Buying a Nigerian used car and giving it out on rental or HP is something else. The previous owner may hide every developing issues with the car then pass it to the next user. When the car is put on rigorous duty through ehailing. It starts to reveal those hidden fault.

I have personal experience of one like that, it started with rust. Then engine drinking oil like elephant, then overheating.

In all of this, na driver owner go still blame.

Exactly what I told this man, the next thing he did was to put me and the dealer on conference call grin

Like who does that? I expect that even a 2 year old kid should know these things.

He took responsibility for the overheating. The way you're sidestepping the other issues he raised gives the impression that you're guilty as charged grin

And is there anyone here who has never driven a car till it overheated? I have experienced overheating before and the temperature gauge didn't move an inch.

Overheating can happen to the best and most careful of drivers.

If I can service a car with oil of N51,500 within 3-4 days that it was given to me then i'm sure you should understand that radiator and temperature check should be the least of my problems. grin grin

Now to how the car overheated, it happened around Guiness. I have 3 mechanics; 1 close to my work, 1 close to my home and 1 at Agege.

On that very day, I suspected the car was overheating even though the temperature looked normal but I can't park in that area because of "those boys" (it was around 9pm or so) and since Guiness is not far from my mechanic in Agege, I decided to head that way. On getting to Agege, I PARKED THE CAR MYSELF and confirmed if the fans were working and alas they weren't. I had a rewire reconnect the fan but I wasn't comfortable with it. I wanted to be sure about the gasket. Bro e shock me say gasket done burn on top how many minutes overheating fah!

If i donwload all the problems the car was bringing up from day 1 with proofs in our chat, you sef go shock. He keeps shouting overheating, overheating like i'm a kid or something. If I wasn't negligent to service a car he didn't service with oil of N51,500. Why will i be negligent with coolant or ordinary water in radiator.

This dude doesn't even know jack about car parts. He keeps saying my mechanic that serviced the car, that changed belt caused overheating. Lol even when I told him the issue was as a result of blocked radiator , he still insisted I caused the radiator to block and I could have avoided the blockage grin grin if I wasn't negligent.

So please tell the house how you made the car overheating to the point it damaged the gasket and coil?.

Same car you drove Sunday to Friday without overheating . All of a sudden it overheated on a Saturday, the same Saturday your mechanic fixed alternator belt.

You get lucky say na nairaland you are saying all these. You can always come to my place or I can come to yours talk man to man

grin grin Why did you skip the part where the car tripped off from that monday to Friday and mechanic was borrowing battery up and down abi it's me that caused that one too?

You also forgot to say you didn't service a car before giving it out. It's my negligence that serviced the car isn't it?

If i come to your house, I will only teach you about each car part and what they do. That's the first training you need bro grin grin

Even if issues were there, still boils down to negligence on the part of the driver. How can one drive a newly acquired Nigerian used car and trust it without constantly checking the coolant level and things related to it? How can it even overheat to the point of burning gasket if you have your eyes where it should be while driving. Less expensive fix could have solved it if driver was careful enough.

If I can service a car with oil of N51,500 within 3-4 days that it was given to me then i'm sure you should understand that radiator check should be the least of my problems. grin grin

Are you aware the following phrases conjugated and had forced Mr. Damian to question his mental health?

As quoted *This guy should be avoided like a plague because he's truly full of troubles and one hell of a greedy folk. The most greedy person i've ever seen in my entire life.*

Case between Donbrowser vs DjDamian

DjDamian not happy with his mental health as it's been threatened by words Donbrowser labeled him with.

He is seeking total redress and a possible quo qui liber.

Donbrowser come forward with your evidence!

grin grin I have no evidence boss, the car overheated and got damaged because I was stupid to give it to my mechanic to change oil using Mobil 1 and also change alternator belt which has now affected the gear of the car. So Damian is completely right with everything he said.

I don't like public altercations, it shows high level of immaturity and cowardice. I chatted you in private to have an understanding as to why you called me inhuman, greedy and untrustworthy publicly, and you never said these things to me in private.,you refused to reply me your reason for calling me such names.

Talk is cheap and you clearly are a coward for using a public forum like nairaland to insult my personality. If you have any grievances with me especially with the things you called me(they are characteristics of a criminal) ,kindly report me to the right authorities and we will settle it rightly.

I am sick and tired of the insults I have been receiving here. It's really affecting my mental health.

We have derailed this thread for too long, let's stop all these and move on

Sorry Damian grin grin I will stop messing with your mental health

Oro ba oro bo…

I am not judging you or him. If there’s one thing I have learnt in this car business. If we can’t proceed, then aborting should come with else without tarnishing each other image. If I choose to do what I ought not to do, it is from my heart and I’ll take no offense as long it’s not under duress and I have options. You are under rental and service is not of yours, if you insist and feel the need for it? Let is mech be the judge, at least you’ve raised your voice enough. For belt? That should be a minor thing. Either a pulley or adjuster is doing a bad job or wrong belt(like new coated with chemical to make it look like toks). Remember he mention body marks too which is normal in Lagos… all said and done, poor communication mostly in this business is one of our problem.

