transcript is not ready. I applied for it since May and the HOD keeps posting me just trying to make the whole thing difficult and boring as a custom! Presently , the school is on exams and he intends to give full attention after then which could be november 2014. Now, application for uniport masters ends 30th Oct, if the date is not shifted! I don't want to miss running my masters next year, please , is it possible to apply and meet up the deadline without my transcript, or if I do, I might be wasting resources as other schools insist on transcript before application. Please, advise me on what to do , I just have some dew days to left. Thanks |
