Obi1kenobi:

An "empire" that was still as primitive as our "unclad bush dwellers". grin What kind of empire is that.
Before the colonialists came here, you couldn't read or write (even our bush dwellers had Nsibidi calligraphy). Dwelt in the same mud and thatch as our Eastern bush dwellers. You lived by the ocean but could never navigate it like our bush dwellers. You had no scientific/technological accomplishments like our bush dwellers. Basically, you were just as primitive as our naked bush dwellers. So what good was your so-called "empire"? Sure, you had some tribal chiefs slaughtering each other in endless wars and consolidating their power in expanding their territory. But what did they accomplish for posterity?

In the end, your advancement (and yes, I do believe Yorubas are the most successful tribe in Nigeria because I'm an honest person) depended on the simple fact you were the geographical gateway for the Western colonialists and had first contact with them and profited from Western education and trade through your ports. It had nothing to do with any primitive "empire" you built.

Uncle stop lying,
Historically its impossible to use the word Primitive and Yoruba in the same context.

Ok, here are a few of the unique cultural advancements of the Yoruba divided into three broad fields (Philosophy and Mythology, Literature, Art and Encryption,Science and Computing):

1 The Yoruba Pantheon and Mythology
\
The Yoruba pantheon which consist of 400 gods is the largest pantheon in the world known as the Orisha. Larger than the Greek pantheon(Zeus, Hera, Heracles...), Roman pantheon (Hercules, Jupiter,Venus...) ,Norse Pantheon(Thor, Loki,Odin), Egyptian Pantheon (Oris, Isis, Osiris,Anubis...)

Also,
The Yoruba Pantheon of Gods and Mythology is not only the largest but also arguably the most original of all the Pantheons. Because Greek and Roman Mythology are basically the same, also Egyptian and Norse mythology have very similar characters and origins. The Yoruba pantheon on the other hand is very unique and most gods in the pantheon have distinct traits, roles and characteristics.Only the Indian Mythology and pantheon can rival it.

2) Literature, Art and Encryption:

Yorubas also invented one of the most complex encrypted symbolic languages called the Aroko which was used by Elite societies within the Yoruba tribe to communicate confidential and classified state affairs. The Yoruba Aroko is usually likened to the great Egyptian Hieroglyphics by many archaeologist and ancient scholars.

Science and Computing

The Yorubas also invented a very advanced and complex divination system known as ODU IFA or opele which is very similar to Quantum computing and Hill Climbing Algorithm in Artificial Intelligence.
Ifá is practiced throughout the Americas, West Africa, and the Canary Islands, in the form of a complex religious system, and plays a critical role in the traditions of Santería, Candomblé, Palo, Umbanda, Vodou, and other Afro-American faiths, as well as in some traditional African religions.

Also, Vodoo (Black Magic) originated from the Yorubas and its a form of Metaphysics.

The Great OYO Empire

The Oyo Empire was a Yoruba empire of what is today Western and North central Nigeria. Established in the 15th century, the Oyo Empire grew to become one of the largest West African states. It rose through the outstanding organizational and administrative skills of the Yoruba people, wealth gained from trade and its powerful cavalry
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oyo_Empire

Unfortunately,
i dont have time to touch on several other areas like our Tradions, Beliefs of the Afterlife, Cosmology and Yoruba arts which was mistaken for remains of Atlantis
. Here is a short article about it on CNN
http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/africa/06/21/kingdom.ife.sculptures/index.html

Also,
I believe no culture / tribe in Nigeria is superior to another we are all unique and special in our own different ways. Hence trying to bash another person's cultural heritage is a sign of internalized inferiority complex. Stop it!!

Btw,
Here is a short and interesting Animation done by Crash Course studios in America on a Yoruba Pantheon and Mythology

Politics / Re: What Is The Real Problem Between The East And The West. by donniemc: 1:46pm On Jan 26, 2018
Obi1kenobi:

