TonyeBarcanista:I don't fault your opinion on this issue. But what do we have as a country. Critical national issues are subjugated to the dictates of primordial interests. The ECA will ever remain a controversy. The Presidency won't let go of it because of legislative delays. Why the NASS cannot pass the necessary lay abrogating the ECA beats my imagination. |
TonyeBarcanista:The $1b was enmeshed in controversy. NASS accused presidency of not consulting and getting a nod from them while the presidency said it is aware of the need to get NASS approval. Meanwhile, a differing opinion said the ECA was not a creation of the constitution, so cannot be legislated upon by the NASS as has been the case from the onset. I believe the current imbroglio is a product of the original $1b issue. |
TonyeBarcanista:A NASS member (?HOR) says otherwise, prompting the speaker to refer the case to the appropriate house committee. |
TonyeBarcanista:Can the president send another expenditure bill to the NASS when the appropriation bill has not been passed? |
@OP, many will surely avoid commenting because you didn't indict the president. Whenever I watch the NASS members indulge in their camaraderie, I feel nostalgic about the NASS of 1979-83, 1992/93 and 1999-2003. The NASS members know the exercise is in futility. |
Hmmmmmmm Didn't read the communiqué based on some gut feeling-. True men of God never behave this way. The bishops have been encapsulated in ethnic politics, reason why they never appeal to God for intercession in this issue. Curiosity compelled me to check the signatories to the press release . I wasn't surprised about the identity of the culprits. It can only be them. |
Omooba77:It is obvious you can't remember the content or title of your post. No be only generalised question, na field mashalised question. Nosense |
Omooba77:Now we are getting somewhere. Wouldn't it have been more enlightening if your topic ha read "Work on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway stopped due to budget wahala" Abi you de fear to implicate the NASS as they are obviously the reason for cessation of work. OK, it is a daily mama to blame FG/PMB. You must have conveniently forgotten when Fashola was lamenting when the NASS slashed the budgetary provision to N10b. Very convenient for you. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/www.nigerianmonitor.com/fashola-blasts-nass-for-reducing-budgetary-allocation-for-lagos-ibadan-road-others/amp/ It was gathered that the lawmakers reduced the budget for the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway from N31bn to N10bn, while the vote for the Second Niger Bridge was cut from N15bn to N10bn. But as against N115bn budgeted for the federal lawmakers in 2016, the National Assembly hiked its budget to N125b |
Omooba77:You see why it is not good to tell lies or write out of ignorance. Because when you are caught napping you are bound to look like a fool. |
@OP, budget, budget, budget. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/www.punchng.com/well-defend-lagos-ibadan-expressway-in-2018-budget-senator/amp/ Read from above link. Don't write without knowledge. |
Nobody can die in the ICU of a hospital because of inability or refusal to eat. Never. As ferocious as the lion is, it can still be fed very well. So if this is a joke by Dino to attract sympathy, then he is on a long trek and whenever he chooses to wake up, he will find himself looking fresher and more robust than he was before being admitted. |
Oh, God Almighty, give our president the knowledge, wisdom, might, and courage to subdue the various insurgencies plaguing our dear nation, Nigeria. O Father, helpfully purge the hearts of all haters of hatred. Turn their heart away from iniquitous tendencies. Do this for their own salvation in Jesus name. Amen. |
MaziOmenuko:I agree with you on the idea of hospitalizing him in Kogi state especially at the Govt House Clinic, Government House, Lokoja, Kogi state |
Hmmmmmm It is surprising how the garrulous senator has suddenly become an obedient citizen, quiet, docile, pliable, and punctual with appointment with court sessions. The shock of Dino's capitulation must still be flowing in his veins. |
Okonjo Iweala for President!! |
See quarrel and fight in lieu of unanimity. Well till when your pick throws his hat in the ring, then and only then will the mortician commence his autopsy A non- entity like Dakwambo is being promoted far and above his zone of comfort. Education top notch, who apart from his immediate family did it help. How was he able to use such combo certificates to see his state through the recession. Did he not ride on the back of the man you people chose to despise to swim across the tide of recession by collecting all proffered FG handouts like Paris refund, budget support fund etc. Tonye, himself, has wisely seen the futility of a Dakwambo candidacy. However, the Markafi he is selfishly projecting shall be dissected at the appropriate time. |
Hmmmmmm OK, Professor Branding, now that you have branded it the way it suits you, are you gonna just perch on your lazy ass and do nothing. Please, don't make me believe you are a lazy yooth. Do something. |
Uduaghan may not be a politician with a compelling charisma but no one can deny the fact that he has transversed all known corridors of power, taken all known oaths in all PDP shrines, contributed his own share of the evils bequeathed by PDP to generations. He was a former commissioner of health, a former SSG to the Ibori govt, and a two time governor of Delta state.. So those expressing opinions from a less informed background just to cement their lazy status should take note |
Elliot2:Very very fair and square opinion. |
GavelSlam:My belle o! Gavel Slammed!! |
TonyeBarcanista:Completed. Drugs have expiratory date for a reason. The Markafis are past their prime. |
Hmmmmmm I always confuse this man with the former Chairman, HOR petrol subsidy probe saga, Farouk Lawan.. May be because both dishonorable legislators midwifed probes that were characterized by cover ups, bribery, rancour and ultimately inconclusive outcome. Typical of PDP. |
life2017:Of course. Check all PDP youth chairmen, at least I am very familiar with many by default, they are either retired soldiers/policemen, displaced agbero heads from motor parks etc. |
By accepting a mere appointment, a man has become persona non grata. He is now loathed. Hate is debilitating to the soul and a recipe for disaster. |
Hmmmmmm 35years in Nigeria. Iro no. It is a lie. |
Igbo's of the 80's, 90"s and early 2000 that I used to know were very friendly and accommodating.. But I stopped visiting since 2014 because the current generation I see defies all known evolutionary theorem. Sociocultural/ethnoreligious evolution gone wrong can only be the ready explanation. It really pains me. |
vedaxcool:They are not only lazy in thoughts but would rather drink poison and die than to admit that the lunch eaten by their sibs/kids is from the stable of PMB. |
I have come to realise that 99% of the toxic rants against the president is from a certain section of the country. I have also come to realise that nothing, I mean nothing will change the narrative. My resolve is to permit the flies accompany and be buried with the corpse . |
I only read the first paragraph and I think I am OK. Right step in the right direction. What took them so long? |
Paperwhite:Hmmmmm, your laziness does not belong to the category referred to by PMB.Yours is toxic |
fairfora:Irrelevant epistle from a lazy Nigerian youth. |
Hmmm Omo-Agege!Trying times we have. Before the Senate/Saraki act further on this issue, he(Saraki) should consult Ibori, Uduaghan, Ighoyota, and PDP, Delta state on the enigma called Omo-Agege. Nationally, he is unknown because he is a first time senator. He is well bred in all manners of approach to Nigerian politics. If his interests sit at the bottom of the Lion's belly, he will brace the odd. |
