TravelAmazing! Man Meets His Exact Lookalike On A Plane (photos) by domchido1(op): 8:16am On Oct 31, 2015
A bearded traveller was shocked to discover his not biological but identical twin on a Ryanair flight after he discovered the stranger sat in his seat.

Neil Douglas was on a flight from Stansted to Shannon Airport, County Clare, on Thursday evening when he met Robert Stirling, from London.

Speaking to MailOnline, Mr Douglas said:

'I asked him to move and when the guy looked up, I thought: "Holy s***, he looks like me. We had a big laugh about it – everyone had a laugh. We took a selfie and that was it.

'I later checked into my hotel in Galway to find my doppelganger checking into the same hotel ahead of me. Total weirdness.'
Mr Stirling, a 35-year-old civil servant from Redbridge, added:
'I had actually swapped my seat on the plane so that a couple could sit together.

The photograph which the two complete strangers took has already been shared nearly 2,000 times. It shows them looking strikingly similar due to their bushy ginger beards, smiles and hairstyles. They were even wearing similar black tops, later realised they were booked into the same Irish hotel and went for a drink.

PoliticsSenators That Asked The Best Questions During The Ministerial Screening by domchido1(op): 10:05pm On Oct 30, 2015
The ministerial screening of President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominees for his cabinet has come and gone, but the memories of the widely televised event will linger on for a while.

The screening process which was characterised by drama, controversies, politicking, lobbying and protests gave Nigerians the opportunity to see first-hand how their various representatives are carrying out their duties in the upper chamber.

1. Senator Bukola Saraki (Kwara): The Senate president didn’t fail to contribute during the exercise which is commendable. Most of his questions were directed at the nominees the Senate gave special preference to (mostly former federal lawmakers) who even though they were asked to ‘bow and go’ were still subjected to questioning by the Senate president himself. Perharps, Saraki was aware that some Nigerians frowned at the ‘bow and go’ syndrome and made personal efforts to correct it.

2. Senator Ike Ekweremadu (Enugu): It is not for nothing that Ekweremadu is occupying the position of deputy Senate president for the third time in a row. His questions showed how experienced he is and how his long stay in the upper chamber has helped to make him a complete senator.

3, Senator George Akume (Benue): A two-term governor of the food basket of the nation, Benue, and a third-term senator, Akume has seen it all. And so when he asks questions, they are very deep and borne out of an experienced politician who has been in the executive and in the legislature.

4. Senator Biodun Olujimi (Ekiti): You can’t be a former deputy to Governor Ayo Fayose and not be smart. Olujimi is a woman that stands tall among her peers. The fact she is the only woman on the list says a lot about her personality. To cap it all, she is a first-term senator. The nominees she asked questions will no doubt remember her for unsettling them with her piercing questions.

5. Senator Gbenga Ashafa (Lagos): If there is any politician who disregards his political background when asking questions, then Ashafa is the one. His question to Ekiti state former governor, Kayode Fayemi, about his time in office as a chief executive, shows that Ashafa despite being a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is a well-groomed politician.

6. Senator Ali Ndume (Borno): When you are the Senate Leader, it shows that there is something extraordinary about you. Senator Ndume’s questions were very apt, direct, incisive and indeed filled with experience. The Borno lawmaker has no doubt justified his position in the red chamber.

WebmastersRe: Top 25 People On Nairaland This 2015 by domchido1: 9:34pm On Oct 20, 2015
eyenibibio:
I have been using NL as a frequent source of news and entertainment and during my course of being here, I have noticed there are a group or set of people with predictable, repetitive characteristics and trends. Join me as I examine the top 25 people you'll find on NL this 2015 and see which one you can identify with.

1. TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY, DASH ME LIKES CREW: These group of people are the happy go lucky individuals who seize every opportunity to outsource for likes. It seems the likes make them happy or fulfilled every time it's rammed up in the numbers. Some even have their birthdays every month nowadays on NL, jas so that they can get likes. God is watching you.

2. CAME HERE TO CHECK NAMES CREW: I don't know what NL is turning to these days or what our Yoruba and Igbo brothers have turned NL to so much so that there is no news that has a negative content where they won't turn it into a tribal war. Same goes for positive news about innovations, 1st class degrees etc. This is becoming a big demon and we must do something about it. We just can't continue to live like this. First, this crew was jas for the fun of it, but it has turned to something else as they now have a national association. lol....God will help us.

