Mazi_Omenuko: Haven't been to the US yet but the places I've been, trolleys are free upon request!
Places like? In heathrow d normal ones like that of nija are free but if u have to u a longer and bigger one its not free
TravelRe: How I Suffered At Murtala Mohammed Airport Today::::::::::::::::::::::::::: by DobraDobra: 8:47am On Jul 02, 2014
My problem with this write up is that its about people coming into the country from God knows where. One thing for sure is that they obeyed all rulles and regulations from those countries if they are told jump they ask how high. But once we get into nija we drop all decorum because I can't see why we need to rush into d bus and we don't need police or soldier to tell us what to do. I have met nigerians at atleast 4 airports abroad we are d most gentle and most behaved why why why do we misbehave in our own country. Yes wwe can blame d government for lack of facilities but I remebered we once obey rules in dis country with out anybody looking over our shoulders
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by DobraDobra: 5:02pm On Jun 30, 2014
customised87: Ohh...So good NL is back!

Ok,so i went to my visa interview on Mon,June 23rd at the Lagos consulate with my mum n we were granted visa. Thanks to all the gurus in the house, i learnt alot from this thread. The interview went like this

We got to the consulate at about 6:10am for a 9:30am appointment and joined the queue at 8:40am,we didnt get to the sitting area till like 10:30am and got into the interview hall minutes after 11am and got interviewed at few mins to 12pm. So many applicants were refused especially people that applied alone. I saw families been granted visas, students in uniforms and even elderly people. They kept asking everyone if they had travelled outside the country before, they didnt care whether it was an African country or not, they were particular about that question. Although they still refused many ppl with travel history, a lady told them she has been to Italy,Germany,China,Dubai etc, they still refused her. A woman even argued with the VO that there should always be a first time of doing everything now but he said he has refused her. They didnt wanna see any docs
To God be the glory,we were granted and it went thus
Consular: hellooooo (with a smile)
Mum n I: Good morning
Consular: I think i have just one passport with me here (pointed to me n said) yours
(We earlier made a mistake of picking different tallies but the person that did my fingerprint said We should go together whenever any of our tally numbers was called)
I: its a family application,we r applying together ( at this point, the VO said he would try n get my mum's passport,he came back like 10 secs later with the passport.
VO: how are you two related?
I: she's my mum
VO: oh ok. I see you are going to New York.
I: yes, Brooklyn New York
VO: why are you going to new york?
I: we ve been invited to attend the annual thanksgiving and harvest prog of so so so from so so so date to so so so date
VO: who is inviting you?
I: its a church prog so the church
VO: how does the church know you are here in Nig?
I: oh,its the church leader thats inviting us
VO: how is he related to u? Is he family?
I: no,he's just our church leader
(He nods his head)
VO: who is the sponsor of the trip?
I: i would sponsor myself and my mum would sponsor herself
VO: what do u do?
I: i own a bridal store,i sell bridal dresses and wedding gowns
VO: i see you ve been to UAE
I: yes, twice
VO: what did u go to do there?
I: business and sightseeing
VO: would u be buying dresses from the States when u travel?
I: no, i have an agent that does that for me here in Nig so i wouldnt
VO: who would you be travelling with?
I: my father and my brother
VO: do they ve their visas yet?
I: yes (attempts to bring out the visa pages but he waves me down)
VO: do u have employees that work with you?
I: yes
VO: how many of them?
I: 8 of them
VO: (all the while typing, raised up his head and packed both our passports n put them on one side) i would approve your visas, pls pick them up on Thurs at the circled point
I: thank you (forming not to care) lool. All the while my mum was just smiling to him beside me,he didnt ask one single question about her. It lasted for less than 2 mins
Nice one u make it sound so easy and stress free what a good way of motivating people in dis new phase of nairaland. You went with faith and your faith work for you. Good luck on the trip

AutosOdometer Fraud Huge Problem From Canada To Nigeria Export by DobraDobra(op): 12:37pm On Oct 21, 2010
ARE WE DRIVING MOVING COFFINS?

