Did they marry before or after the Diversity Visa winner won the lottery? If after, frankly, my guess is that it was never a real marriage at all, and I'm not inclined to give them advice. (If I'm right, it's unlikely that anyone will be deported, but they may have trouble being allowed to naturalize as U.S. citizens.)

Thanks VO for your reply am not sure which came first lottery or marriage I will ask once they are awake but on my part I think it was after lottery but will correct my thought once I get my facts right thank you MA

The couple married in nigeria and won lottery a little over 2 yrs in American now there is problem with d family beause the husband got to know d baby they had in America ( d wife came in with d pregnancy) does not belong to him after a routen medical examination because d baby was veru sick and full family examination was need. D wife confessed who d father is probably got pregnant after a let's kiss and say good bye meeting with d former boyfriend. Now d centre can not hold d man want out of the union but afraid because they are visa lottery migrants. Please is divorce allowed for lottery winners and what is d concequence of this divorce if any.

VisaOfficer:
Committing fraud to enter the U.S. as a Diversity Visa applicant -- in this case, failing to tell us about a pre-existing spouse and children -- constitutes unlawful entry into the U.S. Unfortunately (in my opinion), this fraud often does not come to light until the person has entered the U.S. as a Legal Permanent Resident. If we find out before the person travels, we can stop him from traveling, or keep him from adjusting status as an LPR. One the person becomes an LPR, though, the consequences change somewhat. If there are additional offenses involved, we may start considering deportation... but if the failure to list the spouse and children is the only violation, we likely would not pursue deportation (although, legally, we could). The person will have difficulties becoming an American citizen, though, because he has committed fraud.

Aside from all the patriotic reasons why becoming an American citizen is a good thing, keep in mind that American citizens enjoy certain rights and protections that LPRs do not.

A U.S. citizen is eligible to receive a U.S. passport. Many countries allow visa-free travel for U.S. citizens.

A U.S. citizen can leave and reenter the U.S. at any time without being subject to the grounds of inadmissibility or requiring a reentry permit. There are no restrictions on the number of days you can remain outside the United States.

U.S. citizens can vote in U.S. federal and local elections, hold certain government jobs, and serve on juries. Many federal and state government grants, scholarships and benefits are available only to U.S. citizens.

As a U.S. citizen, you can petition for a number of your relatives to immigrate. Your spouse, unmarried children under age 21, and parents will be considered immediate relatives, and eligible to immigrate just as soon as you can get through all the paperwork and interviews. Your married children and children over age 21, as well as your brothers and sisters, are considered preference relatives, and can be put on a waiting list to immigrate.

U.S. citizens who break the law enjoy certain protections that LPRs do not. Remember, LPRs can be deported.

Also, as you all know, it makes me really cranky when I find out people have looked me in the eyes and lied to me. You don't want me to lose my faith in human nature, do you?!?
Good day ma and welcome back nice to read from u. Without trying to coverup for someone that got d visa fraud ad u said. What is d concequence if the person becomes citizen before coming out with d truth. U only talk about if d person is LPR

Learn to quote properly.

I have a very good understanding of what's going on because I live here (30 years) and I am a political and social science hobbyist.

You're just another low ranking member of the anti US brigade.
Why on earth have I been replying u I must have brough my self so low now I know u lived in America for 30 yrs do u know some people where born dia? I slept very well last night and I wasn't the least bit conversed about ebola.

So your the whole America thing is regademdiulous.

Nigeria was and never will be a measuring stick for anything the US does. Don't get it wrong.[/

Good to know u slept well now let menpuy it well. Important people and people that matters in America were running about having sleepless nite. Every body know this group cant be everybody. For a fact there is no need to comparing what America has be come to what nigeria is dia is no basis for such
Yes the hospital failed, it's as simple as that. No worries, no other hospital in the US will fail again. This is what separate a first world country and a third world country.

Now, the Liberian citizen lied to his country men and was actually going to be prosecuted by them for falsification on departure form. Additionally I am confident that he would have been prosecuted by Texas Attorney General for bioterrorism activities. He knowingly entered a US flight known that he was infected.

Why are you not talking about all these and instead solely focusing on the US hospital and there failure? Are you siding with a bioterrorism criminal Liberian?

