This useless russian troll. Take your garbage posts elsewhere. Your air defence systems keeps shooting down your own planes right inside russia itself. No one is buying the rubbish you keep posting here. |
It is sad that this post has to be made in the politics section of nairaland. This site is the 4th most visited site in Nigeria. Surely, a section celebrating our men and women in uniform, should exist. But it doesn't. Globally, it is a forgone conclusion that armies are only capable if air cover is sound. Russia is in a mess in Ukraine because the Russian airforce lacks the capability to provide air cover to troops on the ground. Here's a shocking fact. The 3 topmost air forces in the world are: 1. The US Airforce 2. US Navy 3. US Marines. The Airforce/air cover is the root of US military dominance globally. That's why the US remains the only country on Earth that can fight in two global theatres (atlantic/pacific) at the same time. No other country on Earth can do that. It is said that the US doesn't have a fighting force. Rather, it has the largest logistics apparatus on Earth. Logistics wins wars. Hitler found out the hard way. How does this relate to Nigeria's war on terror and the seeming incapability of our airforce? Now, the cheapest bomb on any of our flight capable fighter jets costs over 3000usd. The smart bombs the NAF uses, costs over 15000usd at a minimum. These are conservative estimates. The Nigerian airforce is practically doing magic as it is, keeping her numerous platforms operational. The cheapest of these platforms cost over a million per flight hour. If the Nigerian airforce should be fully funded, other arms will suffer. Other sectors will suffer. 3 billion dollars will barely take our airforce anywhere! The government knows this. The alternative is to do what Russia does. Pushing men and officers to the front without cover and exposing them to needless deaths. Our armed forces are capable but they are nothing without air cover. That cover is very expensive. |
CuriousCart:She was a helicopter pilot. Her death was totally not in the line of duty. An idiot reversing his vehicle without looking so his rear view mirror, crushed her to death. She was phenomenal. Not too many helicopter pilots could handle the Russian made MI-35p on which she was certified for. Nigeria lost a great pilot in her. |
This post is in response to this: https://www.nairaland.com/8079196/chengdu-f-7ni-nigerias-fastest-fighter Ordinarily, one should be excited that one of the platforms of the Nigerian airforce is being celebrated on the front page. The Nigerian airforce in my estimation, are very professional and under-celebrated in what they do. They don't mind however, so long as the job gets done. The NAF has a number of platforms. And anyone who truly knows about them, will regard the post which link I posted above, to be an insult to the officers of the Nigerian airforce, who have lost thier lives using the f7ni chengdu. I will not go into details of how Nigeria even bought these Chinese made Jets in the first place. I do know for a fact that we bought 12 and less than 7 are currently operational. The NAF has lost well trained officers due to this platform. The chengdu has been and is still a distaster. The international community calls it the 'widow-maker'. Nigeria never planned to buy these jets. And we wouldn't if Yar'Adua hadn't died. Jonathan signed off on their purchase without understanding the purpose of having fighter aircraft. The F7Ni Chengdu is well over 25 years. Its capabilities or lack thereof aren't things worth talking about at the moment. The fighter jet however, has no business on nairaland frontpage. |

Is this not the clown that has a case with the EFCC? The same clown and his son had cases to answer. Let him shut up! |
They are stupid. We are not fools. Anticipating potential price decreases from Dangote, these bastards are refusing to go and load from NNPC and even NNPC has refused importing for a while now. They know that Dangote will sell lower so they don't want to buy petrol at current prices. Someone inside Dangote has told them the intended price dangote wants to sell. It is far lower than what is on the market already. That's why they don't want to stock. They don't want to lose. |
Hunger is loading. While I'm not into chicken, I'm into hatching and raising of catfish. Everything has shot up the roof! Price of feed is no more sustainable. Hatching catfish fingerlings can be hit or miss even with the most delligent of efforts. Imagine spending close to 600k and everything dies at 5 weeks due to bacterial infection outbreak. It isn't easy. How will Nigerians meet protein needs going forward? Beef, goat meat, fish, eggs and chicken have become so expensive. Is this country cursed? |
Khallicopyro:E tire me |
Everyone in Nigeria is a thief! |
