Personalised medicine, made possible through things like DNA testing, will form a big part of that plan, with £650m pledged to genomics research by the government.

"The revolution in medical science means that we can transform the NHS over the coming decade, from a service which diagnoses and treats ill health to one that predicts and prevents it," said Mr Streeting in a statement.

"Genomics presents us with the opportunity to leapfrog disease, so we're in front of it rather than reacting to it."

The upcoming Life Sciences Sector Plan will be published in early July.

Newborns are currently offered a blood test when they are around five days old to check for nine rare but serious conditions.

In those blood spot tests, the baby's heel is pricked to collect a few drops of blood on a card, but with whole genome sequencing, blood samples are typically taken from the umbilical cord shortly after birth.

In the past, Mr Streeting has spoken about his desire to make the NHS more preventative, in order to reduce rates of serious illness and save money.

Technologies like artificial intelligence will be used by the health service to predict illness and allow treatment or medication to be offered much earlier.

"With the power of this new technology, patients will be able to receive personalised healthcare to prevent ill health before symptoms begin, reducing the pressure on NHS services and helping people live longer, healthier lives," said Mr Streeting.

Along with a greater focus on prevention, the Government's 10-year plan is expected to include Mr Streeting's two other "shifts" in the NHS: moving care away from hospitals to communities, and from analogue to digital services.

It follows Chancellor Rachel Reeves' announcement that the Government would increase NHS funding by £29 billion per year in real terms over the next three years as it tries to cut waiting lists in line with its election promises.

A resident of the northern Ryanggang province said: “I went to the Kimjongsuk County People’s Court ... where 12 people received divorce decrees.

“Immediately after the verdict, they were transferred to the county labour training camp.

“Until last year, when a couple divorced, only the person who first filed for divorce was sent to a labour training camp.



“Starting this month, all divorced couples will be sent to labour training camps.”

In Korea, the act of divorce is not only considered an affront on socialism but also on the Confucian values that tie into the thinking of those in the north and south.


RFA reported that divorce rates had increased on the back of Covid-19 when lockdown constraints put couples up against it financially. Data is not available for the exact numbers.

Rates of divorce are not said to have significantly dropped even though citizens are now threatened with public humiliation and expulsion from the Korean Workers' Party.

“My brother also divorced after three years of marriage,” a resident said.

“His wife first submitted a divorce application to the court and received a divorce ruling. She was sent to a labour camp for six months, while he has to do one month.”


Another woman, who had spent some time in the correction facility, said most divorcees are in their late 30s.

“There are about 80 women, and 40 men imprisoned in the county labor training camp,” she said.

“About 30 men and women were imprisoned due to divorce decrees, and the women’s sentences were longer.”

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has insisted that its version of the new national anthem released last week was the correct one.

The Director-General of NOA, Lanre Issa-Onilu, said this in a statement issued on Tuesday by the agency’s Deputy Director of Press, Paul Odenyi.

Mr Issa-Onilu was responding to an observation made by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on the national anthem during Tuesday’s plenary.

Mr Akpabio, during the plenary, identified errors in lines three, five, and 18 of the national anthem released by the NOA..

“Where you have, ‘Nigerians all, are proud to serve’, they said ‘Nigerians all, and proud to serve’, that is number one, it should be ‘are’.

“And then it said ‘though tribes and tongues may differ’, they said, ‘though tribe and tongue, I hope you understand and at the end where we said ‘Nigeria shall be blessed’, they did not say so. They said ‘Nigeria may be blessed’.

“We are using the word shall, which is compulsion, that this country shall be blessed. So, tell the National Orientation Agency to drop what they are circulating now. Congratulations to all of us” Mr Akpabio said.

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has explained that the official version of the National Anthem it unveiled remains the correct lyrics approved in the act signed by President Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2024.

The Director General of the Agency, Mallam Issa-Onilu, clarified inquiries from the media on the correct lyrics of the new national anthem, saying as an act of the Parliament, the NOA is duty-bound to only promote the official version.

Believing that the Senate President was misquoted, Mallam Issa-Onilu advised the media to always cross-check their facts before publication.

He also advised the media to check the Act signed by the President as approved by the National Assembly to confirm the version as released by the NOA.

In his words," The official version that we issued remains the correct lyrics. We are making an effort to standardise the instrumental and audio versions before we release it to the public."

The NOA had last week released the official version of the National anthem to guide citizens who might be unsure of the correct lyrics of the reintroduced old National Anthem.

I found those requests quite insulting but at the same time, very concerning. Concerning because today's transactional s£x economy is no longer driven by p0verty but by greed and pressure to show off on social media. They use online business to cover up their real trade . Celine Ndudim was a fashion designer, what else was she looking for that she couldn't patiently grow into with time and hardwork?
If you have a friend or sister who is addicted to showing off on social media, advise them before you mourn them.
If you are a girl who has developed an entitlement Mentality to a man's money whenever you share his bed, remind yourself that you are a queen. Find your Crown. Have some dignity. Even if you are dying of hunger, don't ask a man for money immediately after s£x. It's dishonorable.
If you are a man and your girlfriend always asks for money after s£x, don't give her. Don't encourage transactional s£x in relationships. Give only when there's NEED, not when there's Demand. AND don't also use money to lure girls to bed. Have some dignity. You are a King. Kings don't pay for s£x.

I went through Celine's friend's list. I checked out some of her friends who used to publicly post about her. They have all distanced themselves from her. If you mention Celine on their post, they will block you. They don't want to be associated with the hook up scandal but they were all once colleagues in her days of glamour - giving each other pressures and possibly clients.
If you are reading this and you still allow peer pressure to define your values, you should have a rethink. Personally, I disconnected from some 'new' friends few years ago. They almost put me under unnecessary pressure just weeks after meeting them. I almost lost myself while trying to measure up to their fake standards. They drove only Rolls Royce and Bentleys. They flew only private jets. It was later I discovered that they were not only doing the legit business they posted in public, some of them were involved in get rich quick schemes. While me, I earn salary from my businesses. I had to advise myself. Two of those friends would later die mysteriously. Their businesses shut down and cars auctioned off. But we are still building slowly - one day at a time.
Grow slowly. Grow consistently. Beware of the "I WAN HAMMER" MENTALITY. PLEASE DON'T HAMMER 🔨 BECAUSE OF KARMA.

3. Beware of social media feminists who encourage TRANSACTIONAL S£X and relationships. Report their account. Stay away from them. They don't even do what they are advising you to do - they are psychologically tapping into your dark desires to control your actions, turn themselves into goddesses in your mind and establish their brand as powerful and influential on young women. So it's about power for them and you are just the pawn in their game of power. Be intentional.
