Kennedy Emetulu has potentially put the boy's life in danger by mentioning the charity involved. if only there is some reporting restriction so he can be done for contempt.
For someone who claim to be a lawyer, his press release is a disgrace.  Below is the Full text of Edirin lawyers press release which makes more sense than the rubbish statement from Kennedy Emetulu and his RNC gang.
Nigerians always let emotions rule their head.

Media Release
Dated: 15 February 2011
Embargo: None
Media Release: Edirin Onojeta-Idogun
__________________________________________________ _________________________
1. Edirin Onojeta-Idogun was born on 10 March 1993 he is now aged 17. He is represented by
Anne-Marie Hutchinson of Dawson Cornwell as his solicitor and next friend. He is a ward of
court. His exact whereabouts are unknown.

2. His mother is Lydia Erhire she lived until recently at an address in Newham, London which
had been the family home for a number of years.

3. His father is John IDOGUN he is a special adviser to the Governor of Delta state and resides
in, Okwa, Asaba Nigeria.

4. Edirin has lived in London for over seven years. He has been granted indefinite leave to
remain in the United Kingdom. Up until he was taken to Nigeria in July 2010 his home was in
Newham London. He studied for his GCSEs at a local school and had recently arranged to
transfer to B6 College Hackney to study Business and Media with a view to developing a
career in business management here in the UK.

5. During the summer of 2010 Edirin approached an organisation which assists young people.
They provided him with practical and emotional assistance as Edirin was fearful that he
would be removed from his home and taken to Nigeria.

6. The organisation also assisted him in obtaining a Forced Marriage Protection Order from the
Principal Registry of the Family Division on 8 July 2010 as EDIRIN feared he may be taken to
Nigeria and forced to marry against his will.

7. Edirin last attended school on 12 July 2010. He was removed by his mother and taken to
Nigeria against his will on or about 16 July 2010. Mother denies this. His mother
subsequently returned to the United Kingdom on 16 October 2010 leaving Edirin in Nigeria.

8. The organisation through their links in Nigeria was able to arrange for Edirin to be placed in a
"safe house" between 29 August 2010 and 6 September 2010. During this period he was
able to telephone the organisation and reported that;

    * a. He had been subjected to quasi religious ceremonies or exorcisms to purge him of
    * his resistance to getting married.
    * b. He does not wish to get married.
    * c. He wished to return "home" to the United Kingdom.
    * d. That he had been beaten by various members of his family.

9. On 6 September 2010 his whereabouts were discovered by his family. The family with the
assistance of the police placed him with a family member. He was then placed in a boarding
school – The Life Forte International School.

10. The mother arranged for Edirin to swear an affidavit asking for the court proceedings in
London to be stopped. The court and various professionals have also received documents
reportedly from Edirin asking for the court proceedings to be discontinued and recording
that he is content to remain in Nigeria. The mother also produced a DVD recording in which
Edirin can be seen asking for the English court proceedings to be stopped.

11. The organisation is worried that the affidavit, letters, DVD and the telephone calls may not
accurately reflect his wishes and feelings and were not freely made.

12. Edirin's case before the Family Division in London has been conducted by Ms Anne-Marie
Hutchinson OBE of Dawson Cornwell solicitors acting as his legal next friend. In proceedings
before the Federal High Court Abuja in Nigeria his case has been conducted by a senior
human rights lawyer Carol Ajie C.N AJIE & CO.

13. As a consequence of cooperation between the English and Nigerian lawyers and of the
Nigerian High Court Edirin was collected from Life Forte International boarding school in
Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria, which his mother had placed him in on Sunday 30 January 2011.
He was transported to an hotel where he stayed on Sunday night.

14. During the course of Sunday he was able to telephone Anne-Marie Hutchinson and told her
how happy he was that he would be returning to London on Tuesday. He subsequently emailed
her expressing his thanks.

15. On Monday, 31 January 2011 Edirin was provided with the necessary emergency travel
documents to allow him to travel home to England. His passport had been taken from him
by a family member, and despite court orders, his aunt refuses to return it to him.

16. On Tuesday, 1 February 2011 Edirin went to Abuja airport to board a British Airways flight to
London scheduled to depart 10 AM Nigerian time. He went through passport control and
was about to board the plane when he was arrested by immigration officials. It is not clear
why he was detained but he was prevented from leaving Nigeria.

17. The Nigerian press reported his arrest and subsequent detention.

18. The High Court sitting in London has indicated that on the evidence presented to it that;

    * a. Edirin was habitually resident in England before his removal and remains so
    * b. his removal from England was contrary to the Forced Marriage Protection Order
    * made on 8.7.10
    * c. Edirin is at significant risk whilst in Nigeria and requires the taking of immediate
    * steps to protect his current position and secure his immediate return to England
    * d. Edirin’s welfare and best interests would be best served by him being returned to
    * England forthwith

19. The court has made orders directing Lydia Erhire and John IDOGUN to return EDIRIN to
England immediately. These orders have been registered in the Federal High Court Holden at
Abuja Nigeria on 3 December 2010.

