Watch how he covered the phone with newspaper |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zr8whEJflA4 A man (the thief) walks into the reception carrying a backpack. He gave one of the staff a portion of the newspaper to typeset for him. He initiates a fake call and proceeded to cast shadows on the other staff so that he can steal his phone. When the thief noticed that the staff is concentrating on his laptop, he covers the phone laying on the staff's desk with papers and proceeded to distract attentions of other staff. When he became so sure that no one is watching, he took the newspaper and the phone away. If you know this person in this video or have any information that will lead to recovery of the phone, your assistance will be highly appreciated. Disclaimer: I hope you learn and be watchful all the time. This video is meant to prevent crime and not to encourage crime. |
The likely scenario that played out... 1) CBN announced termination of FX sales to BDC operators 2)Customers that usually patronize BDC comes to get FX. 3)BDC sold the few remaining FX and probably withheld some... 4)Customers could not get enough FX and runs to bank. 5) Bank like always direct smaller customers to BDC, while waiting for "Bigger Customers"... 6) Back to BDC, the demand is becoming two much and you know what they say about demand and supply. 7) BDC decides to cash out... and boom the exchange rate climbed to N522/1$ in just few hours... CBN will likely make changes to this policy in coming days or weeks. CBN is going to allow only selected BDC operators with certain capital or coverage. (This was the initial intention, if you know, you know)... |
Naira drops by 3.37% to exchange at N522 /1$ at the black market As at 10:30AM today 28/07/2021, the Naira to dollar exchange rate was N505 /1$. The current time is 3:50PM and the current exchange rate at the black market is 522/1$; So if you have exchanged $1,000,000 at rate of N505/$1 in the morning. You will get N505, 000,000. If you waited for another 6hours, you would have gotten extra N17, 000,000. Source https://www.ngnrates.com/ |
First step to a new Nigeria is integration of comprehensive data system. We need to have a database of all the houses, streets in Nigeria, by town, local government and state. Every house in the country will have street number (HN, House Number), state wide identity (HID, House ID), and nationwide ID (NHID, National House ID). All streets within a village/town will be registered with latitude and longitude numbers, full names, details, State ID number of the street etc. All villages/town within a local government will be registered with trackable location information, unique IDs and many other details. All local government within a state will also be registered in full details, map location, unique IDs. All States, including FCT will also be registered with unique ID, map, location information, etc When all the houses, streets, local governments and states are captured in the data system, we will proceed to capture data of citizens. (The current BVN, NIN etc do not have solid bedrock since there is no data structure for the address system). When all citizens data are captured in the system, and data mining station setup for each citizen, for continuous update of the personal data then we can see the importance of living in a data drive society. Why is Citizen Identification and Data System (CIDS) important? Government: Government will have accurate data of her citizens and will be able to make informed decisions. e.g If government know that in the year, 2022, five thousand (5000) new Doctors will be graduating from medical school. Government can look at the demands for doctors and see if there is need to advertise and encourage more citizens to study medicine. This applies to other fields of study. Banking: Security of customers is very important and having accurate data of the customers will solve most of the security issues in the banking sector. Banks will require less information from customers in other to open and operate any kind of account. All they will require is your national ID (NID) number. No more nepa bill, NYSC certificate, 2 referrers etc. This will save cost and enable full automation of the banking system. Education: Apart from helping students make informed decision regarding their course of study, it will also create learning enthusiasm. The literacy level will increase because a lot of pressure will be on the illiterates and they will want to learn. It will also create awareness on the importance of information technology. Ecommerce: Growth In ecommerce will skyrocket. It will be very easy to identify buyers and the fear of fake or fraudulent purchase will be almost none existent. Many logistics company will be born and their services will be very precise. Job opportunities in ecommerce and logistics companies will be in several thousand, if not => millions. Insurance Companies: Many digital insurance companies will spring up, allowing you to get access to services in emergency situations. E.g you travelled to another state, but do to certain circumstance, you are not with your ATM card or other means of payment. You can still make purchases and other services without cash because your digital insurance company already know your risk ratio. Personal life: The opportunities will be endless. Improved security and standard of living across the board. The positive impact of this system will change the value system in Nigeria. It will positively impact our relationship with other countries and multinational companies. The importance is too numerous to mention… |
If you are familiar with the book, 48 laws of power, by Robert Greene, then you already know which law states the above. In the social network these days, “Court attention at all cost” is paramount. Almost everyone on social media wants attention and can do anything just to make headline…. The “Catch attention at all cost” enthusiast forgets about the other law that says “Guard your reputation, so much depends on it". Although some of the law contradicts each other, it is better to know which situation requires the knowledge of a particular law…. In a bid to court attention at all cost you may lose your reputation. Who else notice these trends …. |

I enjoy adding businesses on Google map. I’m also a registered “Local Guide”. I want to make out time maybe 2-4 times every month to add local businesses on the map. I will just driver to business location, store, office, hotel etc. Talk to the owner/attendant and take pictures and add the location on the map. The few I have done in the past, I did it without informing the owners, just after using their service. I took pictures and uploaded. This time, I want to talk to the owner, ask few questions about the business before posting. I want to gather opinion on how business owners will see this. I hope they will not think I have other motives. Note: They are not to pay anything to me ooh. It is my little contribution to local businesses and it is fun too at my leisure… What do you think?

My calculation that made me think it is not beneficial to ordinary citizens…. If you receive foreign payment via services like Moneygram, Western Union, Transferwise etc. you will get 374/$ rate. When you want to convert the Naira back to Dollar in order to make purchases or pay for services you will not be eligible to get at $374/$ from the bank but 458/$ from BDC; 458 – 374 = 84. At this time you have shortchanged. If it happens to be a $1,000 dollar transaction, then you have N84,000 less on your wallet....

I’m not an economist and it is very hard for me to understand why a country will operate a multiple exchange rate system for same currency. I hope the economist in the house will help answer questions about this …. |
If you look at the exchange rate today, you will find out that the rate of Naira to other popular currencies is not same for all exchange channels. My Questions about multiple exchange rate system 1)Have this model been used by any other country /political system at a time and what was the outcome. 2) Is it beneficial to the economy at this time?
