Property worth Millions of Naira in the late hours of Wednesday were destroyed as fire razed some shops at the popular meat market Abakaliki Ebonyi state.

World has received reports that there is a huge Biafran rally currently going on in front of the US White House in Washington DC. The rally was described as a protest against the killings of Biafrans by the Buhari led government of Nigeria. The protesters are also calling for the released of what they described as political prisoner Nnamdi Kanu. The protesters also want an Independent Republic of Biafra which they said was re- annexed back to Nigeria in 1970. Yesterday the EU released a statement in support of the Biafran Referendum, and called on the Nigerian government to respect Human Rights of Nigerian citizens which includes peaceful rallies and demonstrations. The EU stated that while it has strong ties with Nigeria, the issue of Human Rights comes first as a priority.

Nigerian music star, Davido, has said he is of the opinion that the social media bill be passed.

The artist was reacting to a recent circulated post claiming that the HKN singer may be expecting a baby number two out of wedlock following claims from a certain South African woman that she was impregnated by Davido.

He took to his Twitter handle @iam_Davido, advocating that the controversial bill be passed into law, having affirmed he was not responsible for the said pregnancy and was furious about how ‘blogs’ circulate lies.

His tweets read in part:

“I don’t care about what blogs write true or fake but when someone is calling me back to back all the way from another country crying.

“Bleep that shit nigga! They should pass that fucking social media bill because niggas have been talking shot. Just wake up type shit. I don’t understand” the father of one said.

“So many people hate on success, nobody wants to see people wining and living smh!..

“I got mentioned as one of the most influential people in 2015 FORBES Africa, why didn’t you’all put that up? But any bad news, dem go rush to put out, don’t get me wrong; if it is true information, then there is absolutely nothing wrong, but why put out lies?” he tweeted rhetorically.

So, social commentator and activist Kayode Ogundamisi tweeted this today...he didn't mention any names but I am now trending on Twitter. Many assume he's talking about me...and you can't blame them really. He said...popular! I'm somewhat popular! He said female.. I'm female...duh! Lol. He said Lagos...I live in Lagos...some posh place called Banana Island..lol. #Just teasing!

So people are reacting and some actually believe it! That PDP or someone in the party gave me N240m? For what? Advert? This was why I didn't want to get politics advert money in the first place o...and but then some of you advised that I do when I asked here and now see the gbege that I have entered...lol.

But seriously for the record...no party registered or unregistered, no human being dead or alive gave me N240m for anything. The only advert I did for PDP was a page background take-over for former president Jonathan... and they asked for the space after I did a page background take-over for APC's Akinwunmi Ambode. (I'm sure you all saw it). The two parties paid me same amount. I had a politics advert rate which I sent to everyone who wanted to advertise on LIB! And it was a few millions ...which some of you followed to chop inside in the giveaway that April...lol. #Kidding!

Anyway, all these bad belle people looking for ways to bring a woman down...like I always say...you can't! Except you're mightier than God! Whether you like it or not, I'm a hardworking young woman who God chose to bless the work of her hand and is using me to bless others. Get over it! I am here to stay! Not going nowhere! *wink*. Make I go find una more news ojare!

I've shared two eye-witness reports on this story, now I have a photo of the man after he was apprehended by airport security. The man appeared at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos this morning with a rock sack and approached a Medview plane that was taxiing. Fortunately, the captain of the plane noticed him and used high engine thrust to blow him away. See the burn marks on his body? He tried to escape but was caught by airport security who are now interrogating him. The airport was later shut down and vigorous search was conducted

The old man pictured above is a retired schoolteacher who along with his wife, Sarah, in the pink blouse, sitting on the floor, searched for a child for many years. Few years ago, they were blessed with one but sadly lost the child during an attack by Boko Haram on their community.

Driver Lands Himself In Trouble After He Was Spotted Driving This Vehicle

A driver in Eket, Akwa Ibom has landed himself in trouble after he was spotted by FRSC officials earlier today -carrying a container which was not properly latched to the vehicle. He was apprehended immediately and taken to the FRSC command... his vehicle was also seized by the operatives. See more pictures below;

A taxi knocked down an okada with two passengers in the Adekunle, Yaba area of Lagos. According to eye-witnesses, the Taxi was trying to link 3rd Mainland from Adekunle when he hit the bike. The okada rider is the one in red lying injured on the road.

