Trying to figure out the cheapest way to send some stuff to Nigeria  from  Arlington/Dallas Texas, the usual couriers UPS, DHL, FEDEX,  are too expensive and of course USPS/NIPOST is very unreliable,  if anyone knows any RELIABLE shippers  in Arlington or the DFW area , your input would be appreciated

All,

Thanks for your comments.

Needless to say NL is simply one good resource.

I've also had issues with some company called PSI Logistics in Houston, TX.

The clowns are nothing but crooks. Lies, all sorts.

Does anyone know any reliable company that I can use to air freight some personal items such as cameras, shirts, laptops et al to Nigeria?
Please, RELIABLITY before price.

Infact, Gina-Ukey, which one of the recommended freighters have u used and please, what was your experience like,

Looking at some of the replies here i still cant help but think that there are some really deluded people in here. You expect a man to  permanently show self restraint while you go around acting like a possessed creature. NEWSFLASH! Your sex does not give  you the right to misbehave, if  you happen to strike another human being then be prepared for whatever comes your way. Why that is so hard to understand baffles me,

Ive been shaking my head while reading one posters horrible attempt to murder the English Language all because she wants to be Akata By Force, apart from the fact that most of her comments are hardly legible they are completely off topic and her logic is totally twisted. She has made up this fantasy in her head of the man being the "Big Bad Wolf" and the woman being Snow white or is it Little Red Riding Hood, ?When we all know real life is never black or white. I believe that for every action there is a reaction, if anyone be it man or woman strikes another person physically , you have opened the door for the offended party to retaliate however they see fit.If the man is to be publicly condemned as a wife beater the same should be for the woman , after all assault is assault regardless of gender. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

@ tpia

Tolls on the roads abroad are made on newly constructed roads - your examples are NEWLY constructed, not refurbished roads already belonging to the government. That is the fundamental difference between what LASG is trying to do and what obtains elsewhere.

Secondly, alternate routes are always provided to tolled highways so yes, tolls are mandatory if you use the tolled highway, but the use of the tolled highway is optional, as other viable (but possibly more crowded) routes.

In our rush to quote 'overseas' let's make valid comparisons.

If a private firm builds railways in Lagos for urban transit, no one will argue if they choose to set their prices based on what it costs to make a profit on their investment. However, don't expect people to accept such a toll when the alternate routes are not viable.
Abeg educate some of this people, they just come on here and spit half truths thinking they can get away with it.

i think suspending the toll road is a bad idea.

the complainers are the same ones who five, ten years from now will start comparing nigeria with malaysia and indonesia, and whining about our lack of infrastructure.

short sighted people.
So let me get this straight you're basically saying that the road to better infrastructure and all round development in Nigeria is toll fees right?

Some people stay comparing Nigeria to America saying that there are 7 abi 12 abi 17 types of tax in America. For goodness sake Nigeria is NOT America if you want to model Nigeria after America do that in your imagination or when you become King.We are a different country with our own unique problems.Part of our problem is this whole copycat thing we,ve got going on .We see things in other cultures and lift them completely and transplant them here with no modification. We lift from the U.K lift from the U.S lift from Europe at the end of the day its a wonder how we as a people still have any sense of national identity. We need to close our eyes and start to figure out our own solutions and stop borrowing from other cultures in the name of "Global Practice".So because they charge Lord Knows how many different type of taxes in America we must do so or else government wont run successfully in Naija?Contrary to popular belief America is not Paradise neither is Nigeria hell.Regardless of what Fashola's intentions maybe the execution of this whole affair is rubbing a whole lot of people the wrong way and at the end of the day he may risk alienating the same people this thing is supposed to benefit.I honestly think going back to the drawing board isn't such a bad idea, if only for the people's sake after all this whole thing is for the masses right?

First, which of these Lagosians who earn under $7.50 a day also have cars and thus are plying that road frequently in their own sedan? Also, it isn't by force you use the road. There is an alternative route posted on the LCC website. And if the 120 naira is too much, carpool or take some sort of public transport.
Well what sort of public transportation would you suggest? The efficient Metro/Danfo bus? Or is it the safe and swift Okada/Light rail, lol?People, work pay taxes  grovel and take whatever bs comes their way all so they can get a car (perhaps Naija used  heard of that?) Then the government comes with silly double taxes to all but  take that away with its short sightedness and greed, regardless of the percentage  the fact remains that CITIZENS of the state are negatively affected and im pretty sure they are not in the minority!Whats the average pay rate for a fresh graduate in Nigeria nowadays do you know (and im not talking oil, banks or telecoms) ? And as for car pooling yeah that's cool, assuming you get gas at all even for an unreasonable rate, then you don't get late dealing with early morning traffic. Get off your elitist high horse and listen to what every one is saying IF at all any toll should be imposed N120 is far from ideal the fact that you and your immediate community find it adequate does not mean it is ideal for the majority, people do not like it period .

Tolls are not only for bridges. We have the Sam Houston tollway in Houston, for example.

No difference in raising taxes and just directly raising money through tolls.

120 is not even a buck. GSay two trips a day, 25 trips a month, that is 50*120 = 6000 naira, $40 only. eTag knocks off 10%, dropping to $36. Factor in gas savings, the value of his time (shorter commute >> longer commute), etc, and the net cost might be more like $15 or $20.

And if he is too cheap to pay for this, then he has the option of taking public transportation, or taking a longer route. Or selling his property and moving back east, if he so desires  grin
Well Mr Genius did it occur to you that a lot of Lagosians earn less than $7.50 a day which is the minimum hourly wage in Texas? Your talking about less than a buck a day are you serious? Or are you that out of touch with reality, Are there not alternative routes to get to your location than getting on the Beltway/Sam Houston Tollway? Please tell me the alternative route to get to Lekki? And just so its clear im all for the toll just not at this exorbitant rates and only after the road is completed,