That is exactly the point I made but you have a comprehension problem. The word "agbada" is a Yoruba word. It doesn't mean it was invented by Yorubas. They simply slightly (very slightly) modified a cotton kaftan attire that tribes throughout West/Sahelian Africa have been rocking for several generations before it ever got to Yoruba land through Hausa and Fulani merchants that were already wearing the babariga which the so-called "agbada" copied from.
So trying to use the agbada as some evidence of your unique civilization is nonsensical. The Arabs brought it to Africa and it was copied by the Maghrebis/Berbers from whom tribes in Sahelian Africa like the Malian and Songhai empires brought it to sub-saharan Africa, from where the Hausas/Fulanis copied it and then the Yorubas copied it from Hausa-Fulanis. Different tribes simply applied their own artistic variations on the kaftan and you're here chest-beating about nothing.
We had no early version of the kaftan because South Eastern tribes had little historical contact with Northerners/Muslims. The cotton material is also not native or conducive to be cultivated in the equatorial and humid tropics of the Eastern region.

Again, continue deluding yourself with supremacist bullshiit.

Uncle,
First of all 70% of Yorubas are of Middle eastern /North African origin(proven genetically). What we now call the Agbada or BabanRiga is just a desert/arid clothing designed to help conserve body fluid and prevent dehydration in arid / desert regions. Gradually over time the clothing evolved to be more stylish and royal.

Hence,
Every single tribe of middle eastern origins have their own variation / style of the "Agbada".It is a shared heritage of tribes and cultures that originated from that region.

Basically,
its historically impossible to alienate the Yoruba's from the Agbada neither can one dispute the originality/nativity of the Gele(Head gear), Buba(Top) and Iro(wrapper) worn by Yoruba women.

Also,
All Nigerian cultural attires are beautiful and unique in their own way. No cultural attire of any Nigerian tribe is superior to another. #One Nigeria!!

Btw,
Here are some variations of the Agbada from different cultures around the world that share a common Middle eastern and North African origin.

1 -> ARABS
2 -> Touareg
3 -> Sudaneese
4 -> Yoruba

Hello Sir,
Please sir i need your assistance. I just bought a Redmi 5plus and i need to unlock the Bootloader.

I have tried everything but none of them worked.

Firstly,
I requested for unlock status from Xiaomi using the XiaomiFlash unlock tool.I was granted unlock access but i was asked to wait for 360 hours (15 days) before i can unlock the phone.

Also,
I turned on developer status, enabled oem unlocking and tried to use Adb to unlock the device using the command "Fastboot oem unlock"
but again i got an error and there is no way to boot into EDl mode on Miui9 so i can't unlock manually.

Please sir,
i beg you in the name of your Ex girl friend grin. please kindly, if you have unlock status give me access so that i can use it to unlock my Redmi 5plus.. honestly i don't mind renting your account for N1k for 1 hour

i really need to unlock it so that i can flash Twrp and supersu on it in order to get root acccess and install Lineage os. am not a big fan of MIUI 9

Thanks you sir, God will bless you and increase you in Jesus name. Also all your desires and aspirations for this year will be answered speedily by God

Also sir, the reskin and launch service by the developers is terrible. It is not easy going through this without help or great cash. The flash light App reskin and launch service is $249 (N82,000 or more). This can buy many apps. I also saw a game I am interested in buying, which is $149, the reskin and launch is $2,749, very outrageous. My Bros, it seems you will help me handle and launch the first two or three apps I wanna buy personally o. Biko, when you are less busy. I also asked this favor because my younger bro is already making jest of me, say I too dey jump for wetin I no know cheesy cheesy grin. Help a brother sir, it is a huge task not for a novice. Thanks in anticipation sir.
Ok,
I have a lot of apps on the Play store. most of these apps are overdue for updates. If you can wait till Christmas/New year time i would def have some spare time on my hands. However if you can't wait you can easily employ the help of indie Nigerian android developers on the playstore!. Am sure they even won't charge you more than N5,000 -10,000 per app publishing.

Here are three Nigerian developers i found on the play store that might help. You should head over to their page, pick their email and shoot them a mail.

1 ZaidHbb ( I think he his from the north he also has a lot of Hausa apps on the play store):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromo.dev492494.app698257

2. Wisdom gallery :

3. Aikotech:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.andromo.dev453956.app442217

Alternatively, you can just go to the play store and search "Nigeria 2017" you would see many apps that were made by Nigerian developers. You can contact any of them and ask for their assistance.

Warning!:
Some of these developers will take advantage of you and also publish some of the apps you bought on their own account!. But in life there is a price to pay for everything!. So its worth the risk!....you dig?

