This is to inform the general public that the date for nysc batch B stream 11 orientation camp has been put on hold by the Director General, who announced this on ait tv station yesterday that due to the Ebola virus out break, there is need to put hold the nysc batch b stream 11 orientation camp. Due to the level of confusion by many about this information, I was challenged to find out from one of the nysc official who lives in abuja today. According to her, the nysc stream 11 orientation camp was not cancelled but would be reschedule for another day. Stressing further, she said because of the Ebola virus out break, the director general is taking measures to ensure that nysc camps across the country are free 4rm Ebola virus. She also said the fact about this information is because of the limited time to equip orientation camps before the date. She was able to explain more about providing medical personnels at the orientation camps to screen corps members b4 they enter their various camp and also equipping all the orientation camp clinics for the challenge of Ebola out break. As we all are aware that the stream 1 orientation camp ends 26 of this month, and it is a fact that the stream 11 will begin their orientation on the 1st of september, honestly there is limited time to do all the necessary as she has said. I also asked her if the batch c orientation camp would still hold this year? she gladly said that it is a must base on her own conclusion. According to her, comparing batch b stream 11 orientation camp date with batch c orientation camp date, one would adjudge there is enough time to make proper arrangement to put in place all that is necessary to prevent the Ebola virus in the camps before they are opened. To be specific, the batch b orientation camp date would be b4 the end of the month september and run through october, stressing that the specific date would be communicated later. In her own conclusion, the batch B stream 11 orientation camp date is in september and the batch c mobilisation is not affected. Good Luck! |

PANIC has overtaken many homes over the latest scourge. Nothing dominates discussions these days like Ebola, the virus that defies cure, and appears to defy diagnosis until the patient is at death’s gate. All the symptoms are normal for most Nigerians. We have regular bouts of fever from either malaria or typhoid or both. We sweat from our high humidity, whether during the rainy season or dry weather. Our eyes acquire features that could have resulted from malnutrition. We are Ebola suspects in many ways. Enough grounds exist for the panic. People infected die quickly. Those who make contact with them are the next in the line-up for death. Here comes a virus that kills the infected and infects caregivers, unless they take adequate care. Adequate care is impossible, considering that the patients’ status is not known until much later. Once patients exhibit symptoms of Ebola, there are high chances that relations and hospital staff would desert them. These fears are genuine. Governments in Lagos and Abuja have done very well in spreading information on the virus. There is more work ahead. The outbreak of the virus shows again the poor state of our medical facilities. Only a few of them can detect the virus, still fewer are equipped to prevent spread of infection to their staff and other patients. How many Nigerians know about Ebola? How many can protect themselves? Exploitation of the situation has started. The telecommunications companies have transferred their unsolicited messages to Ebola, asking their clients to subscribe to information on the virus at a cost. We would have expected that with the billions they make as profit, they would have run the messages as public service announcements. One of the things that gave the virus more global attention is the infection of two American charity workers Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol. They are currently under treatment with experimental drugs that other countries are asking should be extended to them. Three leading Ebola experts, among them Peter Piot, director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, who co-discovered the virus in 1976, asked that the drug be made more widely available. “It is highly likely that if Ebola were now spreading in Western countries, public health authorities would give at-risk patients access to experimental drugs or vaccines,” according to the joint statement in a newspaper. “The African countries where the current outbreaks of Ebola are occurring should have the same opportunity.” The World Health Organisation’s special meeting next week would explore using experimental drugs in West Africa. For Nigerians, Ebola, a virus that thrives in dirty environments, is also a call to clean up Nigeria and upgrade our medical facilities. |

Sodiq33: The first pic spoilt the point you are trying to make....i wonder!do students still study their books or they now study structures. |
Dreament: how come dem no release una results, na last wk them release our own (sociology) we go meet dean of students, he say na our hod hand edey. So we aproach our hod, within 2wks na im our results fall out. Some hod just 2 dey lazy to do their work. For their mind na ASUU strike make dem compile resultsdats realy good 4 u guys oo.i was in school d day they held emergency senate meeting.i met som of our lecturers in their offices and dey all said it wen ASUU call off strike dey can giv our results to senate.it was unfortunate dat after informin my course mates about meetin our lecturers in school, none of dem came.i believ if they wer wit me dat day, senate wud hav approved our results dat same day.well,my course mates ar not even serious to collect their results.dey dont want to come to school but dey want to hear deir results ar out.if i call dem,dey always giv fake excuses.it is either they complain they live too far or about transport.i jux pray dey answer us b4 its too late. |

In my own opinion, the world is a place of power politics or rather war politics were power driven political leaders come to display the capabilities at their disposal.first, every countries of the world propagate policies and is with this policies they align with each other(friendly).the us coming to interfere with the ongoing nuclear disarment is a clear picture of america mission to protect the world from destruction.in international relations wars ar inevitable because the world atlarge is a place where countries come to showcase their capabilities.policies may be friendly and or aggressive.the us mission to syria is part of her aggressive policies.b4 a country leader will go into war with another, there's need to access the means at disposal.the resolution of the united nations with regards to world nuclear disarment stated in its articles that the world wud fast come to callapse if countries of the world shud continue engagin in what wud bring an end to human existence.the us being the world most powerful in its part of her policies extends her interest in protectin and eliminating threat to her first class citizens and second citizens existence. The us nuclear disarment policies ar boldly based on protecting her citizens(first class) and world citizens(second class) and the planet. The us is extending and influencin her policies globally by engaging and prosecutin wars and terrorism within and outside her geographical congestion. The manner in which one country responds to another country's interest dsame result she wud get(vice versa)if a countrys policy is aggressive towards another countrys interest the result wud b dsame. There4,my point here is dat,the us mission to syria to interfere and engage in war with syria is totally international politics of power wereby d Us display her capabilities 4 the world to view at large. |
Wow,am xo xo happy now..i jux got information from my school dat d strike embark upon by ASUU will not affect november nysc posting.a good source (lecturer) told me dat our various schools will rectify d problem cos also nysc officials are aware that dere is universities nation wide strike. he went further to say dat its only when d strike is not nation wide dats d only way it can affect a particuar school nysc posting.he also said universities dat could not meet up for their students result to be approved wud b given a space of time to meet up with other schools.am happy 4 dis.i jux hope dis come to pass.lets hope so oooo |
Tank u my dear@Godwin |
@Godwin,its indeed my pleasure meeting u,my fellow scientist.i am sony and i graduated last yr frm ambrose alli university, ekpoma.am currently waitin to serve in the november nysc batch c.u ar welcome my fellow scientist. |
My fellow political scientists,i am creating dis page for all those who are hard core political scientists and also for those who are still undergoing the vigorous study of political science.we ar going to be using this trend to communicate issues within the public fora or rather to propagate ideologies within d context of nigeria and africa as a whole and other countries of the world.please, feel free to communicate to us what u feel should be communicable to us for us place insightful explanations as to what your communication is based.i welcome u all felow scientist! |
We ar havin thesame problem in d dept of political science, ambrose alli university, ekpoma.our exams and records officer who is in charge of compiling our results only compiled the results of those who wer stil arround the university campus and those who lobby to make sure they join the batch b.the dept did not attend to those of us who wer not arround after our graduatin yr.wen we came in groups to disturb the officer in charge,he claimed those of us he is yet to attend to ar having minor problems and he has been expectin us to come and rectify the problem.it was recently dey finishd computing our results just immediately we rectified the problem wen it was time to giv our results to the school senates ASUU strike came from no were.now we dont know our fate to join the batch c nysc yr. |
