Programming / Re: How Much Will It Cost Me To Design a mobile APP In Nigeria by DonaldYusuf(m): 12:22pm On Apr 18, 2023
Though this post was made in 2017, I just stumbled on it, and I couldn't help but just laugh. The comments here are hilarious. Someone was even insulting somebody because he said he charges 40k for a 4 page WordPress website. Very funny!

For the poster, I hope he didn't get his fingers burnt by those cheap guys that would tell you they can build an App for 80k? But wait oo, how can someone create an App for 80k?

I guess the guy that called out somebody for charging a mere 40k for a 4 page website back in 2019, when I was charging 100k for a 5 page website would practically attack me. Lol.

The truth is no good Developer would create an App for 80k. In fact, for a good App, you should be looking at a minimum of 500k (with Abeg).

I just had to comment incase someone else stumbles on this like I did.

Investment / 10 Things You Don’t Know About Adama J. Adama, CEO Of Farm4me by DonaldYusuf(m): 12:04pm On Nov 19, 2021
As a Startup enthusiast, I love researching about startups, especially in Africa; their founders; who is doing what and the latest news in the startup eco system.

I am going to make this a series, just to share knowledge, and get someone inspired, and today we will be starting with Adama J. Adama because 3 of his startups have been in the news recently.

So, here we go.

1. He is the Managing Director of the Ooni of Ife’s Royal African Farms (He was appointed by His Imperial Majesty (H.I.M), the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi on July 4th 2021 (https://gazettengr.com/farm4me-boss-adama-j-adama-appointed-md-of-ooni-of-ifes-royal-african-farm/, https://www.vanguardngr.com/2021/07/why-we-appointed-adama-j-adama-as-the-md-of-royal-african-farm-royal-court-of-ife/).

2. Adama is a graduate of Zenith University, Ghana.

3. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) Nigeria and a Certified Management Consultant (CMC).

4. He has been an active entrepreneur since 2007 with his first business known as Genius Planet. He was a pioneer of Bulk SMS Marketing service in Benue state, under the umbrella of Genius Planet.

5. His nickname is ISP – which means Ideas and Solutions Provider. His friends fondly call him that, and that name is indeed a depiction of who Adama is because you can’t meet him without hearing a new idea or solution to challenges. No wonder he has founded and runs 5 successful Startups across different industries and sectors.

6. One of his Startups, Farm4Me was awarded West Africa's Best World-Class Digital Agricultural Investment Platform Brand of the Year 2021 by the Institute of Brand Management of Nigeria.

7. His company, Farm4Me was also awarded Africa's Leading Quality Farm Equipment Sales and Rental Service Provider of the Year 2021 by the World Quality Institute.

8. Adama is the Chairman and CEO of Enadama Group, a conglomerate that invests in Agriculture, Finance, Technology, Education, Healthcare, Oil & Gas, Media & Logistics, Construction and Engineering, and it is the parent company of Ceepass Digital Bank; Farm4Me (an Agritech and Digital Agriculture Investment Company); Eliaversity (an Online learning platform); Viable X (an Online Commodity Trading Platform); MedCity (an Online Healthcare Service Provider); and Lasting Infrastructure Limited (an Engineering and Construction Company).

9. Adama J. Adama worked briefly with the CBN Entrepreneurship Development Centre, North Central Zone, Makurdi, Benue State.

10. Adama is presently pursuing his MBA with the University of Chichester, UK.

So, that's a brief about Adama J. Adama, the ISP.

My next post would be about the founder of Patricia; how the idea of the name Patricia came about, and how he made so much money that some persons now call him a Yahoo boy.

Investment / Are Viable X, Ceepass And Farm4me Scams? by DonaldYusuf(m): 11:31am On Nov 18, 2021
Nairaland has been filled with messages for and against the subject of whether or not Viable X, Ceepass and Farm4Me are scams.

I took my time to read the different posts/comments and all the insults (very common with Nairaland), and as a Digital Investor and Startup enthusiast, I needed to give clarity to this issue.

Technology has brought about innovations in Agriculture and farming, and now we have Agritech companies or digital agriculture investment companies.

This sector is still new and growing, hence there are lots of challenges, and of course many fakes and scams will jump onto the trend. That notwithstanding, the truth is the fact that there are scams or fakes only goes to prove that there are some real Digital Agriculture Investment Platforms.

Let me ask you a question: Have you ever seen a fake ₦5,000 naira note? Think!

Of course, the answer is no. But why is that? You can’t see a fake ₦5,000 naira note because the original does not exist.

So, the existence of the fake, is a proof to the fact that the real or original exist. Likewise, the existence of fake Digital Agriculture Investment Platforms is proof that the real and genuine ones exist, even though they would still experience challenges ones in a while.

So, now the question is, are Viable X, Ceepass and Farm4Me part of the fakes or the real?

In answering this question, I will give some basic facts that will help us in our judgement.