Btw,
Don't mind your brother. If people don't mock you God can't make you. grin grin

Congratulations!:
Now you need to download Android studio

How to download and install Android Studio:

Requirements

- You need a minimum Intel core i3 5th generation laptop with at least 6gb of ram and no less than 30gb of free space running Microsoft windows or Linux (If you have a Macbook that's ok too)

Download
Once you have all these things in place. You should go to the link below and download Android studio.
https://developer.android.com/studio/index.html

Downloading Java JDk
Android studio needs Java JDK to run so you have to download the Java Jdk from the link below:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk9-downloads-3848520.html

After Downloading the Java Jdk install it before you start the installation of Android studio

once you have successfully downloaded android studio then you should go ahead and install it. When the installation is complete its going to start downloading some stuff from the internet. This would definitely take a while just be patient!. When the Android Sdk and co are finished downloading then you would have successfully completed step 2.

Lemme know when you have completed this step so that i can walk you through importing the project, generating a keystore and then publishing the app on the Google Play store!.

Alternatively,
i would suggest that for your 1st and 2nd app you should pay the developer to help you publish the app on the play Store so that you can start making money right off the bat. Then for subsequent apps you can learn how to publish them by your self!. Its always better to start easy and then walk your way up into more difficult terrain.

But if you insist,
Am always here to help.

Hi Bros, thank you so much for your many helps. I bought the flashlight app. Now I am stuck on how to publish it. Seems they talk about reskining or editing or so. Though the documentation is their, explanatory though but my head never settle well. Please, how did yu get about yurs as a starter? I just need ideas. Abeg no forsake your boy here o. I have decided to get through with this, and I am gonna forge ahead by fire by thunder. Please, help more. I am not considering paying any developer for this though. Thanks.

This is what's written in the document in the app package (it is a zip folder)

Best Flashlight HD + Strobe with Admob ads
DOCUMENTATION

This is a flashligh app that doesn't require any editing in the code(no programming knowledge required to edit).
To import the project to eclipse , go to
1-) File > New > Project > Android > Android application from existing code , select Flashlight
2-) Do the same for AndroidWheel-master & google-play-services_lib
3-) Right Click on Flashlight project inside eclipse > properties > Android (on the left sidebar) > Library > Add
and add AndroidWheel-master & google-play-services_lib
==> Import completed !

For editing do the following :
________________________________________________

1) Change Admob ids :
Go to res > values > strings.xml & change adbanner , admobid to your own ids.

2) Change app buttons, logos, icon, and background:
Go to res > drawable > then replace you PNG images with the current ones.
For the icon : go to drawable-hdpi , drawable-mdpi, and the other 2 folder with similar names.... and change the icon with yours

3) Change 'about' info in app dialog:
Go to strings.xml > and change the string named text

4) Change Website for 'our site' button
Go to src > ...> flashlight > StrobeLightConfig.java , and scroll to line 186. Replace "www.jouniapps." with your website.
e.g "www.yourwebsite.com" (including the quotations)

**NOTE** An app on playstore currently has the same app layout but different colors. It is recommended and will be better if you change the buttons and app background to avoid having problems with other developers.Chupamobile offers reskinng services so that you can get new layout for some extra money

Okay, thanks sir cool cool cool ...one more question. I read about something: When you finally published your apps, are they all enlisted under free app or you priced them. If you priced them, how can we set price right that will not be too costly or too cheap. Thanks. smiley smiley smiley

Hello,
There are 3 ways you can monetize an app:

1. Freemium model:
Make the app free to download but include Google Admob ads in it. The more people download your app the more your ad money goes up.This is by far the best monetisation strategy as your admob money keeps increasing over time.So in the long run you can make Thousands or even hundreds thousands of dollar annually form one app. For instance some apps that were published 3 years ago are still today generating huge revenues for the developers that made them. Its a smart way to make money work for you!

Example:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.musicstreaming.freemusic

2.In-app purchases:

This model is a hybrid model between paid and free apps.It is popularly used in Games like Candy crush, Clash of Clans. The app is free to download but it requires the users to make purchases. For instance a game with In-app purchases might require its users to purchase coins so that they can use the coins to purchase upgrades in the game to level up their character.