Character deficiency. Simple. No man who is sane will adopt such an extreme measure except the wife has a terrible character. If the man's family even went along with the plan then you know say the wife really messed up. |
Which side for nasarawa? I dey there with my cylinder now like this. |
Validated:there are over 5 toll points on the road |
Class, this why environment and safety is important. Confined spaces like soakaways actually are full of very deadly gasses that can render most people unconscious and dead in a few minutes. You read above that a number of them were unconscious. Yes, that's the result of deadly gas in a very low oxygen environment. Such deadly gases in soakaways include ammonia and hydrogen sulfide. Not to talk of methane and carbon monoxide. Ofcourse there will be nitrogen oxide which will replace oxygen in your blood at the slightest chance and you are dead in less than 90 seconds. You won't even know something is happening to you. A terrible way to go. Any enclosed or confined space is at risk to contain any of these gases. Lets be careful out there. |
Mtn dealt with us that time. Imagine useless sim card that no one will even pick from the ground now. I bought mine that time for 68k. Long before then some bought sim card at 200k. Then you will buy recharge card and still buy booster on top! Booster was 3k upward o! MTN una be thief! What the hell was booster? MTN said per second billing was impossible. It was glo that came and they had to sit up. MTN has made money from this country walahi. |
It is not news anymore that the fulani have laid siege on communities in the middle belt. They have been emboldened enough that they invade peaceful communities, kill, maim, set houses and farm produce ablaze, displace the inhabitants of those communities and then rename them to fulani communities just like they have done in Plateau state(over 27 communities dislodged and renamed). It is also not news that till date, not one single fulani attacker has been apprehended or neutralized by the security agencies. The government, making light of the whole thing, calls it farmer/herder clashes. This is very far from the truth. The fulani are hell bent on claiming lands all over Nigeria and establishing their kit and kin from all across west africa. They will keep killing until they achieve their aims. The government has no will to stop them. The solution? Communities and peoples that are under attack must begin to put money together to acquire arms and ammunition. Until the fulani see equal force, until their settlements are equally attacked, this carnage won't end. Communities must begin to arm themselves! What's the point of waiting on a government that has failed in this matter for over 15 years? The fulani are rated the 4th deadliest terror group on Earth. And no measures are being adopted against them? Enough is enough! We cannot keep sugar-coating this. Every tribe in Nigeria affected has to rise up against these people who have chosen not to co-exist peacefully. |
Comeback? I just hope Cardoso isn't just putting millions on a pig. As much as the pressure on the naira seems to be easing. We must bear in mind that systemic shocks are still very much hanging around. Currently, Nigeria has over 14 crude oil cargoes in the international market without buyers. Preference for our crude has dropped. That is not only the issue. Crude oil volumes have dropped beyond what they used be for reasons that aren't immediately clear. The elephant in the room remains that except we curb our undue appetite for imports, our currency will always be under pressure. We need to have a competitive economy where exports are the main focus. A good number of the firms whose products we import, should be encouraged to open factories here. The major unspoken threat to the stability of the naira is our thieving ruling class who embezzle billions and then seek to convert them to naira. This is where the main pressure from the naira comes from. As 2027 approaches, expect to see the naira come under pressure again. Lets enjoy this respite while it lasts. |
How much money does a man really need. Before he became governor, Bello was very wealthy. I know for a fact that his house in Abuja, when the decor was being done, curtains worth over 45 million naira were imported from Saudi Arabia and this was around 2012 or thereabout. When he launched his transport company, FairPlus, he bought brand new hummer buses numbering over 40 and not CKD. Though he employed his igbira people mainly and they ran the company to the ground. Bello was doing well for himself as a young man. Even though he had always had an arrogant streak in him. It is pretty unfortunate that he has allowed the matter to get to this point. Anyways, he is a smart man and I know he is already making background overtures to the people in charge of this country to give him a soft landing. But he could have done better for Kogi state. |
She went to get a good dose of Buramacin or is it peniscillin? |
Very ugly thing on top. |
On colos! |