Come with me!

Are these Companies licensed or registered?

i. Ceepass Digital Bank is operating under a CBN-licensed Microfinance Bank, Jamis Microfinance Bank, and their online savings are insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), just like your conventional banks.

ii. Ceepass has partnerships with Monnify/TeamApt, a multimillion dollar Startup in Nigeria that will soon become the next Nigerian unicorn (startups with $1 billion dollars valuation) with their forthcoming funding round. Ceepass funds transfer is proceed via TeamApt's Monnify infrastructure.

iii. Farm4Me Farmer loans and Contract farming are powered by Jamis Microfinance Bank, a CBN-licensed Microfinance Bank.

iv. All Farm4Me farms are insured by Leadway Assurance.

To verify:

1. Visit Leadway Assurance website here: https://www.leadway.com/

2. Scroll to the bottom of the website and click on "Agri-Tech Partnerships (https://www.leadway.com/agric-tech-partnerships/)

3. Type the name of the Digital Farming company in the search box at the top of that web page.

This was how i searched for ViableX and its sister company, Farm4Me, and found out that all Farm4Me & Viable X farms are insured by Leadway Assurance under the name, Viable X Agribusiness Limited.

You can do the search yourself following the guide above.

v. ViableX is licensed by the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), and the export financing is controlled by Jamis Microfinance Bank Limited.

And all these are verifiable.

Now, can we call a set of companies with all these licenses, insurance policies and partnerships scams? Nah, I don’t think so!

As a Digital Investor, I am comfortable with these guys (Viable X, Ceepass and Farm4Me), and as a Startup enthusiast, I will continue to do my research and defend Digital Agriculture Investment Platforms and other startups that are genuine and trying to do good in this country.

Investment / Is Ceepass Digital Bank Legit? by DonaldYusuf(m): 9:39am On Nov 18, 2021
In a time like this where a lot of scammers are flying around online and even offline, it is very valid for us to wonder if Ceepass Digital Bank is legit.

I have read posts by some persons complaining about their investment with Ceepass and its sister companies, Farm4Me and Viable X, and how they haven't received their ROI on the due dates.

Those are very valid issues, and are enough for anyone to assume that the company is not legit.

But as a Startup Enthusiast and Digital Investor, I thought it wise to really check out these guys (Ceepass). How Legit are they?

I used some basic things to verify the legitimacy of Ceepass Digital Bank, but before I answer the question of whether Ceepass Digital Bank is legitimate or not, I’d like to first say what the company is not.

1. Ceepass is not a Get-rich-quick scheme

2. Ceepass is not a Network marketing business

3. Ceepass is not a Ponzi scheme

PS: These info was confirmed from their website, office, and partnerships with other financial institutions in Nigeria.

So, now that we know exactly what Ceepass is not, let me answer the question of whether they are legitimate or not.

To check out the legitimacy of an online venture, there are certain things to look out for, so we will look at these things and see where Ceepass Digital Bank falls.

According to an article on WikiHow, there are 3 things to check about a company to know if they are legit or not.

1. Check the company’s website for a legitimate phone number and physical address
If there is no way to contact the company offline both via phone and a physical address, that may be a red flag.

2. Browse the company’s website for discrepancies and indicators of professionalism
If a website says one thing in one spot, and then contradicts itself in another spot, that’s a red flag that the business is not coordinated and may be a scam that was hastily thrown together. If the website is unprofessional (for example, there are stolen images and numerous spelling errors), this shows that little thought or care was put into creating the website, which could indicate a “get rich quick” scam.

3. Review the website’s privacy policy
Legitimate companies will almost always have terms of use or terms and conditions pages, as well as privacy policy pages. If they do have terms and privacy policies, read through them carefully before taking any action. But if they don't have such documents, pls be careful dealing with them.

Now that we have these 3 checks, let’s look at Ceepass Digital Bank through the lens of these checks.

Check 1: The first check advised that we assess the company’s website for legitimate phone numbers and physical address. Now, passing Ceepass Digital Bank through this check indicates that the company is legitimate because it has phone numbers and a physical office address clearly displayed on its contact page.

Check number 2: When you browse the website of Ceepass Digital Bank, you would find very clear indicators of professionalism in the design, images, language, grammar, etc. so, based on number 2, Ceepass Digital Bank is a legitimate company.

Now, to check number 3: this check requires us to look out for a privacy policy page on the company’s website. Many online scams wouldn’t have this page, and for those that have, they will contain some suspicious language. This check is very important.

For Ceepass, there is a privacy policy document on its privacy page, as well as a Terms and Conditions document. You can find these documents on these pages: "privacy policy and terms & conditions" found at the bottom of the website.

I will encourage any potential Investor to always read through these documents before doing business with any investment firm.

Now, based on the 3 checks above as prescribed by experts and the review of Ceepass Digital Bank, we can confidently say that Ceepass Digital Bank is 100% legit.