20. On 3 February 2011 the court found that Lydia Erhire was in breach of a High Court Order
but adjourned sentencing until February 14th 2011. She was directed to sign various
documents to assist in the repatriation of Edirin from Nigeria by midday on 4 February. She
was warned that if she did not co-operate a bench warrant would be issued for her
immediate arrest.

21. The mother failed to sign the documentation. On 4 February seeking a bench warrant
seeking her arrest which was granted but suspended until 5.30 pm that same day to give
mother a further chance to comply with the court’s order.

22. The mother attended the committal hearing listed 14th February 2011 at the Royal Courts of
Justice. She was sentenced to serve an 8 month custodial sentence at Holloway Prison and is
the first person in the UK to be jailed for breaking laws on forced marriage. Several members
of the same Urhobo tribe as Edirin were present at the hearing, which was held in open
court. Mrs Justice Macur said, in sentencing Lydia Erhire, that Erhire had lied and that she
was not satisfied that she was “truly remorseful for the imperilment of Edirin’s welfare”.

23. Edirin’s solicitor Anne-Marie Hutchinson has said as follows: “I am extremely anxious about
Edirin’s welfare. He said that he has been beaten and has been subjected to procedures
which aim to exorcise him of his disobedience to his parents in terms of his desire not to be
married. He has told me that he wants to return ‘home’ to England. I do not know where he
is. After all that has happened I could not be satisfied that any telephone call or written
communication from him represents his true wishes and that he is able to communicate
freely. He must now return to England so that he can speak to the court directly.”

24. Anyone with information in respect of the whereabouts or wellbeing of Edirin Onojeta-
Idogun, or information that could assist the court in this matter is requested to contact
Anne-Marie Hutchinson of Dawson Cornwell Solicitors at 15 Red Lion Square, London WC1R
4QT (Tel: 0207 242 2556).

http://thewillnigeria.com/general/3417-UPDATED-How-Police-Nabbed-Kidnappers-Who-Raped--Year-Old-Benin.html

How Police Nabbed Kidnappers Who Raped a 19-Year Old In Benin

San Francisco (THEWILL) – In what has been described as one of the most despicable acts in modern Nigeria, the Edo State Police Command said it arrested an alleged top kidnapper operating in Benin City, Edo State, Mr. Henry Okonofua and his mistress, Iriagbonse Osunde aka Iri with two other men for kidnapping, gang raping and sexually assaulting a 19-year old girl in the ancient city.

Edo police spokesman, Mr. Peter Ogboi told THEWILL in a conference call that sometime in October 2009, a 19-year-old female, who was a friend of Iriagbonse was lured to an isolated location by her after she had arranged with four other persons to abduct her. After the abduction, the victim was driven to a house belonging to Henry Okonofua in the Ugbor area, GRA in Benin City.

At the house which Okonofua was said to have rented from a staff of Zenith Bank Plc who works in one of the braches in Benin, she was blind folded with plasters, confined to a room, chained to a burglary bar by the window, gang raped and sexually assaulted by her captives including one Mr. White who the police say they are still trying to apprehend. The victim whose name we will not mention was held captive for 50 days.

The Kidnappers were reported to have agreed to a N3.2 million naira ransom and N75, 000 worth of mobile phone recharge cards from her parents to secure her release, but failed to let her go even after the ransom was paid. A source told THEWILL they were uncomfortable releasing her because they feared she might have recognized their voices especially that of Iriagbonse.

Henry Okonofua was said to have suggested the unthinkable, execute her and dispose off her body but Iriagbonse thought that would be too cruel. They agreed that the best way for her to die would be to deprive her of food and water. For three weeks they cut off food and water supply to their traumatized victim, who was also not allowed to bath or have a change of clothing through out the period of her captivity.

The victim got a break on a weekend about three weeks ago when Okonofua and his group went clubbing and didn’t return until the wee hours of the morning. She was said to have pulled the metal burglary from the wall and crawled to the apartment of another resident in the compound. The resident was said to have been in shock and called the police to the scene.

Okonofua and his gang were also said to have walked right into the arms of the cops when they returned apparently drunk from their night out. Police detectives immediately took them into custody with other residents of the compound. We learnt that the police have since released other tenants after it determined that they had no hand in the crime.

