Jobs/Vacancies / The Real Reason Why You're Still Unemployed by dome777: 1:07pm On Sep 15, 2016
The rate of unemployment in Nigeria has increased significantly, jumping from 10.4 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2015 to 12.1 per cent in the first quarter of 2016. This is according to a recent report by the National Bureau of Statistics (N.B.S), which further states that there are about 70 million, educated, able bodied Nigerians currently looking for gainful employment.

There are many reasons why the unemployment rate keeps increasing in Nigeria every year. One of these reasons is the lack of 24/7 power supply.

Nigeria is literally the giant of Africa with over 200 million citizens and millions of registered businesses. With such a population, business should be thriving thereby creating more jobs, but the only drawback is the lack of constant power supply.

Many foreign, small and medium sized businesses in Nigeria have begun downsizing because of the high cost of running generators and electric plants. Companies still want to operate and make profit but with as little manpower as possible.

Another reason for the high unemployment rate in Nigeria is because of the low standard of education.

There are over 200 accredited higher institutions in the country but majority of them have little or no facilities to train their graduating students, who according to the N.B.S, total over 200,000 per year. Another setback is that most of the lecturers and professors in even some of the best schools in Nigeria still teach theories and practices that have been improved upon thanks to technology.

These problems contribute directly to the unemployment rate in Nigeria, but at the same time, it presents an opportunity to those in the labour market because employers are looking for candidates with the right skills, education and intelligence. Simply put, top employers are looking for top candidates. cry

The real reason why you're still unemployed is because you have not taken the time to improve on yourself. The process of improving yourself is what employers and recruiters refer to as being employable. With the advancement in technology and the rise of online courses, you can easily update your skills and expertise and get certified from some of the best schools in the world. When you work hard to improve on yourself, you stand a better chance of standing out from the crowd and getting that dream job.

Another important factor that employers look for in candidates is how smart they are and by using tools like SpotterHR, an online assessment platform, employers can quickly filter out the smart candidates from the average ones. To know how smart you are, visit http:///2cw7d5L and take the online aptitude test and see how you rank.

Career / Re: Best Paying Company In Nigeria? by dome777: 10:29am On Sep 15, 2016
Companies pay high salaries to staff they highly value. For an entry level position, you will definitely be undervalued, however, if you can write your CV, Cover Letter and if you have sufficient past experience, you can command a significantly higher than normal entry level salary from any company. Although, it is a known fact that Oil companies pay the most in Nigeria. I suppose telecoms should be the second highest paying industry in the country since they make a lot of money from us.... Just saying undecided

Nevertheless, entry level jobs have a lot of applicants trying to get that position and regardless of your qualifications or experience, standing out from that crowd will be difficult. Online job boards like jobberman and careers24 help make the process faster and more organized but they still don't give candidates a level playing ground of standing out from the crowd.

That's why I recommend SpotterHR, an online assessment platform designed to connect smart, unemployed candidates to the biggest companies in Nigeria. Being an online assessment platform, top HR practitioners for top companies in Nigeria are using it to recruit and assess candidates.

You can stand out from the Labour Market crowd and prove you're smarter than the average Nigerian Graduate by taking the SpotterHR aptitude test by following this link - http:///2cw7d5L

Business / Re: The Top Five Digital Marketing Agencies In Nigeria: An Unbiased List. by dome777: 12:28pm On Mar 04, 2016
Well all these companies are doing very well but they're all based and focused in Lagos. But the truth of the matter is, there are literally thousands of other businesses that needs social media marketing that aren't in Lagos. Take for instance, Ogun State, there's only 1 digital marketing company based in Abeokuta that's helping local businesses get online traction.
The company is called GB Social and this is what they had to say about themselves - "we are a social media marketing agency with expertise in online branding/marketing, video jingle production, website design/development, SEO and content marketing"
You can reach them easily through their facebook page - https://m.facebook.com/GB-Social-Agency-845513138820996/?__xt__=11.%7B%22event%22%3A%22visit_page_tab%22%2C%22user_id%22%3A1265714488%2C%22page_id%22%3A845513138820996%7D or call Pauline, their customer care rep on 08162442166
