This 9-3-3-4 System of Education was a complete failure.All thanks to Dr. Obi Ezekwesili who enforced the 9-3-4 system coupled with the privatization of unity schools even when the system was not ready.

I remember visiting some federal government schools at the time and saw that JS1-JS3 Students were made to have different school uniforms and were separated from senior students.

Some even had physical demarcations with different entrance gates.

Only good thing bout it was to minimize bullying in school.

Anyways 1-6-3-3-4 or 6-3-3-4 are all the same technically.

But why spend over 17 years schooling only to come out and find that there is no job out there.

This country has one of the worst unemployment statistics in the world.The powers that be are just manipulating the figures and hiding the truth.
Our Education system should take Economic conditions into consideration.

Too often, clients are vague about what they want.They just need a website but are unable to describe it.So browse some websites that you feel are classy,note some of the functionalities you need and get back to me.

Now its important for you to know that linux servers are case-sensitive.For instance,on a Linux server,homepage.html,hOmepage.html and Homepage.html are all different webpages.On windows,all these url's will be the same.

To solve your problem,start by cross-checking your image url.(In most cases,all you may need to do is cross check folder names)

If you dont have the time,simply enable mod_speling via Apache.To do this,you will need to be on a dedicated server or VPS account

Well,you could get yourself some good drupal books and spent time studying the API.

Or you can hire a developer to get the job done pronto.

Titanium is an open source apache 2.0 frame work.It lets u write code in javascript and gives you native mobile apps.For instance,you get objective C in IOS and Java in android.You will need to know Javascript and titanium API.

At the back end, drupal manages your data and content,user registration,search,views etc.

Best Practice is to use drupal for the backend and titanium to manage display.

GraphicsPlus: @Idlaw2k3, there is nothing wrong in using free template, but if u ar using it, then u should not call urself a webmaster or web developer. U ar simply a web editor that knows basic html/css.

If ur client wants a website urgently? Then what stops u from developing all kinds of web templates and storing them for immergency use?

A web designer may only use a template for his personal blog, maybe wordpress, but for his business website and clients' websites, he hav to handcraft them.

What wil happen when u design an immergency website wit a template and another person somewhere designs his immergency website wit the same template?

Here is my advice, soak urself in html4/html5, have a grip on css2/css3, cut ur teeth in js/jquery, lay hold on php and mysql, and have a good idea of photoshop for the web, then u can build something awesome and u wil never hav to panic that u may stumble on the design in another website.

I concur.I was working on a joomla project with some guy who claimed to have 3years+ experience with the CMS.Was shocked when the guy couldnt understand or write a single line of PHP.

With the rise of CMS Web design,many of these template editors are claiming to be webmasters.

If you need to hire a joomla or wordpress developer,be very careful coz over 50% of them are template editors.

You may end up with a beautiful design and no functionality. Beware.

Artistree: Home video is for the jobless. I wake up by 5:30am each day, do my house chores & go 2work by 6:30am. Close by 6:00pm, get home by say 7:00pm, exhausted. When & how on earth do I have the extra 2hrs or more watching some cork & bull put 2geda in d name of Nollywood movies?
I am definitely among the very few who don't indulge in what won't give me money or life.

pro01: People are generally more comfortable with what they can understand/assimilate. Nollywood movies dey 'compatible' with the prevailing IQ in Naija - Oyinbo movies require too much mental stress.

Besides, onyibo people dey talk with their nose, so most of our babes no dey fit hear wetin dem dey talk, talkless of to understand the story behind the movie.

Om a general note, i think any criticisms of Nollywood by Nigerians should be positive and constructive.
I remember the 1st generation movies like rattle snake,etc.Am sure most of you have watched it and appreciated it at the time.

It is a sad reality that there are a huge number of these movies with poor scripts.However i ve seen some titles that are worth watching again(mind you i patronize foreign movies a lot)

Nigeria's movie industry is still in its budding stage so the comparison with hollywood(that has been around for over a century) is biased and unfair.

Most importantly,our movie industry is incredibly underfunded.Nollywood movies are made on shoe-string budgets of time and money. An average production takes under 15 days and costs approximately $20,000.(Johnny Depp was paid $35,000,000 for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.The movie had gross sales of over 1bn USD).Sadly an average nollywood film sells 50,000 copies despite a huge population.Thanks to the pirates.


Also about thirty new titles are delivered to Nigerian shops and market stalls every week,(most of these are low budget.),this makes Nollywood the world's third largest producer of feature films.Good rank.Not bad for starters.

I have critically analyzed the spanish soaps we all love watching.They have the same theme as our nollywood movies.Love jealousy,hate etc.But they are well funded. Thats the difference.

The industry will certainly do well with better funding and patronage from private entities and government.

In time,I would love to see Nigerian directors celebrated with the likes of Peter Jackson,Christopher Nolan, and Quentin Tarantino.

We have a great culture and there is a lot to tell the world through our movies!

litaninja: hmmm....on what platform is fully secure, i am sure @Slyr0x would agree that none is eventually. If someone realy really wants to get at you, he will. Its just a matter of time. What you can do is to constantly pay close attention to security infi, patches, updates and regular tests of your own platform to see whats vulnurable there...and fix it!

Security has been one of the arguments against open source.I recommend Drupal for any developer doing serious web development where security is of concern.Even the White House uses it.
