Tonye got to work late as expected; he dropped off his wife at the carport entrance to her office block where she angrily strutted off- he couldn’t care less and hurriedly raced to look for a parking space at the general lot. He was in high spirits today because of the morning’s event despite a warning sent to him by his boss for coming very late, he knew it must have been engineered by his wife…. He didn’t care.

There is one special thing about the ego in men that many women ignore and even a lot of men themselves have not come to fully realize, they have this instinct of an inner need to be the one who provides, protects and cares for their mate, their kids or vulnerable people around them, this manliness in them gives them a secret satisfaction. Men desire that someone looks up to them and always respect their territory however this gets broken if they have been “over mummied by their mums” or as in this case over- disrespected and stripped of their glory by their partners: as a result cuddling, petting and playing tend to reduce or out rightly cease, when or if those things ever occur it is done as a job or duty rather than from true emotions or desires.on the other hand in the case of the "over mummied", they tend to always be the ones in need of care and petting by their mates, which a woman can only cope with for some time before she starts to desire a dominant one. _{just for your information}


He had a flash back of when he felt like a real man, when he was in charge, when he calmed her fears, protected her, provided for her, taught her stuff and generally took care of her. He was much younger then, broke but in charge. These days his territory had been breached and like men of old, this secret instinct made him desire new territory where he would once again be the alfa male and every other thing looked up to him, in that world, he had to be in control especially financially. All kinds of thoughts were coming to his mind.

In retrospect, I don't think she was as horrible as you described in the diary, u know we tend to exaggerate in anger only to calm down later.
Lucky u,  it's bin a while,  being heartbroken is horrible! I'm there presently and I hate every bit of it!

its been a while a posted on nl cos i have been enjoying my relationship so far.
of recent, my gf began to change.she was used to being in contact with me 247.but now, when i call her and perhaps shes not around the phone to pick it up, she won't bother to beep me when she eventually sees the missed calls and this is unlike what she used to be.
what she did last thatz making me write was that; i told ha i was coming over yesterday.i got to ha place at the stipulated time only to be told by her friend that she went out abt an hour ago.i was beginning to get upset so i called ha up.she said she was still around the area that she was just going out and i should wait for her till she came back.i ws mad.i kept mute.after she got back, she had not too good a time together .she was supposed to travel that evening so i walked her to the bus stop. when i tot she should have gotten to ha destination, i called to check on her but the fone rang thrice without her picking up. i tot she wasnt around so i chilled for her to beep me when she sees the missed calls but she never did.i called back some 2hours later and she told me she had gotten there, saw the missed calls but was feeling headache so could not beep me back(flimsy excuse).i was upset so i rebuked her immediately and cut the fone. i later called to ask abt the headache and if she had used sth and i discovered her response was cold.av not called her ever since and she has not bothered to call text or beep me.these things are very unusual of her. i see them as signals but dont know what to do.whether to respond to these signals or am just overreacting.what do u guys think?

Tonye now earned a fair enough salary, though Gloria earned four and a half times what he got and when they had to make decisions about buying stuff, Gloria was always particular about highest taste and quality and would spare nothing at getting the best. This was a character she had from her hey days and many people admired about her. Being the man, Tonye tried to maintain his position by providing and paying for day to day needs in the house, food,  the crazy humongous rent with its various service charges,  repairs and maintenance as well as catering to his wife’s high taste whenever they went for outings or he bought her things.   He had to shop at the best places for he knew, even if she tried to hide it that she wasn’t ever impressed with nearly the best- she preferred the best and sometimes would even kindly offer to add some money to make up if it was completely unaffordable by him. He never really liked that so had to keep up and even secretly borrow resulting in him being completely drained from month to month without any tangible savings from his income. He spent sparingly on himself buying cheap and not too expensive clothes, shoes perfumes and accessories but saved dearly to afford higher quality of stuff for his dear wife and their various needs.

Gloria had a Range rover and was given a Honda accord by the company as her official car. They had earlier agreed that Tonye needed not buy a new car as they had two already, they decided it was smartest that Tonye used the Range which he drove by himself while Gloria was chauffer driven by her driver who was paid for by the company anyways. This was a sensible solution as they agreed it would look somehow to have a low cadre employee being driven in a senior’s chauffer driven official and besides being of various cadre positions, both had different job tasks which resulted in different resuming and closing contract hours. The senior car park which the car was parked was quite far from where Tonye’s office was and it only made sense to do things this way. So Tonye drove around in his wife's range Rover, and often left for work earlier to resume as demanded by his direct boss.