3. PICTURE/THREAD DERAILERS: This ogas/madams at the top are well versed in the act of derailing the thread away from the topic it was meant to cover. They have so improved their skill that they can totally veer off other people from making meaningful contribution to the thread especially if it was in the romance section. As for the picture derailers, God is watching you and your memory card in HD.

4. FIRST TO COMMENT HUSTLERS: These group of handsome guys and ladies have dedicated their lives to be the first to comment on any thread on the hopes that it will get to front page eventually. Most go to Nepa office, plug their phone and hustle for FTC on any new thread. For the newcomers who want to be FTC, they will have to go against already established wall street giants like INTROVERT and Lady F who for some time seem to be AWOL. As Yungsix would say, 'God bless your hustle'.

5. SPACE BOOKERS: These great intelligent folks have recognized the immense benefit of creating a space for future modifying of comments cos at the moment, their brain is not picking. Usually, they will analyze comments of others and then edit their previous one letter or symbol comment to a more useful and sensible one. To all the space bookers in the house, your reward is in on the way.

6. 1000 POST BUT NEVER CREATED A TOPIC CREW: These great minds are trooping and increasing in numbers everyday as they can amazingly make over 1000 comments on threads here on NL but have vowed never to create a single thread or topic. I don't know if they don't want others to benefit from their wealth of experience. Please, if you're in this category, kindly change cos we need you here.

7. RIB CRACKING MONIKERS: These gentlemen especially cos I've noticed it's the male population on here that really specialises in this business. The business of creating monikers that are extremely funny and you will wonder how these folks can go to bed at night with all these. Example of such I've seen is 'USELESSGOAT', 'BUYGALA', 'HUNGERBAD', 'BADMEAT', 'FOWLYANSH' etc.

8. IMPERSONATORS: These folks are everywhere and they also decided to bring their trade to NL. I've noticed that most guys are in the habit of opening accounts and posing/posting like females, doing all sort of undo-able on here. Even the females too are not left out. I remember there was a time INTROVERT was accused of being a guy. I tell you till now I don't know if she is a guy or girl cos at a point she was also accused of being a machine. I leave your cases in Gods hand.

9. MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS/SAME USER CREW: These beautiful people will just start creating new accounts just to hide their identity not that their previous account was faulty or anything. Most do this when they want to ask a personal question and prolly their bae or boo is a NL user and they don't want to be seen or perceived in a particular way. Please, change your ways eh......and start keeping it real.

10. NEVER PUT THEIR REAL PIC ON THEIR DP BEFORE CREW: The koko is if you know that you belong to this crew or you're even affiliated, just kukumah go and put your real pic on there for once. We wana see your face ugly or beautiful.......we were all made in the image. And we're also tired of seeing those Tumblr pics you keep uploading. And for those who don't have any pic at all on your profile, please put up your pic, NL is as good as any big social network you might be using too.

11. FEMALE MONIKER CHECKERS: These guys were sent to earth and NL to be clicking on any moniker that has the symbol (f) in front of it in hopes of seeing one beautiful, lovely and gorgeous lady ready for romantic interactions. You see them struggling hard to set P and often end up being turned down. It's a social network bruh, so your doing your job......don't mind them, one day e go click!

12. CALL-TO-ACTION GROUP: These group of NL users have assumed the responsibility of calling the mods and supermods to action i.e moving the thread they deem is fit to front page. You normally see them with stuffs like 'Lala, do the needful' etc.

13. ONLY 1ST PAGE READERS: These grand patrons have vowed never to read past the first page of any thread on NL regardless of how informative or entertaining it might be. Please, always try and read other pages, something that could change your life could be found there.

14. CELEBRITY COPY CATS: These group of people will just wait for a thread that shows D'banj wearing some Louboutin shoes and then will post a picture of their shoe(s) and ask NL'ders to rate. Lol, pls garrarahia mehn.

15. IS THAT A SIGNATURE OR WAH?: These group of people have jas decided to misuse the signature feature on their profile. Sometimes, you find that a signature is even more than a comment in terms of word count. Please, go back to signature folks as the name implies.