No I do not support wat u claimed neither do I support bigotry. If its claimed d liberian man ia aware of having ebola and he got in with all conciousnes but he still went into d hospital and said where he came from. Lets accept error can happen in d best places of dis world .american government now use nigeria as a standard against all odds in nigeria. Yes d whole or America is not sleeping now checks every where do u think ebola victims will want to come in dia coss of treatment? No coss dia is none at d moment its only managing crisis dat is available. U said there will be no case again? Lets wait and see. By d way how did d nurse got it? PPE procedure failed or dey are fake or she was not trained? Errors do happen anywhere

GeneralShepherd:
Comparing the ebola situation in America with what happened in Nigeria is the fallacy of false equivocation.

It is common knowledge that ebola started from a case zero in Nigeria like in America, but there is a difference.

1. American Healthcare system is more robust, better equipped and has a better structure than the Nigerian system. This means the risk of an outbreak is minimal.

Nigeria had only Mr.Sawyer and we know what we battled to curtail ebola.

2. The most important factor to consider is that our borders are very porous. This means that there is a risk of illegal entry of ebola infected individuals.. This can only mean that before the government finds out, it might be too late for an effective containment plan.

Where as it is more difficult to illegally enter USA from West Africa
My guy listen to news and for information u don't have to enter a country illegally b4 u bring ebola to them. With all d expertise and well equiped mediacl facilities in america duncan was sent home on his first visit to d hospital even after telling dem he was from liberia was d doctor mad? Now another health worker is down with ebola cdc procedure did not work she brake protocol on ppe are u telling she was not trained. Now tell me we can't compare america with nigeria un ebola mind u they have said they are expecting more cases.

We need to drop that beggar mentality.

The "assist me" "help me" etc is a sign of a dysfunctional society.

Nigeria is a beggar nation, which surprisingly is full of beggars with a sense of entitlement.

Na you know with your spiritual weapon. My brain is too advanced for such.
High level of ignorance am not here to argue with u and nobody will die or go about naked if u don't give and most importantly nobody will miss ur givings we have millions making a difference with what dey give so few people like u are so so so not relevant

you can't fold your arms and claim the system has defeated u, if you can't work with and within the system, then work out and without the system, yes it would cost more but then, such is the price of nation building afterall, i beleive u agree with me that Nigeria is the only nation on earth where you'll never have to explain your presence in, the only nation in the world where you won't owe anyone an apology for living in.
My guy dis will not end its a discussion for ever but one fact is dis what faces me turn its back to someone else. I know where I am coming from I know where I am and I know where am going. Any country that accept me as human and care and provide for my needs and my family dat is my country. I am allowed to make a choice just like any one if any one feels fulfilled in nija goodluck if I am satisfy in syria hoodluck to me no one will miss me in d redevelopment of nija. @BraniacX “Nigeria is not utopia, but it is what we got, building her up is a collective responsibility that involves u and me

In a situation where d poor carry d responsiblity more than d rich or more previledged dia will be no building up and dis is nigeria. In a country where u have to pay to get a job with d government dia can be no build up where u have to pay half a million as bribe to get promotion dia will be no build up in a place where nysc needs 4k from graduates and everybody at d top feel its ok dia will be no build up.