Justice Saliu Saidu of the Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered businessman, Chief Sunny Odogwu, and his two companies: Robert Dyson & Diet Limited, and SIO Properties Limited to pay N26.2 billion to Diamond Bank Plc for failing to repay a loan obtained from the bank eight years ago.

Justice Saidu also granted leave to Diamond Bank to foreclose and sell ‘Luxury Collection Hotels and Apartments’, formerly Le Meridian Grand Tower, located at 31-35, Ikoyi Crescent, Ikoyi, Lagos, belonging to Odogwu.

The plaintiff (Diamond Bank Plc) had in a suit filed before the court by its lawyer, Oluwakemi Balogun, (SAN), urged the court to compel Odogwu, and his companies to pay N26,229,943,035.22, they obtained from the bank to construct the above named hotel in Lagos.

Also joined as co-defendants in the debt recovery suit are Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), The Registrar of Title, Federal Land Registry, and Leadway Trustees Limited, as fourth, fifth and sixth defendants respectively.

The plaintiff in an affidavit in support of the suit sworn to by Fanen Shambe, the bank’s Relationship Manager, averred that sometimes in 2007, SIO Properties Limited, and Chief Odogwu, on behalf of Robert Dyson & Diket Limited, approached the bank and required huge finance to be applied and disbursed as at when due for their project called ‘Luxury Collection Hotels and Apartments’, formerly Le Meridian Grand Tower, to be constructed at 31-35, Ikoyi Crescent, Ikoyi, Lagos, in the name of SOI Properties Limited.

Last Friday, a 300-level English student of Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, Bashir Musa, 26, was reported to have been killed in a fight over a girl friend in Yalwanzai area of the metropolis. It was learnt that the trouble that led to his death began when his girlfriend, Aisha Saleh, a National Diploma student of Accounting department of Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse, alleged to befriend six others, including the deceased - all from same university - visited one of her boyfriends, Abdulnajib Ibrahim in Yalwanzai area of the state capital.
A group of five other boyfriends, including the deceased, stormed the house of Ibrahim, whom Aisha had visited, and attacked him, leading to a serious fight that resulted to the death of Musa.
However, another source alleged that the police killed the deceased while in their custody after being tortured into a coma. That when the gang of five attacked Ibrahim, who was alleged to be cohabiting with Aisha for the last two years in his Yalwanzain residence decided to report the matter to the police, it led to the arrest of the deceased and one other person from the gang.
According to the source, the duo were tortured because they refused to disclose the whereabouts of the other three members of the gang who are still at large, and that in the process, late Musa passed on while in the police clinic where they were taken for treatment.
Daily Trust gathered that all the while Ibrahim had been with his girlfriend, he had been having quarrels with her over her other boyfriends.
Another student from the University who identified himself as Mohammed said on Saturday that late Musa was not a boyfriend to Aisha but only a member of the gang that went to Ibrahim’s house on behalf of one of them. He added that Musa is the boyfriend to Aisha who was said to have dropped out of the university because he could not pay for his registration fees for the last academic session as he used the money in taking care of his girlfriend, Aisha.
“He was so irked over the attitude of Aisha despite all that he has done for her and based on this he organized his gang to attack his rival and in the process one of them died,” said Mohammed.
All efforts to speak to the leadership of the Student Union Government of the university failed.
In a statement issued over the incident, the university’s registrar, Yusuf Adamu said the institution will make its position known to the public after police investigation.
When contacted, the State Police Command Spokesperson, DSP Abdul Jinjiri confirmed the incident but denied police involvement in the death of late Musa saying, investigation revealed that the deceased died after a scuffle over a girlfriend with her other boyfriends.
Explaining, Jinjiri said when the police received complain from Ibrahim that he was attacked, they discovered that one amongst the suspects, Bashir Musa was injured and took him to the police clinic where he later died as a result of the injury he sustained during the fight. He added that investigation by the police revealed that the deceased took part alongside four others in a fight against Ibrahim where they inflicted injuries on him in the process.
On noticing the injuries sustained, Ibrahim rushed to the police to report the matter but on his way home he met the gang along the way, leading to another fight and in the process late Musa was struck with a stick on his head in retaliation, and that led to his death. Pointing out that the investigation on the matter is being handled by the police presently, so the details of the cause of his death would be made known in due course.
The DSP also disclosed that all the suspects, including Aisha Sale, are at present in police custody undergoing interrogation.