16. THE LIST CREW: These group of folks can never open a thread w/o listing their points. You see something like '10 ways to do this', '20 things a guy must do....' blah blah blah. Ok, we have noticed you guys. Thumbs up!

17. PERPETUAL VISITORS: These ones have sworn by the oath never to sign up on NL. They will only come and read, laugh and enjoy themselves but will still continue as a visitor. When will you sign up, brah?

18. FRONT PAGE BOUND CREW: Oh yes, and there is not a single topic from these guys that will not hit front page, so always fcuks with them if you wanna hit FP. Few of em include Seun, Lalasticlala, Obinoscopy, Ishilove, Tosyne2much, TonyeBarcanista, Lagmoskuit etc.

19. SEUNIERS: These are the core fans of the creator of NL, Seun. The are always calling on him or blaming him for one thing or the other....or comparing him to someone etc. They won't just let him rest. Just like Biebers, they will blame Seun for any Tonto Dike thread that makes FP, even consoling him when Tonto got married. Last week, they also urged him to buy a house in banana island jas like Linda did. Lol, y'all where's ya chill?!!!

20. VASLINE CREW: This guys know themselves, they don't need much introduction. Their main aim on here is to find ladies, celebs with luscious body and then the rest..................is history!!!

21. MISSING-IN-ACTION CREW: These folks can rarely escape ban for more than 3 days. If after returning from a 2 or 3 weeks ban, they go right back to doing the things that will get them banned. Lol......receive sense o jare!

22. TOURIST: These set of people are a of a rare kind in the world and you only find them on NL. Their breed should be preserved to prevent extinction. How do you identify these people? On a thread, you will see them comment something like 'Here in France, we don't do that', 'We don't know about such a thing here in Maurituana'.

23. WAILERS: These thread would not have been complete if I didn't mention wailers. Although I'm oblivious as to why they chose to identify themselve in such an unpleasant way, I had to mention them cos they have a national association on here and sometimes you see something like 'proudly a wailer'. Oh Lord!!!

24. LOYALIST/ACTIVE USERS: I unreservedly fall under this category as I spend most of my internet time reading threads on NL. There are a thousand other users like me who engage actively on NL too through their threads, posts, etc. God bless y'all.

25. SPAMMERS: Oh!!! So, you thought I won't mention you abi?! My friend 'dakkada' and gerrarahia mehn. Why do you keep posting adverts etc unsolicited when Seun has provided a feature for that. Isnor fair o....... Menshealth212 and co, it's time y'all turn a new leaf, ok.......and GOD BLESS Y'ALL.

CrimePHOTO: Police Discover Massive Tunnel In Akure, where It Leads To Is Unbelievable by domchido1(op):
Men of the Ondo state Police command have discovered a strange tunnel in the state capital.

According to New Telegraph, the tunnel which was discovered led to the premises of an old generational bank in Akure.

When the tunnel was traced, it was noticed that work was still ongoing as it is meant to lead directly into the banking hall. The tunnel which can take three persons at a time conveniently is said to have been a planned work of armed robbers. It is said to have been done in order to make access to the bank very easy.

A security source said the gang that planned the robbery would have operated at the weekend when bankers would not be off work. The bankers would have resumed on Monday to discover that all the money in the vault had been carted away. The back of the fence is an isolated area which would have made the suspects operate undisturbed for hours.

Meanwhile, over fifty armed robbers also attacked Diamond and Access bank branches on 4th Avenue, Festac Town in Lagos on Tuesday, October 13

PoliticsAmaechi’s Fate Hangs As Senate Fails To Screen Him Again by domchido1(op): 4:24pm On Oct 14, 2015
Once again, the screening of Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers state, has been deferred.

The Senate failed to screen Amaechi today, October 14, due to the inability of the Simon Anyanwu-led committee on ethics and public petitions to submit its report on petitions against the former governor, Vanguard reports.

Senator Anyanwu informed the Senate President, Bukola Saraki that his committee’s report was still not ready to be submitted to the floor of the Senate.

“You will recall that the Committee on Ethics, Public Petitions and Privileges has been investigating Mr Rotimi Ameachi, a ministerial nominee from Rivers State. As I speak, the report is yet to be concluded,” he said.

