Match info
Venue: Etihad stadium-Manchester
Time: 12:45 PM

Manchester City have won just two of their last 12 Premier League meetings with Everton, losing nine Everton have the same record (W3, D3) after six games as they did in 1986-87, their last title winning season Manchester City have scored eight goals from crosses in the Premier League this season; twice as many as the next best side. The Toffees would be aiming to extend their strong recent Premier League record against
City and Manuel Pellegrini’s side looking to stop a two match skid. For Everton, they enter the match on the
heels of an impressive 3-2 victory over
Newcastle. The Monday night match saw the Blues jump out to a 3-0 lead at halftime behind a Romelu Lukaku brace and Ross Barkley‘s second goal of the season. Roberto Martinez‘ men took their foot off the gas in the second half of play and
were punished for their arrogance, as
Newcastle made it a match by finding
the net twice in the second half. It was
the third league victory in a row for
Everton, having also defeated West Ham United and Chelsea after beginning the
season with three straight draws
(Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion,
Cardiff City). For Manchester City, Saturday’s match
represents the opportunity to change the
tides after dropping all three points at
Aston Villa last weekend and losing 3-1 to Bayern Munich in Tuesday night’s
Champions League action. Lapses in defense continue to plague the Citizens,
with the center-back combination of Vincent Kompany and Matija Nastasic no longer looking as impressive as it did last year. The Villa and Munich loses came on the heels of an impressive Manchester Derby
victory, where Pellegrini’s men had the
look of champions. They pounded their
rivals with four goals, bringing their
league unbeaten streak to three games after drawing 0-0 with Stoke City and beating Hull City 2-0 . That streak
followed a shock 3-2 defeat at Cardiff
City after an impressive 4-0 victory over Newcastle in the season opener.
On the other hand the Toffees are creative on the bounce, and by Bringing in Romelu Lukaku on loan to lead their line was a stroke of genius, coupled with his connection with fellow countryman and winger Kevin Miralegrini. based on City matches (against Newcastle and Manchester United) they’ve looked like world beaters and others (Cardiff City,
Stoke City and Aston Villa) they’ve struggled. Having dropped points in all
three road matches, it’s easy to say that City struggle on the road but one can’t discount the impact of a new manager trying to excel both domestically and in Europe. For City, it’s about shoring up a leaky defense. Kompany needs to continue asserting himself on the pitch and a second center-back, whether Nastasic or Joleon Lescott , needs to step up and prove himself. Improvements also have to be made between the sticks where the blunders of Joe Hartcontinue to plague the side, leading some to believe Costel Pantilimon deserves a shot. City will welcome the league return of
David Silva after being sidelined with
injury while Martin Demichelis (knee) and former Everton man Jack Rodwell (muscle problem) remain out. The loan
deal between Everton and City will
prevent Barry from featuring and the
Toffees will hope Darron Gibson (knee) can replace him. Everton will await to
see whether Kevin Mirallas (ankle) can go while Pienaar (hamstring) is likely out. The match is guaranteed to be an
entertaining affair.

Man utd performance wasn't impressive to say the least, our play was insipid without vigour, when i noticed rooneys omission from d starting 11 i gave up hope, RVP's performance in UCL is always below par. Lest i 4get in my opinion Moyes is a Man united misfit 2geda with his Signing Fellaini.

God help MUFC. Red Devil 4eva)

Meringe: That's the problem with Africans. We complain of sit-tight leaders while in our little way as head we are more than worse than the leaders.
OBJ wanted to stay longer through 3rd term, Abacha One million March, Babagida 9yrs and still want to rule again.

Sexkill, I don't know you and I have not had an encounter with you but on my own personal view, I will suggest you bow honourably.

You show our leaders example that we can get it right in Africa and Nigeria in particular.

Peace be unto us.

Bolony: Who is this man, can you please logout, How can we fight Nigeria's problem if our privacy is not protected, do you have any Idea of how people are being harassed by the CIA in the US just because of common search they made only for pressure pot and backpack after the Boston Bombing, do you know what it is when you make a search via Google in the next 6years and your info is pulled up from there, Man you need to shut up and let reasonable people comment, we know Nigeria's problem and they are our leaders, just as Seun and the others on this thread are displaying their Tyrannic attitude, if you want to revolt for Nigeria as a whole, go ahead and start it, if it is for a good cause we will join you after weighing our options.

DailyNews: ....and if anything negative happens to nairaland, I will blame it on:

1. Bad/arrogant moderation
2. Negligence of people's appeals/requests

Egyptian president Mubarak neglected the power of citizens...Gadaffi thought he would win Libyan oppositions like he usually did in the 80s and 90s...

Sadam underrated George Bush junior...thinking that since he prevailed in the Golf war...who was junior Bush to oust him or defeat him...

UK underrated Germany when they first intruded into Suddentein land and invaded Poland...Chamberlain ignored it...afraid of starting a war to stop the encroachment of Germans into Polish land...all these led to disaster.

Seun pls do not allow moderators to destroy what you laboured for years.

Many users have been complaining about some of your moderators, don't pay deaf ear...caution them or do away if they refuse to change for better.

A moderator is to moderate and not to instigate e-fight and abuse users who happens to be the power of the forum.

Don't let arrogant moderators ruin your business pls...matured and reputable people intentionally avoid certain sections of your forum just because of the arrogance of the moderators of those sections, you better do something fast Seun.

The more people notice that nairaland is only used and frequented by teenagers and students alone, the lesser the advert requests.

No entrepreneur would want to advertise his/her product where only kids, teens and students who have no buying power party around.

You need to do something fast to sustain the image of this able forum and save it from further disintegration.

Thanks and all the best.
Ur writeup makes alotta brain, if only d dude wont throw cursion to the wind.