You can also use this model with freemium model apps. For instance you can ask your users to purchases a $2.00 upgrade that prevents your apps from showing admob advertisment.
Here are some Games with In-app purchases system:

1. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.king.candycrushsaga
2. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.supercell.clashofclans
3. https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=6054197513203380012

3.Paid apps:

This model requires your users to pay a certain amount before they can even download your app. this model looks very lucrative as you can charge every user before they even download your apps.

So for instance if you have 10,000 downloads and your charge $2.000 per downloads that means you have made $20,000 from app downloads alone. However this model is not advisable and quite unpopular because most users would rather test the app first before paying for it. The same way you would have a phone tested first before you make payment for it at Slot.

Also,
Another downside to this model is piracy!. So if the app is very popular one of your users can pay, download the app and then share the apk for free on the internet where people can just download the app to their devices for free.

Examples include :
Hitman Sniper:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.squareenixmontreal.hitmansniperandroid (It cost $1 to purchase it on the Play store)

Now here is a link the .apk of the game that has been pirated on the internet:
http://rexdl.com/android/hitman-sniper-apk-mod-data-download.html/

You can just download the apk to your phone, install it and start playing the game. You don't even need to pay the $1 fee. Hence the Paid app model is usually not advisable!.

Those are the 3 mediums of monetisation on the Google Play store! feel free to use any of them in your respective apps

Oh thanks. Good then to know that you are available. How much can one make per week starting with that one app. (estimation). I asked this because, there are many businesses staring people in the face, especially me, and my savings is about to drain. And hope no be those $100 threshold pay wey yu must reach before dem release ya cash. So, make person no go rush with mistake enter wetin wey no go convert quickly. Thanks.

Yup,
You have to reach the $100 threshold before your money can get payed into your Account!.Also it's not MMM you can't make an app today and get $1million in you bank tommorrow. Let me explain how it works

1. You make / buy the app
2. You include admob ads in the app
3. You publish it on the Google Play store
4. You start getting downloads

Now,
If you get 1,000,000 downloads (usually takes about 5 months if the app is great). You would be earning around $300 - $700 per day if its an app people use multiple times in a day.

If you are very fortunate and you get 10 million downloads then that's between $3,000 - $7,000 per day.

However,
Your chances of having one app get get 10 million downloads is about 4%. Even just common 1 million downloads can be a problem. Most apps on the Play Store are stuck between just 5,000 - 10,000 downloads (you earn like $10 per day).

The winning formula is to have as many apps on the Play store as possible. For instance 96% of apps on the play store make around $10 per day. So lets assume you have 50 average apps thats:

1 app earns $10

50 apps earns = $10 x 50 = $500 per day .

That is the winning formula!. Again this is not MMM!. If you have other business you want to invest in please go ahead. But if you are willing to learn, be patient and invest in apps. My brother you will not be disappointed. You will be doing like N800k per day, You problem will now be how to keep a low profile so that you don't draw unnecessary attention to yourself. Trust me!, its a gold mine!. But like most things in Life it reqiures patience, investments and leaning.

If you can master any of these 3 languages you should be good to go....also Artificial intelligence is booming!. Also i would like to work on my English. As you can see my "punctuation" is very terrible grin grin grin. Am guessing we can both help ourselves here grin

I also am not a certificate freak, however I think you should try to finish what you started, especially in a country like Nigeria. Just take it as a another feather on your cap.

I asked you a question earlier. if I want to learn programming for Android , where can I learn it without prior knowledge of anything about programming before?

You sound like my mum. cool cool Thanks for the concern. However i believe that "He who has not found what he can die for is not fit to live". Honestly am not doing this for myself alone. In the future i want my life to be a source of inspiration to younger generations of Nigerian. I want them to know that they can take risks pursue their dreams and become successful without bowing to societal pressure and beliefs e.g (You cant become successful unless you get a certificate e.t.c)

Anyways,
If you want to get started with learning programming you can take this simple interactive course at:

Thanks again for the concern grin grin

You made a valid point bro, especially when you said that people should earn foreign exchange from naija.
I'm just curious, do you work for a company or you are a full-time freelancer?

Freelancer, full-time freelancer.

Honestly,
there is a lot of money to be made in Nigeria!, you don't have to set foot outside this country to be successful.

This guys for Instance make close to $1 million every month here in Abuja. They are both under 30 years of age