I remember one of my oga here gave someon car. When my oga da his car in 2 weeks 😜 that was the end of the contract. No long thing 😂

Baba still dey claim say na overheating cause pulley problem. You no know this guy. Just forget it grin grin
The matter long and I have moved on. I don't want to talk too much

Says who? 3 week is not enough to damage a car? A day is even enough. You noticed a car is overheating and you choose to drive it like that? How many days does it take to damage it?

I won’t take side between a brew I barely know anything about, but if donbroswer called DJ out and he didn’t waste time to air it out, common give the some space. Haba! The issue here should be if he’s telling the truth or not. One side story is never a reason manner to judge. Donbroswer drummed this beat, let him dance to it in peace.

Different moniker popping in support of A or B. I think Cheerfulgiver was the only one that air my tots absolutely. Northbird says they should mend their relationship… I see a relationship that has gone beyond mending. No ounce of love and respect. The only pain I felt about DJ is him being the bad/difficult person, but when there’s need or business in view, than DJ comes to mind. Feels more like the kind of person we only remember when in need, but discard the moment we don’t need them. Crazy where the good jolly friends go to when we are in need.

Hence I see the need of both trying to go their separate way asap. And in this case, each should give what is due to each asap. Tell each and both party should agree with sincere mind when they would be able to get whatever that is delaying the processing of ending whatever binds them.

Omoapena you don’t have to like this and I won’t tell you to apologize. Just give the man his respect. Either you senior him or not. Get whatever you need to get from him, both of you may still drink and laugh together (we never can tell, while you make enemies here over the matter). Just give em that respect regardless of what you make out of his person. Una contract remain like 10 percent to be over.

I won't go into all the salaye but I will touch on important ones
1. He gave me the car without servicing it. I serviced the car myself with Mobil 1 oil (that's what he claim, he uses), market price then was 51,500. He claimed the former owners told him there's no need to service it lol. Now that's the only thing my mechanic did before the overheating issue. After Overheating, I still serviced again with same oil.
2. Did the overheating affect the car engine seat that i changed?
3. He wrote it up there I bought a brand new battery with my money, is it overheating that affected the battery too?
4. Is it overheating that made alternator belt to cut twice in 3 weeks?
5. Now that a new owner is fixing gear, is it the overheating that caused the gear to start having problems
6. He forgot to include that I fixed AC leakage. Is it after overheating too the Car AC started leaking?
7. Coil and plugs nko?

If you want me to go into details, I will but then let me stop here for now.

The alternator belt is a minute problem

There is no way a driver will damage a vehicle so bad in 3 weeks unless the car was already problematic.

I sincerely don't understand how they keep asking Ola to beg for forgiveness 😕

I guess your supporters would have blamed Ola if he were to be the one to spill out this way.

Donbrowser was the first person i gave my vehicle to(honda civic 2008) under lease agreement.

He picked the vehicle on the 17th of Decemeber 2023 which was a Sunday.

December that's a peak month for ehailing business.

A car omoapena bought with his own hands and also driven by my dad a couple of times without issues.

Donbrowser damaged the vehicle by causing it to overheat. Things damaged in the car was the gasket, coils and some things in the vehicle. Catalyst stolen, fans stopped working,Serious scratch on the driver and passenger side.

I was very vocal with the way he damaged the vehicle less than three weeks. He only paid me 20k from the time the car was with him till he returned. Which was on the 6th of January.

He changed battery with his money,he changed alternator belt ,the overheating made him change the gasket and radiator. I think he said he serviced the vehicle twice.

I proposed higher purchase to him but he insisted on continuing the lease business and I refused .

I retrieved the vehicle back

As we speak the vehicle is still undergoing repairs by the new owner. Now the gear is faulty.

Mind you I told him to return the vehicle before he started making expenses on it but he said he was going to handle it.

So when are you giving Omoapena his custom papers?

If you like spill everything that happened between us in a bid to distract people from knowing the truth about those custom papers, it won't work and of course I won't let it work. I repeat again, you don't have those custom papers.

I did not want to interfere in this matter before now but those asking Omoapena to apologize to Damian don't have a glimpse of how inhuman this dude can be. Let it not shock you that Damian doesn't have the custom papers that's why he's dropping charges because the Damian i know will never drop any charge of such.

This guy should be avoided like a plague because he's truly full of troubles and one hell of a greedy folk. The most greedy person i've ever seen in my entire life.

Na omoapena no pick his battles well, if i were him, I would offer to return the plate instantly and he should also provide the papers instantly let's see who will be begging each other.
