If the funds is yours, why dont you just transfer straight to your account, Explain it as your savings in Nigeria. Instead of sending to your brother first and then he sends to you as gift. You are allowed to have savings in Nigeria or any other country. So long as you defend it.

The money is in crypto, at the moment

Hello my people,
I got the attached quote for conveyancing.

I want to ask if its alright cos is far cheaper than others that I have gotten.
seems you used gift in your deposit. Was it from Naija ? How did it go?
Travel / Re: Living In The UK: Property,Mortgage And Related by Domistic: 12:49pm On Mar 10
I need clarification
I read somewhere that if I use gift as deposit, that I have to pay tax if the gift is above £3000. I actually have about £5000 in Naija that I want to transfer to my Bros and he will In turn send it to me as a gift. How practicable is that ? As I also learnt they need to see his account statement.

Has anyone used gift from Naija as part of their mortgage deposit ? How did you go about that ?

Working for a CQC registered care home should make one eligible, I think. What is on the home office page is if you work for the NHS or CQC. You can read annexe A which is available on the home office website to check eligibility.
just saw this in the Annexe A. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/immigration-health-surcharge-applying-for-a-refund/immigration-health-surcharge-guidance-for-reimbursement-2020#annex

Does it mean one ant do a DBS check unless you have your NI & Drivers license?

I thought my passport and BRP should be sufficient.
not sure you can apply directly. You need your employer or Agency to do that. Not all of them are compulsory. But your NI and proof of address are …. I stand to be corrected

If you're under 39 years old, open a LISA account. Start paring down your expenditures. You can also round up your spends and save the spare change to the nearest pound. Sell anything you have that hasn't been used for 6 months or more - cos the chances of then using it again is quite low. Get a 2nd job if you have the time (do not sacrifice family time as you'll never get that time back) and save every penny from that 2nd job. Consider saving a fixed monthly amount as well.

Remember unless you're rolling in wealth, your first home is just a stepping stone into property ownership. Be realistic as to what you can buy. Good luck!
thanks for this. What of those above 40? What’s the way? Abi you can’t access mortgage

Na the person wey mention second hand vitafoam you go ask cheesy
Nne, I don’t know how buoyant you are. I came to uk with full family. Got an unfurnished 3 bedroom, you mean I would buy all things new? Let me tell you what I did here in Coventry. I went to a Charity Shop, Emmaus, got three used beds and foams, full Living room sofa and one wardrobe for £420. They even delivered it the following day. I went to Facebook marketplace and got a double sized Fridge for £110, washing machine free, microwave £20. They are all working perfectly. Lass lass I am going now to lemigton spa to pick pressing ion for £5. I bought bedsheets and douvet brand new from Argos. We dey sleep well in the three rooms on the three beds perfectly.

So I furnished that house with less than £700. I was even regretting why I bought those foams because in my neighborhood since I came in late December , I have seen plenty foams free to collect here. My next door neighbour just brought out a freezer outside for anyone to take.

What if the house you came into was earlier furnished with bed and foam? You go thruway am? You no dey sleep for hotel?

Please I want to ask, I just packed to this apartment late December. Are mine the person that should go to council for council tax exemption or I should wait when they send letter first before we start to process exemption. How does it work. My wife is the student but I am the dependant. Both names are on the Rent agreement

I had a very bad experience with binance p2p, some merchants are not to be trusted, especially when dealing with big amounts. Just be careful and I think banks like monzo, sterling are better than high street ones.
I always filter to verified merchants and never had an issue with them

I use binance p2p. P2p is good but you just have to be careful. Early this year some of the guys buying coin will go and report to their bank that they mistakenly sent money to your account then the bank will start processing refund for them. When your bank contact you, you can’t say it’s crypto. Story go full everywhere. I had one Ghanaian verified merchant who told me about the trick, he lost some money.

Someone tried it with me and Revolut. I quoted all the personal information protection rights and financial service rights I learnt in one of my cyber security classes. I even threatened Revolut that I was gonna report them and personal investigate their service. Last last Revolut refunded my £640. After 1 month they sent me a mail that they are sorry they won’t be able to offer me their services again And they gave me 1month to transfer my money from their account for them to close the account. I used everything I learnt in security class for them. The process took almost 3weeks.

1. When using p2p here in the UK, only use merchants with high number of transaction and also high % completion rate. For example, someone with 300 transaction and 96% completion rate is a good merchant because for you to satisfy 300 people no be small (mind you for Nigerian p2p look for people with thousands of transaction).

2. Try to use same person or max two people regularly. Don’t change people sending money to your account to avoid your bank investigating. Remember only business account get payment from different people all the time.

3. Try to do max one or two transaction weekly. That way it looks like you get paid for a particular service you render weekly or for a job. You can be keeping all the USDT you want to send and send them once (like on Mondays or Thursday’s). To avoid getting cash trapped, when you need more money, you can do it like paying yourself weekly. So you have extra even when you don’t need the money. Then the days you need more, you won’t be stuck.

4. When transacting with any one avoid either you or the person stating that the money was for crypto sale or using any crypto related terms. By these I mean the reference for the transaction. Use simple things. To avoid your bank closing your account. Easy way is if you have a Revolut account, use Revolut merchant so that when there is an issue it’s just Revolut investigating mr A and Mrs b since both are their customers. To be honest issue no de de for same bank.

I think na the ones wey I fit remember for now be that.

Best of luck.
. Thanks. I use Naija Binance and has been using p2p in Naija. To buy but don’t sell. Now that I am here, can I update my bank account to my Uk account

Great stuff. Check YouTube

https://youtube.com/c/SheldonEvansx

And

https://youtube.com/c/JRNYCrypto

Go to the pages of these two guys. Watch their intro to crypto videos. Then in order not to spoil this tread, you can create one crypto tread that we will all contribute, then I can tell you how I do my daily trading and the exchanges I use for trading as well.

NB: those YouTube links are just to learn the basics and have proper idea, you don’t have to buy the coins they talk about as some are paid sponsorship by some token owners. But they both have very good knowledge and I have found both of them to be good at teaching what they know.

My trading pattern is what I tried myself and it worked for me, I will tell you how I do it and you can try it too, I believe it will work too and if doesn’t work for you, you will tweak it a little to fit you like we all do.
Bro

How do you withdraw your crypto Usdt to your British bank account.

Just got information that using DHL and other companies is very frustrating as they will ask me to pay for customs duty in Lagos.

Not everyone test positive continually for that long. a work mate was in your situation but her day8 test came out negative. So change your ticket and isolate
exactly. I had same experience last two weeks

Thanks for your reply. So I took pcr test today and got a positive result. Absolutely devastated as my flight is tomorrow ! I do not have any symptoms and also wondering where/when I might have caught it. The question now is what can I do ? Uk government just announced self isolation can be cut to 7 days if I have a negative lft and no symptoms on the 7th day but I have been told that it is possible (likely even) to keep getting pcr positive up to 4 months after infection. Does the Nigerian government/air carriers recognise people that have recovered from covid but are pcr positive ?

just hope for the best Bro. I tested negative a day to my coming to Uk in Nov. when I got to Uk, my day 2 tested positive. When I did the day 8, it tested negative. The NHS people send another one on day 10 it was still negative and I was released to go start going out in day 12. All of these are pcr tests. So just calm down. Do another test in a few days time and you might be lucky. Sometimes there is a margin of error in their report that’s why another test after a few days is necessary