Hello, can you please tell me of any news channels, news papers and internet classifieds where i can reach the mass public of nigeria about almost every car from toronto being exported to nigeria has the kilometers rolled back?

I want the public to know that these people from Toronto are buying high mileage unsafe cars most with over 200,000 km and many over 300,000km and rolling back the mileage to less than 100,000km, they even remove the check engine and brake lights on dash so your people have no idea what they are driving. I see it happen every day as I work next door to a shipper, I watch them roll back the kilometers to at least 20 cars a day and that only this one shipper in Mississauga on Tompkin and Kamato. Innocent people from Nigeria are being ripped of by their own people from Toronto and they are being endangered because they have no idea what shape their car is really in. I want to inform the Nigerian public that they can check on websites the real mileage of their cars such as carfax and car proof which gives the cars actual kilometers and if its been in a accident. Ive posted this information on a bunch of online websites but need your help to reach the whole market about what is happening. If you can give me information on news channels and papers and online classifieds that many in Nigeria read it would be highly appreciated in my attempt to shut down these criminals defrauding their own people.

Do you know how many Toyota Camry Carolla Sienn, Honda Accord Crv Oddyssy from years 1998-2005 go from Toronto Mississauga to Nigeria with less than 100,000 km? Hundreds every week. The shippers and exporters both roll back the mileage to maximize their profits. Looks on autotrader.com , you wont find one 98-2003 Carolla Camry Accord Oddyssy or Sienna with under 100,000km yet hundreds a week leave Toronto to Nigeria. If you need proof let those buying these cars in nigeria know about carfax and carproof and use it before buying a car. All they have to do is go on line type in the vin number and the cars history will show up.

Thank you

TravelRe: 10 Years Ban For Overstaying In The UK. And Migrants Coming To The UK. by DobraDobra: 12:21am On Sep 08, 2010
Suave64:
Hi I would like to know if I would be allowed to transit through the UK. I overstayed and left voluntarily, but through the assisted program. I.e. my ticket was bought for me. Right now I live in the Caribbean where we do not require a visa to go the the UK and want to visit Nigeria, but have to pass through London. Would that be a problem?
1. Are u using nigerian passport? 2. was ur finger print taking while u were assisted to go back to nigeria? 3, are u legal in the caribean country u are at the moment ?
now, u are using nigerian passport u will definately need a transit visa to pass through uk and if ur finger print was taking with ur name and date of birth it will raise a question about ur intention in uk and ur legality in ur present country of residence. if i may know which of the caribean countries are u at the moment ?

i find it very difficult to believe that it is the same person in custody that wrote this write up coss i saw it in sahara reporters and am seeing it here again i equally refuse to believe u have enough time on the internet in prison to write all the above, that is even if u have access to any internet. while i sympathise with any body in police custody or prison this write up willl change nothing in the policy against illegality

So can i sponsor myself?
yes u can sponsor ur self into uk u need not know any body u will come in under tourist visa but to help u more u need to make ur hotel reservation this will help ur application in a great way

@Castalia
Reason is cos you have just got a reason to go there, ie, you could state the occation on your application and they could in turn invite you and states dates, time and location of teh event in question.,by doing so you've just spread your tentacles lol dunno if spelt right.
ur reson to go there should be more than just writting it down u need to provide the invitation card or letter for the graduations from the schools this will help ur application

janezkonc:
if you have where to sleep, you have residence, as long as you have visa and paid accommodation. you want 1 years residence permit, you must have one year visa and one year paid accommodation. it is simply so. if you are mega rich, in some country you get residence permit for 10 years, so called C visa in switzerland.
even people from Romania and Bulgaria, who are part of EU, are deported back if they don't have where to sleep. they don't need visa, but they need money to finance themselves, in other case, they face deportation.
i believe u are joking with what u wrote the only serious thing in it about deportation of romanians and Bulgarians but if u have money it does not give u residence pls
