This is why Egypt has a fortified border with Gaza and does not allow Palestinians to freely access Egypt.

The US is also the only country on earth that can fight and sustain two theatres of war at the same time - the pacific and the atlantic. No other country can do that.

The US airforce, navy and marines are the worlds largest 1st, 2nd and 3rd airforces. No other country comes close. The US exists for war. That country has been at war for 238 years out of its over 250 years of existence.

Russia was thought to be a near equal peer to the US. But years of corruption has hollowed out its armed forces. During the initial invasion of Ukraine, it was found that russian soldiers were selling fuel for their tanks to buy vodka and were getting high off fuel meant for fighter jets. Its flagship the Moskova failed a grave number of safety and serviceability tests. Monies meant for maintenance got eaten. The ship was so underpowered, its radar systems were shut off and Ukraine took advantage and sunk the ship. 400 men died.

On paper, Putin has an army. But in reality it is a shell. Corruption has affected it. Which is why he sacked his chief of defence and put an economist in that position.

Russia wants a ceasefire in Ukraine so that it can use that opportunity to rearm and restrategize. Putin will not leave Ukraine alone. He needs the US diverted and unfocused however. Which is why he has met with president Xi of china, Kim of north korea, representatives of the Iranian government and the leadership of Hamas.

China is positioning to attack Taiwan, North Korea is sending balloons filled with shit to South Korea to provoke a response and Iran, through hezbollah and hamas, is indirectly attacking Israel. Taiwan, South Korea and Israel are allies of the US with binding defense pacts. If they get attacked, the US must respond thus diverting attention from Ukraine.

I think Putin is the most strategic leader in the world right now. He is singularly determining global politics. It is unfortunate though that the Russian army is an embarrassment.

The students are given the option of going to the warfront or being deported. Most choose to go to the front. Russia however, doesn't tell them how bad the situation is in the front and once they are there, there's no turning back. There are Russian soldiers at the back instructed to shoot anyone who tries escaping.

Last week, Russia lost over 1200 men in just one day. Putin himself recently let it slip that they were having up to 10,000 casualties every month.

The truth however is this. Russia, formerly the second strongest military on earth has been exposed to be a paper giant. It is 3 years and counting. Russia still hasn't achieved anything of significance in its invasion of Ukraine.

Russia lost most of its flagline ships including the Moskova, to Ukraine. A country with no navy. Russia has lost over 500 tanks, had well over 450k casualties in Ukraine, cannot conduct air support for its troops anymore because they've lost close to a thousand airborne platforms already.

The situation is that desperate for Russia that it depending on north korea, china and iran for weapons. Russia cleared its prisons and sent those men to the battle front. All to no effect.

Putin was threatening to use nukes in Ukraine but through back channels, NATO warned him that if he does, every russian in unkraine is dead meat. He has backed off.

Russias vaunted Su-57 was destroyed right inside russia. Ukraine has been attacking several locations inside Russia with drones. Russias air defenses couldn't prevent any of that.

There's a video on reddit where russians were seen attacking and killing fellow russians in trenches. Why? Russians are dressing like Ukrainians on the field of battle.

For crying out loud, Russia took several body burning(cremation) machines into Ukraine to burn its dead so that compensation wont be paid to families of dead soldiers. These days however, Russia leaves her death to rot on the field.

I totally agree with you. I made a post regarding the killing of soldiers in Aba. We all know Ipob is responsible. However in my post, nairaland was changing every mention of Ipob to IGBO.

First I thought it was an error on my part and corrected it. I was shocked to find that everywhere I put Ipob, Igbo was used to replace it.

From my attachment below, you will see where I underlined red. I had to be creative to keep IPOB there because nairaland kept changing it to IGBO.

This is a clear case of nairaland trying to gin up opposition against the Igbo. I do not like what I'm seeing. This site should not allow itself be used as a tool to create bad blood.