THEWILL investigations revealed that Okonofua, popularly called “Chairman” by his friends because of his bizarre spending habit does not fit the profile of a kidnapper. He is described by people who know him as a fun loving 1993 dropout of Diploma in Social Works degree programme at the University of Benin. He is reported to have married Amuel Aideyan sometime between 2000/2001 in a traditional wedding ceremony at the Ekenwan area residence of Amuel’s family home.

Amuel was said to have moved out of their matrimonial home with their four kids (three daughters and a son) after series of domestic abuse and harassment by both Okonofua and Iriagbonse. Okonofua was reported to have told Amuel to accept Iri as his concubine or move out of their home. She chose the later.

THEWILL investigations also showed that Okonofua and Iri started their affair in their secondary school days when Okonofua was a student of Word of Faith Secondary School owned by the Late Bishop Benson Idahosa’s family, and Iri was a student at Greater Tomorrow School also in Benin. They some how succeeded in keeping it alive all these years.

Investigations also revealed that Okonofua is a cultist and an influential member of the Confraternity. He is the first of four children of his parents who also live in Benin. When often asked his source of income, he would say he runs an automobile dealership.

People who are familiar with his exploits say he spends about three hundred to four hundred thousand naira (N300, 000-N400, 000) a night when he parties with his mistress in Benin.

THEWILL checks also revealed that Iri who used to live in London relocated to Nigeria after the UK police tried to question her over certain criminal offences.

Mr. Ogboi said the alleged kidnappers are still in police custody and will be charged for various felonies including unlawful detention, abduction, assault and rape.

Since the arrests the number of kidnap cases in Benin is said to have reduced drastically.

He says the solar is the photovoltaic type. Naijafresh's recommendations
2.5 KVA won't power a one room apartment. Solar is for the reach only. From an eco friendly point its idea, but it never repays its investment. The initial cost for a 4 bed house well be in excess of £40,000.

PoliticsBafarawa Don Dey Lie Again by doe(op): 2:20pm On Oct 31, 2006
Na so all these governors dey lie?

http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/guest-articles/bafarawa-a-thief-and-liar.html

A thief and liar in our mist

I recently went on the elendureports website and came across a suppose advertorial. It was a rebuttal of a story carried by the daily trust of 16th October 2006. The story centre on the allegation of false declaration by the Sokoto state governor, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa. The source of the papers story was the Joint Task Force on Fighting Corruption report.

9 Radnor Place

It is alleged the governor bought 2 duplexes after he became governor and also acquired a property in an exclusive area of London.

I cannot comment on the duplexes in Nigeria, but Mr Bafarawa seem told have told a fat lie with regards to the purchase of his London residence. The original story carried by Elendureports and various Nigeria papers in 2005 alleged no 9 Radnor place, W2 2TF was purchased for £795,000(#200,000,000). Now it seems Mr Bafarawa is claiming the property only cost £295,000 (#60,000,000). Has he conveniently forgotten he also paid for the leasehold in June 2000?

Radnor place is part of the Hyde Park estate owned mainly by the Church of England. It’s an exclusive neighbourhood on the edge of Bayswater, next to the Edgware road. Ex Governor DSP Alamieyeseigha residence @ Water Garden where he was arrested is only a 2 minute walk away.

In the governors own words “For record purpose, it may interest the Chairman to note that, I bought this house from one Alhaji Sidi Mamman Asarakawa an indigene of Sokoto State who is still alive at the cost of Sixty Million Naira (N60,000,000.00) and NOT Two Hundred Million Naira (N200,000,000.00) as alleged in the Joint Task Force Report. I got this money from the sale of my House at Aso Drive, Abuja to the Federal Government through General Aliyu Muhammad former National Security Adviser at the cost of One Hundred Million Naira (N100,000,000.00).”

Well, Mr Bafarawa, the land registry records in the UK clearly states otherwise. According to registry document NGF41943, Bafarawa bought the leasehold to 9 Radnor place in June 2000 for £500,000(#126,000,000). This is exactly 13 months after he became governor. The freehold for properties on the Hyde Park estate belongs to the Church of England. All affairs of the church are handled by the church commissioners.

Then in May 2004, according to registry document NGL836183, the governor proceed to buy freehold from the church commissioners for £295,000(#74,340,000). The 4 floor, 5 bed property cost £795,000(#200,340,000. Exchange rate @ 252-1). Today, the property is worth over £3m.

All these transaction were paid for in cash. Now Mr Bafarawa claim to have paid for the house from the proceeds of the sale of is Abuja residence. This can’t be true as the London home cost more than twice the Abuja home.

I hope the Chairman of the code of conduct bureau take Governor Bafarawa’s reply for what it is. RUBBISH. I dare Mr Bafarawa to deny paying £800,000(#200,000,000) for the property and I will publish the full registry document in its entirety.