Yes, it is true that there are delays in meeting their obligations to investors, but that is not enough to assume they are not legit. I think Nigerians are quick to attacking startups but when big companies and brands fail in their obligations, we keep quiet.

Many of us have been disappointed by conventional Banks over and over, yet we still bank with them. So, why can't we give legitimate startups the benefit of the doubt?

Just do your research about investment firms, help them succeed. Don't be quick to attack.

If you are into business in Nigeria, then you would understand the challenges associated with entrepreneurship and running a business in Nigeria. Ceepass, Farm4Me and ViableX are going through their own challenges (mainly technical and institutional), and efforts are being made to fix things.

Let's give them a little more time and be positive.

Cheers!

People will always continue getting paid because what they (Ceepass, ViableX, and Farm4Me) do is real business and NOT some ponzi scheme.
Also, these companies have the relevant licenses to operate. So, try not to allow your past experiences control you.

If Ceepass - Farm4Me - ViableX says it's a technical problem, I think it's only right for the management to address their investors publicly instead of waiting for us to call in.... but those of us that have called in have been assured that payment will be made. You have gotten your own payment, I hope I get mine too.

Yeah, that's true! Investors would be sent messages, and an official statement will be made by the company, and it will be published here on Nairaland. You will get your own payment too.

Not in all cases! Your banks have those issues sometimes but you still keep your money in the bank right?

Know these: Ceepass is operating under a CBN-licensed Microfinance Bank; Farm4Me is insured with Leadway Assurance; ViableX is licensed by the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC). And all these are verifiable.

For the case of MBA Forex and Capital, they were not licensed under any financial institution, they had no insurance, and the CEO, Mr. Maxwell was reckless in managing funds.

There are no comparisons whatsoever between Ceepass/ViableX/farm4Me and MBA.

Ceepass, ViableX and Farm4Me are involved in very viable and profitable businesses and industries. Please learn to support startups.

It's okay not to want to deal with the company, but you don't go about saying things that are not true.

Cheers!

A technical problem from a growing company that deals with financial investment is no big deal but how they handle it is my own concern. Their ROI promise shouldn’t even be a cause of concern at all... truly my money got delayed but I have been paid and I think the explanations given were valid enough. I will be reinvesting with Ceepass again, no doubt.

Thanks bro for your confidence. I am in touch with the company as regards efforts being made to fix all technical issues, and i assure you that thigs are taking shape.

I am a Startup Enthusiast, so i try to support startups to grow, and where i see one that is making serious efforts, i jump in even though i know some persons would attack me and call me an employee of the company.

There's currently ads on nairaland urging investors to invest in the aforementioned names (ViableX, Farm4me, and Ceepass).

These companies are owned by the same individual and are likely running a Ponzi scheme (robbing peter to pay paul)

There's absolutely no way in God's green earth that a company will pay you 8% interest monthly. And that is exactly what ceepass is promising.

There's a thread on nairaland called digital agricultural investment, and if you go through the thread, you'll see how these companies have defaulted in paying investors for months. Link to the thread below

https://www.nairaland.com/5358517/digital-agriculture-investment-platforms-options

Or better still, just do a simple search on nairaland.
Search for 'ceepass' or 'farm4me' or 'viablex' in the search field and read past investors' comments.

Better safe than sorry guys!

It's good that you used the word "Likely" while accusing them of running a Ponzi scheme.

The fact that you were involved in a ponzi scheme in the past doesn't mean every investment firm is a ponzi scheme. And contrary to your assertion, yes, a company can comfortably pay you 8% if they know what they are doing.

How much do you think your Bank makes on your money before they pay you peanuts as interests on savings?

If you know how viable the Agriculture sector is you wouldn't make that statement. Ceepass is a Fintech company, and the sister companies, ViableX and Farm4Me are actively involved in Agriculture in large scale. That's how they can pay you that ROI.

Also, these companies are insured; Farm4Me is insured with Leadway Assurance, and the financial services carried out by Ceepass is done under the umbrella of Jamis Microfinance Bank, a CBN-licensed Microfinance Bank.

Please let's try to give startups some benefits of doubt before we attack them.

Let me digress a little; What's up with your Blog, Tender Junkie? You seem not to be consistent with it, and you can work on the Blog theme to get a better design and aesthetics. You can get in touch if you need some guide and assistance.

Cheers!

Pls any improvement on these platform? Cos I have investment on these platform which are suppose to due this week. I also noticed I can not do any transactions on the ViableX platform like recharging my fone.

Don't worry bro, your money is intact. It is true that payments have been delayed but it is not deliberate. The company is having issues with their tech, and all efforts are being made to restore things.

I know many people would come here to attack my reply to you, and the childish ones will rain insults. I don't have time for such people.

I am commenting as someone who knows the company and as a tech person. Also, I know the founder of the company, and i guarantee you that your money is safe.
