When it comes to Pharmaceuticals the goal shouldn't entirely be on numbers but quality..It would be a dream come true if Nigerian can handle the bulk of it's Pharmaceutical productions. What's the reality on ground though?

Most Nigerian Pharmaceuticals still rely on the importation of ingrédients (API) for the fabrication of drugs, which in return still keep prices high.

Samples in 2019 revealed a very disturbing pattern in Lagos even amongst registered Pharmacies. When 102 drugs were sampled, 76 were substandard, 30 were falsely labeled. Other parameters of purity were even more disturbing ..

Whilst I commend the governments effort towards self sufficiency in the Pharmaceutical industry, more still has to be focused on quality control and efficacy...2 quality drugs in purity and active ingredients is better than 30 substandard ones..
