izzou: All 2024 models of cars are running on Petrol or electric
How come they are boycotting the safe CNG for Petrol? Abi Toyota and Ford no sabi anything?
It is only Asain and third world countries that are on this CNG stuff.
Hopefully, this conversion is not about to lead people like a lamb led to be slaughtered We = Nigerians 1. Does it make sense that Nigerians abandon their petrol cars to start buying electric cars? 2. Do we have money to buy electric cars? 3. Can Nigerians convert to CNG? Yes 4. Do we have enough gas? Yes! The only but is that the conversion kit is too expensive. I expect that the FG should subsidize it for over 1 or 2 years so people can make the necessary switch. That's if there's no subsidy on CNG though. |

northbird: Are you sure, because I met a man whose friend lost 2 buses and a driver to that inferno.and both buses were converted to cng. The filling station fire was started by a truck carrying cooking gas. If petrol cars were close to the burning truck won't they get burnt too? |

pope191: We were once using dpk, still will switch to cooking gas. Then, cooking gas was seen as a very dangerous matter. Today, you barely see anyone that uses dpk.
About taking huge chuck of the trunk? any load that can’t fit into the back sit, the rider should find alternative. Another trip will come, the main goal for me is to make profit.
I agree with you on cost going up, because political instability is one major issue in this country. Regardless, we still have to do what we have to do. I have even read about people protesting against the discover of electricity back then lol |

From CMS to Badagry, no station.
What if your car has a high combustion, or your gas is leaking? You'll lose cylinder and start carrying to to go and buy gas?
The scarcity of stations is why transporters won't touch it yet. Current conversion doesn't outrightly rule out the use of petrol. 😉 |

northbird: This is a very valid point you raised. I have never seen a CNG factory fitted toyota before. Follow trends, the world is moving to green energy. That's why Elon Musk tagged his electric vehicles (cars for the future). Nigeria has not resolved electricity problem, also electric cars are expensive. We have gas in abundance which will equally reduce the CO2 we produce. It's a good option for a country like Nigeria. Are you also aware that CNG is safer than petrol? |

Gentlelife50: Do you honestly think your baba will do that? What will he gain from lying about it? If he fails, it's a dent on his government and the people who believe in him will turn against him. He's getting enough money (for the country) from moving away from petrol to green energy. What's the point in moving us from petrol to gas if it won't be cheaper forever? We just need to know what we're getting ourselves into. |

northbird: The cost for cng conversion is too steep. Moreover ,it takes a huge chunk of your trunk space. As a ehailing person, it puts you at a big disadvantage. Most airport riders usually have luggage.
As long as the "God is good, Ekeson, young shall grow, Agofure ,Peace n co" have not switched. I wouldn't waste my time.
The question nobody has answered is" if you switch and few weeks later, cost of cng goes up , what will you do?.
As long as you can considerably recover your pms costs in ehailing, pms is still the preferred choice. The government has to be transparent on the bolded. They need to tell us if there's subsidy on CNG now. Not that in future, they will do us the kerosene and cooking gas treatment. |

pope191: Swears. I’ve been trying to avoid the drama, but disrespecting him to score a point truly make me want to question why waste energy on him.
Do his likes think it’s just about drivers? Yesterday, I had a fuel that won’t take me beyond 35k for sure. Stuck inbetween parking the car or raise 41k for full tank. I managed to squeeze 63k out of the fuel. Apparently, I can get full tank now and still keep some change, but what will happen to workers that have to pay extra amount of money to work? Will the 70k minimum wage be enough to cushion all these? What happens if naira keeps getting weaker, just as it did yesterday? We keep shifting pump price or hope on Dangote, when we can’t even ascertain the quantity of crude oil he will be getting with China eyes on our crude. Foodstuffs are about to go up. People won’t be able to afford basic needs again(not like they can anyway) and in turn this will affect everyone, including drivers and companies which will force them to shut down.
This dude thinks it’s about sounding politically correct and being insensitive. Reality struck, he knows himself better and his living condition. Needless dragging anything with a soul at his lowest ebb, such will cling on anything just to grasp some breath of if it doesn’t work for me, let it be so for everybody. Some people find relief in misfortunes. Na you and others here no wan accept reality. Tinubu... I will remove subsidy Atiku.... I will remove subsidy Obi.... I will remove subsidy We all agreed with votes but not ready to face reality. Did I support scarcity? Hell No! But you can't be using increase in fuel price as a yardstick for failure of this government, I won't accept it. What will happen to fuel price if subsidy is removed? It will go lower? Let's look at other areas where Tinubu has failed. 1. He was quick to dabble into exchange rate, I think he should have taken it one at a time. 2. He's slow on the CNG thing. LASG should lead by example, 70% of BRT Buses should be running on CNG or electric so as to force down the price of transport 3. The government should properly digitalize the naira like USDT, input more players in p2p instead of banning crypto currency I can go on and on but then...
