You guys are not getting his point. Maybe it's because he's using the dollar figure. $2m is approximately 3.5 billion naira. That is indeed enough to guarantee you the life of a king in Nigeria. You can build a correct mansion with like 400 million naira in the lesser high brow and enough to maintain your wealth while being able to afford premium healthcare in Nigeria.
Yeah his comparison with that of $200m is far fetched. But the main point stands that the lifestyle of 3.5 billion naira is better in our own dysfunctional society to it's equivalent in the USA where you're still very much in check by the society. |

Amoto94: Many also have the weapons but couldn't win a single battle. In fact coming from a privileged background can oftentimes serve as demotivation because you'll always feel like I have a fallback plan and not go all in to achieve your goals. True but there is always an overarching theme. The vast majority of the wealthy are those born into the wealth and privilege. While the other majority of the "self made" are usually those who somehow get themselves into circles of political power. |

I like the discourse on Twitter right now about the privilege of the political elite and billionaires. Anything that leads to better class consciousness is a positive for the society.
The lesson her is; don’t let anyone sell you tales of wars they won without telling you the weapons they had as well. |

Indeed when it comes to qualities like integrity, accountability, transparency, virtues you wish for in a leader, Obi aces in these qualities which is why people were drawn to him but in the core aspect of leadership itself as a quality, he is found severely wanting. I'm on the inside and I've witnessed the chaos firsthand. The lack of leadership and communication from the top. Everyone wondering what next with no answers. It's very pitiful. |

I stand with the coalition. This comes at a price of my ideological principles.
I became obidient because I hungered for a people-led political revolution that would sweep out the old guard and usher in a new administration of the people, for the people and by the people. Enough of old men robbing is in broad daylight while we hopelessly watched on but it seems that dream has become utterly fanciful.
I am too angry with Peter obi. He thoroughly mismanaged the obidient movement, he has proven to be an ineffectual leader of men and politician, a gross inability to inspire followership. The failings of the labor party rests squarely on obi's shoulder. Better politicians would have grown that movement to be a political power house but what you have is everyone who once genuinely believed in him leaving him one by one. He offers no pathway forward. Yes, he's a man of integrity, yes, he's a brilliant technocrat but you must also be a brilliant politician too to get you to where you can apply your knowledge for the country.
I align with the coalition because I am desperate for the APC to leave power. We are at the brink of a one party state, the same way we feared the total domination of PDP is the same situation arising. I hope the APC is pushed out by the masses so that the leaders would always know that our voices matter.
As it is right now, there is lawless impunity by our leaders because they feel that we do not matter. I hope that changes and I enjoin you all to support the coalition on that basis. |

My eyes is solely on China and Russia.. Then you're getting it wrong. There's not enough motivation for China to get involved. They know it's simply not their fight. As for Russia, they have enough on their hands already and this just makes them weaker. Russia has know lost 2 allies in the region. Syria and Iran. It must suck being putin right now |

Ibime: I made a long post about how Iran has not launched a ballistic in 24 hours and got banned by Spambot twice. My guess is they now diminish their remaining stockpile in a lash of fury and leave themselves open for picking.
There is a reason why US seeks air superiority in any battle. Israel cleared road perfectly for them. It's the same reason Netanyahu is paying condolence visits while Ayatollah is hiding in a bunker because Netanyahu will get 10 mins missile warning before any strike on him while Ayatollah won't
Same reason why after 521 ballistic missiles launched, Iran is yet to kill a soldier while their top commanders are almost all dead from aeroplanes.
Air superiority no be anybody mate. Those missiles are just for scaring civilian population and Israel have calculated they can absorb them and get their goals achieved. It's all Maths from here on in. What's your prediction for the middle east if there's a regime change in Iran? Do you think it stabilizes with Israel now a verified and tested military power or do you think Israel will still be challenged in the region? |

DissTroy: Nothing would work like a functional system. Something similar to China's.
1. Corruption and embezzling public funds should come with steep and the harshest punishments.
2. For it to happen, the judiciary has to be truly independent with its own purse. Right now an Umo Eno, Otti or Sanwo-Olu or Ododo has got his state's judiciary in his pockets while offering them public charity with our patrimony like he's doing them a favour a la brand new cars at intervals instead of such being constitutionally guaranteed regardless of the Governor's caprices. Most cases get quashed at the state level.
3. For the judiciary to work, the security apparatus has to work. The police, NSDC, and the Army are under the thumbs of the elites.
4. The Freedom of Information Act which GEJ passed into law should be executed across all strata. I have written to and walked into MDAs demanding certain information, including the expenditure on Ibom Air and the 21-Storey Smart Building Former Gov. Udom oversaw and it's been bureaucratic redtapes impeding me.
5. The 2018 Perpetual Injunction Nigerian state governors had the puppet judiciary place, barring us the citizenry from knowing the expenditure of security votes given to them has to be lifted. But that would only happen with a somewhat independent judiciary with its own purse.
In 2019, Ortom of Benue State got #31 billion as security votes alone yet insecurity was rife and we as citizens couldn't probe what he did with it. Udom got #21.6 billion but I can't get the breakdown.
Once we figure the five issues out, me are certainly on our way to the Nigeria we dream of. We've been dreaming for so long it feels so elusive now. Sorry I'm just seeing this. You've mentioned factors that have to be put in place for Nigeria to work. And these are good factors which if implemented will certainly help move Nigeria forward. But you'll noticed that I asked what the ordinary masses can do within their power to effect these changes. Institutional reforms, judicial reforms, security reforms can only be carried out by the politicians, one's which we have seen are entirely.ade up of the elite, now, what can the ordinary masses do to effect change? |

To their advantage, we would never learn. Propose a solution on what you think is the best way forward for the masses. What do we do about issue of bad governance in Nigeria? |