Saraki ruled that Amaechi’s name be delisted from the Order Paper, while asking the committee to ensure its report was ready by tomorrow for subsequent treatment.

PoliticsEbola Hits Nigeria Again As 10 Are Quarantined In Calabar by domchido1(op): 9:02pm On Oct 08, 2015
SOURCE: http://www.unitednaija.com/2015/10/ebola-hits-nigeria-again-as-10-are-quarantined-in-calabar/

One year after Nigeria got certified free of the highly-contagious Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), there are fears that the virus has resurfaced in the country. Already, 15 persons have been quarantined at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital in Cross River state. Queeneth Kalu, chairperson of the hospital’s medical advisory committee, told reporters on Thursday that blood samples of those in quarantine had been sent to Edo state for analysis.

Kalu said a patient of the hospital died with symptoms of viral hemorrhagic fever. “On Wednesday, 7th October, 2015, we managed a patient who presented with symptoms mimicking viral hemorrhage (Ebola Virus) and have decided to take the necessary measures,” she said. “Due to the remote chance of it being contagious, we have sent the blood samples for testing and quarantined identified contacts. “The National Centre for Disease Control, the ministry of health, the state government and the Department of State Services, have all been informed. “Further information will be made available as soon as we receive the results of the samples sent for analysis.” Tope Richards, a resident of Calabar north, told media that only few persons in the town are aware of the situation. “We are trying to be very careful now. This kind of thing has never happened in this city,” she said. “I wouldn’t have been aware of this situation if not that I went to the teaching hospital yesterday. Even some people there are not aware. We are in the hands of God. I really don’t know what to say.” However, Sunday Omini, director of public health in the state ministry of health, said it was too early to reach a conclusion on a resurgence of the virus. “We are aware of the situation and we have got preliminary reports from the hospital, and we are all awaiting the result of the blood samples,” he told NAN. “We are on top of the situation, there is no cause for alarm but judging from the information I have received so far, I am 90 percent sure that it is not Ebola.” The development is coming at a time when the World Health Organisation (WHO) announced significant progress in the fight to stamp out EVD. Earlier on Thursday, Margaret Harris, WHO press officer, said for the first time since 2014, no new case of the virus had been recorded this week.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics and Public Petitions, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, who spoke with a Punch correspondent on Friday in Abuja said that the committee would send petitions to protest against President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial nominees on Tuesday once the list is presented to them.
He said as of Friday, no member of the public had formally submitted any petition against any of the ministerial nominees.
Sen Anyanwu said
“We have not been receiving petitions from members of the public obviously because the list of ministerial nominees has not been officially unveiled by the senate president.
“I think the petitions will start coming in as from next Tuesday after Nigerians would have known the nominees.”
Some members of Peoples Democratic Party-controlled states are also preparing to oppose the clearance of any All Progressives Congress member that would make the list from their states.

Some aggrieved members of the APC in some states were also said to have threatened to write petitions against any nominee that is not confirmed by the state chapter of the party as a member.

It was gathered that the Rivers State Government and the state chapter of the party had concluded plans to oppose a former governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi, if he was nominated.
It was learnt that the state government might instruct senators from the state to oppose Amaechi’s nomination.
But when contacted, the state government and the PDP said they would prefer to keep mum on the report that Amaechi’s name was on the ministerial list.
The Media Assistant to the State Governor, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, said the state government would take a position after the senate must have read out the list on Tuesday.
Nwakaudu explained that everything about the content of the ministerial list would be mere speculation until it is read out by the National Assembly.
He said: “Let the list be read first; if the list comes out, we will formerly take a position,”.
Similarly, the State PDP Deputy Publicity Secretary, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike, said the party would be thorough in its position on whether Amaechi’s name appeared on the list or not, but would have to wait until the Senate read out the list on Tuesday.
“When the Senate reads out the list, we will react. We are always thorough when we take a position on an issue. They said it is the Senate that will disclose the content of the list and that will be on Tuesday. We are waiting for them to do that,” Nwanosike added.
The Director of International Women Communication, Hajia Goroso Limota urged the senate to reject the list if it did not contain at least 35% of women.
