Dear Lilsameey,

Cats are super clean and alert. I'd advise you to change your litter to self clumping litter and of course to throw away the clumps at least twice a day. Regarding her 'derriere' being a little soiled after going to the toilet. Was she like this before her accident? How long ago did the accident occur? Which part of her body got hit by the heavy door? Is she still as 'balanced' as before? Can she still climb and jump the way she did? or is she clumsy?

I would actually take her to a vet if she has lost her sense of balance

I have a kitten, she's a little bit independent at first but an accident happened of recent, someone unknowingly slammed a heavy door on the kitten, she started bleeding from her nose, had to give her CPR because she was going stiff, Luckily, she survived and she's been very clingy since then, I need an advice on the litter, she just poo with little to no attempt to bury it, and my mum's been complaining about the smell, how'd you solve that and limit a kitten's litter smell.
I attached a pics I took of her when she was injured.
Also in addition, her anus is always stained with poo after she does her thing, is this a normal thing for cats?

That's such a pity. I hope you're not planning to put him down? If chaining him is the problem, perhaps you can rehabilitate him by chaining him inside the house instead of chaining him outside? Get a vet to look at him; he may have issues with pain that are increasing his aggression. If that won't work, pls try to sell him to someone who lives alone or keeps dogs for breeding or security work. If you can't find a suitable buyer, and he is to be put down, pls ensure that he is put down in a very humane way, by a vet. Don't sell him to butchers who'll club him to death.

No we plan to find him a new family and the real condition is being able to visit him from time to time. I had a dog call Sasa, a beautiful mongrel, we gave him away when he was 4 years old and continued visiting him and his new family until he died at the age of 11. So I hope that, if we decide to give him away for adoption, we will all be able to do the same.

funny you should mention aggression linked to pain. The first sign of aggression came after his visit to the vet. According to his handler, the vet put a muzzle on him and with his assistant they dug deep into his ears. He had a smelly infection in his right ear, and the vets really handled him badly.. he was fearful and chocoblocked with painkillers and other drugs. It's only after he bit somebody quite badly that we phoned the vet to understand why he had changed...

The vet then told us : " yes it is a side effect. You must take him back to his home and prevent anybody from petting him... Sorry Ma..."

Anyway the damage has been done. The problem is, this happened under our noses and we took a few things from granted, such as assuming that the visit to the vet was ok and that the dog was his normal self. So imagine another scenario: baby at home, graduates from crawling to walking and under no supervision starts walking to the dogs' kennels...

I agree with you, will look into giving him away for adoption to somebody who breeds (he'll be quite happy about that one), or who has security dogs.

Why Mix the two The BOERBOEL is a new Breed. All those who know the hard work it took to get what they have called the Boerboel will feel very disappointed by your decision. Can't you borrow somebody's Boerboel and mate it with your dog? Why do this? Why deliberately mix it with a Bull mastiff? Is it simply to find out what might happen?

I read this some time ago and realised that I had not replied!!! real awful...
At this point in time, I hope that the ear infection has gone.
Anyway, when such symptoms are showing, I would recommend that you call a vet who 'cares' about his patients.
The very fact that he laughed it off and blamed your dogs ' lineage' ... what the HELL does that have ANYTHING to do with ANYTHING. It;s liek telling a mother oh, your child has bad teeth because it is in her blood... when you know that 2 days ago, your child had good teeth.


Anyway... I would highly recommend you call a vet that is always ready to move Heaven and Earth for your dog...
I HATE feeling powerless in such situations and having a vet give me such BS.

If you mistreat your dog, and he is afraid or insecure at that particular moment in time he might bite you.
If you mistreat your dog, and he is CHAINED while feeling afraid or insecure at that particular moment in time he WILL bite you.
It all depends on how you treat your dog, if you understand his nature and body language and if he is chained.

The more time your dogs spends chained, the more likely he is to bite. You've increased the probability by 300%
When you chain a dog, no matter our socialised he is, the chaining will little by little undo the training you gave him.
With a dog you constantly have to train him. In short, I have had a Rottweiler, also called Muffy, for the past 5 years.
Everything was ok, Muffy would spend time with the family in the sitting room, in the garden, on the balcony. He was always with US when we were at home. that means from 6pm till 7am. Muffy would sleep indoors while the other dog stayed outside.

Anyway... things changed dramatically when my grandmother moved into our house in April this year.
The house was OUT OF BOUNDARIES, Muffy was no longer allowed in. My grandmother also has so many house visits from her doctors, nurses and worried friends that Muffy had to be chained from morning to night with four 20 minute breaks.

The only good thing was that he was tied down with a 2.5metre tie-out chain and he could play with the other dog.

Anyway, Muffy is a different dog now and has started showing signs of aggression towards me, after having shown signs to everybody else.
It is time for us to part with him, because we now have a baby that is learning to walk, as well as an elderly lady in a wheelchair.
It is time for us to part with him, because we can no longer socialise him like before, our personal circumstances have drastically changed.

At a later date, we will get a replacement. It will still be a black dog, but it might be a black Labrador instead, they are easy to socialise and great with children or disabled adults. So the Dog Breed matters too!!

To protect your puppy, make it clear that the Pit bull is more important than the Caucasian. With dogs, action speaks louder than words. If you are still playing about with the puppy and holding the puppy in your arms and letting him jump on you. Your Pit bull will observe and feel that the puppy is dominating you and thus he will do what is necessary to prevent the puppy from acting in this way. So anything you do from now on, feeding, playing, etc, make sure you do it first with the pitbull and then later with the puppy. Make sure they have separate dog houses, food and water bowls and so on. In my personal opinion, I would encourage you to completely ignore the puppy (as in don' play with him) for a good 5 days. Instead play with the pitbull everyday. What they both need to understand and agree is that the PITBULL is the boss. If there is any doubt concerning this hierarchy, one of them will surely die. Right now the odds are completely AGAINST your caucasian, unless he has access to Obelisk's Magic Potion!

That being said, if the two fought and your puppy is still not as bright as before. My first questions to you: Is he still eating? what is his body language like? After a fight, it is possible to sustain internal wounds... which could eventually kill him. So please rule out the possibility that your much loved puppy is suffering from internal wounds.