BraniacX: i agree with u on everything except the no disease that'll cost £200k, my source was a BBC chat show over 2 years ago and am having trouble digging it up, when i do, i'll post the link then you can make up your own mind.
Ok for d purpose of this lets assume dia is a medical procedure that cost 200k yes justbas I said if d patient even after treatment have few months left dey will not spend such money. But if d patient will survive for yrs or d treatment will prevent other people falling sick dia is no cap on d money. Do u know how much was spent on d ebola guy from africa.? Dey used military plane to bring him dat wasvalued monetarily d bed he slept in d hospital cost 50k his whole treatment is over 200k we are talking bout here.all in all even with d cap pls we cant compare nija and some country and its d rulers and not d ruled dat cause d problem. D poor send dia kids to school abroad dey mild d poor dry on all form of tax and we uave nothing to show.
TravelRe: On Nigerians And The 'must Travel Mentality' by DobraDobra: 10:38pm On Oct 03, 2014
BraniacX: i agree with u almost totally except on the part where u said there is no proceedure that'll cost £200,000k, there are chronic reccurent proceedures e.g some types of malignant growths that need continuos treatment and though you'll not spend the aforementioned amount in one swoop, with time, the cost of management will get to and possibly exceed that amount and am also happy with the fact that you mentioned the role charity sometimes plays but the problem is Nigerians expect their goverment to provide complete and total healthcare for all diseases for them even when model goverments of countries they'll like to go to can't provide these for their citizens, am just trying to say, the goverment has not done as much as they can do for us but the goverments of those countries they'll like to go to are not nursemaid to their citizens, they are more like patners who say i would do most but you to will do small too and that is what the Nigerian goverment is trying to do with NHIS for us but many Nigerians are so fond of Naija-bashing and always see only the bad tins and nothing good at all.
Go back and read wat i wrote am still going to repeat it dia is no medical procedure dat will take 200k I said if d person have few yrs left to use they will not spend too much money onbd drug rather they will provide d one dat will give d person relif and a meaning way to die. I have 2 cases 1. A nigerian woman dat carried drugs and was caught and sent to prison dia she got sick and was check she got brain cancer and she said dats wat she wanted to use d money for .my guy her head was opened up and treated FREE finished her jail den sent bk to nija 2. Illegal worker nija lady was caught working equally went to jail but she has appointment for operation for fibroid she was taken dia from prison treated free fijish her sentence and was sent to nija. Dis is a country dat will trat u first b4 asking question rather nija will ask u wetin u go do dia y u carry drug y are u illegal die if u wan die

BraniacX: i have and u're quite right so i won't disagree with you but that was your own personal experience but having said that, the scenario you described didn't state that your friend was at imminent risk of dying(very sick yes, dying no) and also it implies that the hospital beds were totally filled up, truth is goverment hospital are understaffed, not adequately equipped and truth be told the patient population is also very high as you yourself experienced but the good news is that thanks to the not so satisfactory service you received or should i say despite it, your friend survived. Imagine a scenario where after the doctor at the private hospital gave up on your friend, there was no unsatisfactory goverment hospital to refer him/her to? What do you think will happen then?
My guy must my friend be on d point of death b4 treatment comes? For a fact dying or living is in d hand of God if not yet ones time one wont die. My friend was on d point of death it was kidney wahala. Look thet bought everything dey used from gloves to cotton wool I was dia I saw it u pay for all test d wife slept on d floor under d stairs u will even strugle to have a space. I am a nigerian first b4 any other nationalty but I have spent lesser yrs abroad dan all I spent in nija but I know d diffrence between hell and heaven. I love nija but I wish it can be all we dream of

BraniacX: neither will she be denied emergency treatment in any goverment hospital in Nigeria even during a strike, there are always doctors available to attend to strictly emergency cases.
But as you said, she was taken to a private hospital. I don't know the law but i would like to beleive there is a law that mandates doctors to attend to patients in emergency situations even in private hospitals although enforcement is another thing. Its a pity sha

BraniacX: i know but the really really expensive proceedures say £200,00 and above are not covered for by the NHS because the goverment spending that amount on one individual automatically and drastically reduces the amount available to spend on other individuals so brits who can afford it, go to france and germany for proceedures the NHS can't cover, others to india. My point is, free healthcare has a monetary cap and you'll be deluding yourself if you think otherwise so i insist, no goverment has all the answers and solutions and no goverment can shoulder all the responsibility
My guy I work in d health industry let us leave story out of dis I don't get ur £200:00 I believe u mean £200k. Ok dia is no medical procedure dat will be up to dat even if dey have to remove ur vital organs ok let's talk cancer yes dia is cap on what NHS will give u dey will provide less expensive drugs wen dia is prove dat d person will die in number of months dey just wat to give u dignify last moment. My gus do u listen to news here if government can't do it charities will do of recent did u hear about d small boy dat has brain cancer and d parents took away from d hospital? Yes police went after dem got dem in spain but people made noise of dia arrest and dey where left alone ok nhs said dey can't pay 65k for d boys treatment charity came up with d money later nhs came back and say dey will foot d bill. My guy nija is my country if a forigner talks bad about nija will fight dia but wen its between us nija our selves we know our selves better wat face me turn its back to someone else. For me any country dat accept d whole of u is ur country. Yes dey do discriminate but if u know ur onions u will go smiling to d bank my friend in nija we discriminate among our selves worst dan wat oyinbo will do to us with oyinbo I can challenge it in nija I can not dey will say quotersystem
